i dont remember the first song that i have ever heard them sing, but i do know that i saw them on PBS the very first time it was aired on tv in 2005

It was on pbs and the broadcast had already started,but I beleive it was The Prayer followed by Caledonia.That's all it took for me.

Not necessarily singing, but The Butterfly  :) Mairead hooked us on CW!

Also on a PBS special,  The Voice, not sure if it was the first song that was on when I tuned in but it was definitely the first song that made me turn around to see who was singing like an angel (I was at the computer with my back to the TV)

Well, technically, it was The Sky, The Dawn and the Sun.  According to my mom (and Kris remembers this), we watched them years ago on PBS, but I have no recollection of it, so I obviously don't remember any of the songs (Shame on me!  :o).  So, yes, SDS is the first song I heard when I went to my first concert last June!   :)

Over the Rainbow then Sky and the Dawn and the Sun. Thats when I knew I was obsessed :)

The first song that I heard was Mairead playing "My Lagan Love" and then Meav, Orla, Lisa, and Chloe did "Somewhere" at the first Helix concert.
I guess that was in February 2006. My CW four year anniversary is coming up soon! :D ;D

A friend of mine gave me a copy of The Greatest Journey CD and The Call is the 1st song on that CD. While I was listening...I said to my self...I don't know if I am going to like them. Then the next song came on and it was Pie Jesu...I then said...I definately don't think I was going to like them. Then the 3rd song which was You Raise Me Up and I completely changed my mind. After that song I became instantly hooked and still am to this day! LOL  ;)

MO GHIIILLLLEEE MMEEEAAARRRR!  Hehe!  remember it like it was yesterday!  3am oming in to do private duty at work and my friend who now hooked me on these gilrs the last 5yrs had a new journey on pbs going! I came in and she was like look at these girls named celtic woman w/ there beautiful dresses and beautiful harminizing singing voices! The first thing I saw was mo ghile mear and I was like omg do these girls only sing in irish?? Then she like no they sang a lot of american and a little italian!  The a day or two later it was on again and I caught it from the beggining and I was instantly hooked!  then cam the christmas one and the rest is history! :) :) :)

I think the first song I heard was You Raise Me Up, back in late 06 or early 07, when somebody was flipping through the channels.

I can't exactly remember. I was doing something on the laptop, and my mom just tuned in to PBS while flipping through the channel and landed on Celtic Woman. I think it was a song from their Christmas concert. Can't remember if it was Christmas Pipes or some other songs.

Carrikfurgus on ANJ special. I was hooked from then on! :)

Siuil A Run.

I channel surf a lot, watching PBS much of that time - I ran into the Helix concert part way through. I don't remember which song was being sung when I came into the middle of the concert. My first thought was "What's this ?!!"  I switched channels briefly, came back, realized it was a concert, liked what I heard and saw, and watched it to the end. Needless to say, by the end of it, I was hooked !!!!!

First song of CW I ever heard was "Spanish Lady".  It was recommended, along with the "New Journey" CD, by a member of the Cirque Tribune forum.  The rest, as they say, is history...  ;)

No no wait mine was actually Spanish Lady in February 2007. I was just a little bit blown away :)

The second half of The Call, and then all of Fields of Gold. :) My dad was channel surfing and called me down to listen to this group. I was hooked from then on in and watched the SftH PBS special over and over and over every day for weeks! And now I'm proud to say, I have very strong OCCWD for life!!!!!

Well when I was channel surfing I found the first concert. Don't remember what the song was but Meav was singing it. I had her two cds before CW existed, so my very first Meav song was Ailein Duinn.

I think it was "You Raise Me Up!"  No it DEFINITELY was!!!

For me, I'm pretty sure it was "The Sky and the Dawn and the Sun."  I bought "A New Journey" without really having heard Celtic Woman before, though it's possible that I heard something before then.

This is a really good question!  That was so long ago, I can't remember what I heard first.  For some reason I think it was One World, or Isle of Innisfree.  I got their CD randomly way back when it was the only one out, but didn't get fully obsessed till their second album.

When You Believe...it had been my favorite song growing up and then I heard an angel singing it, I fell in love :D

For me it was "The Blessing" and I have been hooked ever since.

Laschia Ch'io Pianga was the first song I heard. I was channel surfing and stumbled on A New Journey showing on PBS. I was hooked by Hayley, then hearing Carrickfergus I was hooked.

i believe it was " when you believe" or "you raise me up". either way i was visiting my grandma and she wanted to show me this new dvd of this group called celtic woman. i had heard of them but had never bothered to listen to their music. by the time i left i was a fan and have been ever since:)

Mine was from the Christmas Special....O Holy Night....and i was hooked...then it was Siuil A Ruin :) and the love just ran wild...song after song after song from youtube.com, then PBS... :D

As you may know, a Japanese female figure skater used this song in an exhibition at 2006 winter Olympics.
I watched her performance on TV.
I can say that that's when my life as a CW fan began.  :D

Someday sung by Chloë :) I first heard it on their Celtic Woman CD, and I was dying to find out who sang it, and that's where it all started for me :) ever since, I've been a HUGE fan, and that's why I love Chloë so much :)

The first song on their first DVD Celtic Woman "Walking in the Air" sung by Chloe. I had never heard of Celtic Woman when I spotted Celtic Woman DVD on a shelf at Wal-Mart. I was curious and bought it and when I watched it I loved it and them.

I saw Mairead playing and dancing "Granuaile's Dance" on the ANJ PBS special.  I just sat in amazement thinking "how can she Do that?" - and then I was hooked enough to watch the rest of the special, and ..... as everyone here says, the rest is history.

You Raise Me Up - A New Journey (14 May 2009) :P

Since I was 12, the first time I saw Celtic Woman was, I saw Meav sing "She Moved Through The Fair" in the Helix Theater.

"The Sky, The Dawn and The Sun" when I first saw them on PBS in 2006.  Then the same song when I first saw them live in 2008.

You Raise Me Up, from their first DVD, found on their website. Fallen in Love immediately.

Well, it helped that I've bought Lisa's and Chloe's CDs before, and that I have seen Mairead live on LOTD in 1998 (not to mention on TV in "O'Stravaganza". But the first "real" Cletic Woman song I've heard was "You Raise Me up".

When I first "tried" CW, I listened to some songs I knew, like Scarborough Fair, Over The Rainbow, Pie Jesu, Beyond the Sea. But the song I first listened to with full attention was "The Soft Goodbye" and it is still my favourite song :)
