I always think of him when I see "Grumpy Old Men" and the sequel.
He has his little hut over a fishing hole, packs his beer and guns and goes deer hunting.
He got back home one time after missing a big buck, and found a doe and bambi in his back yard! When I last spoke to him, they were still there.
I have teased him about it ever since.

Yes if I lived in MN, a Spring trip to the beach to see CW would be on my schedule too.

Does anyone know anything about the CenturyTel Arena in Bossier City?
It's only a 3 hour drive from where I live, and there's a pretty good chance I'll be able to make it out there....

What is the venue like?

International Falls is a good bit north of me. I'm about a half hour south of the cities. Intl Falls is pretty much Canada. They tend to get a bit colder and for a lot longer.

Here is another Spring 2008 tour.  This is an email from KCPT.  The show is on March 30, 2008 at 7:30pm:

CW tends not to post the tour schedule until they have most of the tour in place. However, as PBS is so heavily involved with CW those PBS stations who know that CW is coming next year have already begun advertising it. The PBS links that I've posted will take you directly to the page where they say the show date and are selling tickets.

I'm awaiting word from Seattle PBS affiliates KCTS or KBTC whether they will return to the Emerald City. And please let it not be at WaMu Theater this time. *fingers crossed*

Any chance that CW will return to Boston again?  They can sell out in no time!  I'd love to buy through Public TV and get tix and a meet and greet!

Maybe they will do all there old stops and pick up some new ones.

I am pretty sure Boston will be on the 2008 tour, possibly a muliti-night like the last time when they were there 2 nights and 1 afternoon show.

Catherine, I email WOSU here in Columbus. Asked them if they have heard anything about CW coming to Columbus in 2008. Have not heard back from them yet.

Just ordered my tickets for next Spring when they come to KC.  I can't wait.  My niece is gonna be so excited, but I can't tell her for a while cause she's 4 1/2 and she won't be able to wait.  Should be front row, they aren't sure of the seating arrangement yet cause it's a new building.  I told the lady I would have a 5 year old with me and I've talked to her before so I think she's gonna work with me.   :o

Keep waiting for more concerts to be scheduled. Last time I went we were not close to the stage. Now that I joined this forum, I willl be able to get tickets quickly, and perhaps very close to the stage. I would like to bring my grand daughter Emma who will be four next week. Still waiting for Columbus.

I finally got a email back from WOSU, saying that right now they don't have any schedules, but they also said they may know more before the end of the year. I hope so!  It was nice in April for my first show, that it was only a 12 min drive to the venue from my house :D

It was 5 miles in April and will be 85 in November but they are worth it.

I go by a 100 mile radius from our house. That is the distance that I think I can convince my parents to go to one. There is one in 07 tour 120 miles from my house, but they arn't thrilled about traveling that long. *sigh* I just need to sit down and tell them that I really, REALLY want to go some time. Maybe in the 08 tour I can do some finageling!

BTW, WETA and MPT (local stations here) said that they might have a venue for a concert by Dec set up, so here's hoping!

I got tickets to the Akron & Fort Wayne shows. They are both about a 3 hour drive from my house. Wish they were closer but the drive will be worth it. I had tickets for the Cincinnati show last April and was very disappointed in the seats. This time I made sure I got decent seats.

I purchased my tickets through channel 48 for the April Cincinnati Show and was in the pit row 4. This time I purchased through KET for the Lexington show in November but will not know the exact seats until October.

I was not sure of getting tickets through PBS cause they make you pay so much extra. I just went through ticketmaster. Plus I got parking with it and know that I can find somewhere to park when I get there. I would hate to have to try and find some place to park when I got there and then that might make me late or something like that.

Tickets from PBS usually run about double but so far I have received seats 3 and 4 rows from the stage. I never have any trouble parking because I show up at the venue two hours before the show begins.

I know this may not help much. but on the PBS side but it does support Public TV, and Celtic Woman and it is a TAX DEDUCTION  sometime every little bit help.

sometimes you do get good seats (SOMETIMES Orlando was not great)

AND SOMETIMES YOU GET MEET AND GREET Celtic Woman is it worth the cost (yes some PBS station do go of the deep end)

KETC will air ANJ tonight, Sat. and Sun as part of their current pledge drive.  Tickets available to those
who pledge.  No indication of a Meet 'n Greet.

I saw an ad in a local weekly entertainment newspaper (The Diamond City) from our local PBS station (WVIA) with Celtic Woman at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA in March 2008.

I got my tickets for the Fort Wayne show and boy was I freaking out....front row seats!!!  Cant' wait!!! ;D :D ;D

aislin - I hope you were able to get some good seats for the KC concert in March.
KCPT had broadcasted CW, ANJ on Sept. 5th and 10th to begin selling the tickets.
They had sold out the 40 M&G tickets before broadcasting on the 5th.

Well thats...interesting!  I suppose PBS can be entertaining to the ladies as well if they read that.  I guess if you really stretch the imagination Mairead's movement might be termed step-dancing (trying to give PBS the benefit of the doubt here!).

WVIA is airing "A New Journey"  tonight (Saturday, September 22nd) and during the local pledge breaks (which I believe are pre-recorded), they had CW at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA on Sunday, March 30th at 8pm. Also the ad they had in the Diamond City (entertainment weekly newspaper) said Sunday, March 30th.

At first they said Thursday, March 30th, but then corrected it to Sunday, March 30th.

P.S.- I would be better off getting the dvd which I could probably watch on my 19 inch LCD monitor than on a 13 inch color analog tv with a small antenna. I have a 19 inch tv with cable, but that is in use at the moment, so I have to use the non-cable tv.

Willow pointed out to me that KVCR (the Palm Desert show) has changed the date on their website to May 2008 with the exact day and venue being TBA so I've changed the date on the list accordingly.

I just spoke to Kristi Wilkes at WKNO in Memphis, TN. and she confirmed that Celtic Woman would be performing in Memphis at the FedEx Forum on Thursday evening at 7:30 PM, on February 28, 2008. A pledge of $200 includes 2 tickets (best seats in the house) and a copy of ANJ CD. This deal was only finalized this past week so there is not any information on WKNO's website and Kristi was not sure that it would be posted there. She said that WKNO plans to air ANJ in November and start offering tickets at that time but she gladly took my pledge and told me that she would send me a confirmation letter. Apparently, I was the first to call in so maybe I will get good seats. I will keep my fingers crossed anyway. If anyone is interested in contacting Kristi she can be reached at 1-800-895-8810 or (901) 325-6565 (local). Her E-Mail is kwilkes@wkno.org. I hope this information will be helpful to those of you that want to attend this concert. Per Kristi, unfortunately, a Meet and Greet will not be offered at this concert.

I talked to someone in Nashville not too ago. they said they were working on a date, but it would be sometime in Feb.  which would make sense since they are in Memphis the 28th.  so i would guess it will be around then....

The schedule shows Celtic Woman will NOT be performing at Radio City hall on St. Patrick's day (March 17) next year.

I'm happy for Scott, Lisa, and their family but your right that it won't be the same.  It will be interesting to see who they get to sub for her.  At least we get her this fall!

The Spring tour will not be the same without Lisa. I have not seen any dates that are good for me yet in the Spring. I will certainly miss her.

Actually, if you look a CW.com Lisa's message says that she hopes to rejoin CW at some point during the spring tour.

Oh, that will be great if she returns for part of the Spring tour. I do think I remember during Lisa's interview following the first tour that she had her baby only 1 month prior to the concert. I just hope that Lisa does not return until she is ready. Lisa's well being is our first priority.

Hooray for the West Coasters!   :D  ;D  Yup, we're out here!  I was a little (okay, a lot!) disappointed that CW wasn't coming out this way for the 2007 tour, I'm glad that they aren't attempting to tour the whole country in so short a period of time.  As it is, they are still covering a lot of territory. 

It looks like CW will be out here again in May 2008, so I'll be saving my pennies for then.  ;D  ;D

Baltimore will be waiting too.

She needs to return when she and the baby are ready for the return. She needs to enjoy the time with the new baby. She will be welcomed no matter what time it is that she returns.

I don't have any tickets yet for the Spring tour because none are by where I live. Actually, I  am hoping that she does come back at the end of the tour and perhaps one will get booked nearby.

I just plan on her not being there,  that way if she does show up it would be a huge surprise.  However since the only concert I have planned right now is March 30 I probably won't be seeing Lisa. 
I hope they release the whole tour schedule soon though, so I can plan on more concerts if they work out.

They need to work on a new CD while Lisa is out. That way no one will be missed but then we know of new music to look forward to with all the girls. They need the big break like that. That way Lisa can spend time with the baby and still work.

I have posted a question to the Providence Performing Arts Center about cost and seating, also PBS will be doing something also.

Update information for Providence Rhode Island

Thanks for writing in about Celtic Woman.  We will be having them in this coming spring, but the dates and prices are not confirmed yet, so I haven’t the info to send you as of yet.  I will put a flag on your email and let you know as soon as I get any word.  Normally, the groups are 20 or more people, and a standard 10% discount off Box Office prices, excluding the premium Orchestra (1st 20 rows Center orchestra), and Loge (Front Balcony, 1st 5 rows) seating.  The discounted seats are really very good and start about the 16th row on Right or Left, close to Center seating.

I am requesting the Premium so looks like not discount

The tentative dates for the show would be March 11 and 12, 2008, but are not completely confirmed yet.


Also i have had an idea for a floral arrangement more to come on this one

That's the same kind of spiel I got when I first inquired at the Kravis Center - no discounts on premium seating, no groups in premium seating, yada, yada, yada.  I pestered them so much they ended up giving us a group discount on pit seats, just to shut me up.   :D

Wow, wish you were cloned so you could do that for all the concerts. Oh, and I love tigger!!!!!! That is me after a couple pots of coffee. I do that way too often.

Anyone can work with your local theater for group sales just call them or use email it not hard to do but it does depend on the member of the forum to work with the person.

So far i have done twice both at Wolf Trap the first time was great the second time not so good, Rich did a great JOB at WPM i am back working on Wolf Trap again and also trying for Providence.  Try you can cancel you request if you have to just make sure what is need to cancel before you get in trouble

WKNO in Memphis, TN has posted the airing of Celtic Woman-A New Journey on their schedule for Nov. 15, 8:00PM, and a repeat at 1:00AM on Nov. 16. The 8:00PM airing will be the opportunity to call in and pledge for tickets for the Feb. 28, 2008, spring concert in Memphis. They have not scheduled an airing of A Christmas Celebration as yet.

I believe it cause CW can sell Fox Theater out! They have great fans in Atlanta. (And I am not from there) I would guess that they would but they may not can fit it in with there schedule.

I'm going to be in the States from the middle of March till April 11. I wonder if they'll be in North or South Carolina or any of the Southern States during that time. I'd love to go and see them in concert! It would  be one of the high lights of my trip  :)

Manchester NH, on March 21st.

On the NHPTV website, they have a pledge option for 2 tickets for $200.  I do NOT see a reference to any Meet & Greet option, though... and there was a M&G in Spring 2007.

yes, very tempting, but since I am not doing M&G next year except for Wilkes Barr (it's Wickies first M&G)...I think I will just pass on these and the reg floor tickets they also have on sale, since I have bad luck with PBS and their so called best seats. May see what happens closer to the show, see if any good tickets show up on ticketmaster or thru the box office.

Yea, I don't expect she will be back then.. But ouch, it'd hurt if she was and I missed it! I certainly don't expect Lisa to do anything she's not ready to do. I, of course, want her to take all the time she wants/needs! And I certainly am not against meeting the other ladies :) But I digress.

Poking around on WGBH's (Boston) website, I found tickets for the March 21st Manchester NH concert.  I suppose this means CW are not hitting Boston in the early spring.  Interestingly, WGBH is selling tickets at $120 each whereas NHPTV's price is $100 each.  No M&G listing at either site, but I've not seen previous M&G's listed on these sites before.  Standard practice has been to only advertise them during begathon airings with no online purchase option.

I broke down and got my CW tickets for Baltimore on March 8th 2008, from Maryland Public Broadcasting.  But there will be no M&G this year  :'(      The tickets they offered were $150 per ticket.   Or $500 for for a pair in rows 1 or 2.

This is the reply I received from the Jacksonville PBS station:

Thank you for your interest in Celtic Women.  We are offering a pair of tickets as the thank you gift for a contribution of $250.  Celtic Women are not offering a Meet & Greet!

Unfortunately it is impossible for me to give you a specific seat location.  Once the tickets are available the seats are assigned in order of when the contribution was made.  At this point, I believe we’ve received contributions for about 1,000 seats.  We do not currently have a floor plan of exactly how the stage will be set up.  There has been talk of brining the stage further into the arena to make it more intimate.

When we assign the seats we go about half way back on the floor then start up the sides of the tiered seating closest to the stage.  With the floor being flat we do not feel that being in the back is the “best” seating as someone 5’ tall would not be able to see behind someone taller.  I would guess that at this point your seats would be in the first or second tiered section to the side of the stage.  That is unless there are mobility or special needs we would need to take into consideration.  We do our best to accommodate people and truly offer the “best seating available” at the time of the contribution.

Just to keep things in perspective - according to the inflation calculator, that $75.00 in 1975 equals $296.18 in 2006 dollars.  (The calculator doesn't include 2007 yet, since the year isn't over.)  And I'm pretty sure that didn't include:
•   2 Tickets
•   Pre-concert Wine & Cheese Reception
•   Post-Concert meet-and-greet Dessert Reception (w/2 artists)
•   VIP Parking
•   Bonus CD & Ornament

Keep in mind that a large portion of the pledge price is going to a tax-deductible donation to the PBS station.  Whatever anyone's feelings may be about PBS, there wouldn't be a CW tour without them.

I purchased tickets yesterday through CPTV Connecticut for the March 22, 2008 show at Chevorlet Theater in Wallingford for $230 for a pair of  tickets, in additon get a CD and CW ornament. I don't think this is a bad price considering I paid $250 for tickets to Skate for the Heart. And also it is a pledge to PBS. They say they are reserving the best tickets now, before it is open to the public. If you look at the Chevorlet Theater, they have no listing get for this concert.
I have to wait to get the tickets before I know where we are sitting. I hope I'm not disappointed.

I'm waiting for a problem with my bank to get straightened out, so I can try to get tickets to Pittsburgh on St. Patrick's Day.  I was told that the Meet & Greet tickets had already been sold when I first asked about them, but seats within the first 4 rows were set at $110 per person.

Gotta say, if my bank has messed up my chance for these tickets, they are losing a customer REAL FAST!

Now I am told May 17 at Hollywood Bowl from Celtic Woman office. Oh the confusion now!

Wolf Pup....I am thinking The month of May on the West Coast is about right....Celtic Woman usually start their Tour around February on the East Coast....Then they make the trek from East to West....That might help you out some.....

It's not at the Hollywood Bowl on March 17th because the Bowl is dark on Mondays. I just checked their website and  they have another performance on May 17th. KCET better straighten things out!

We had the same confusion last night when we pledged for the Santa Barbara and Greek Theater concerts. We called KCET and they did inform us that the May 17 is the right date for the Greek Theater.  :)

LA Girl  it will be May 17. The goof up on is on the station. You location is in the 'A' section center behind though on the floor area. You will know of when you have the tickets.

March 17, which is St. Patrick's Day, has been confirmed to be at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.  That's the concert I'm trying to make arrangements to go to, and I have spoken to the PBS station there about the concert, confirming the dates and costs.

Now for my bank ... I'm heading out there for a direct, personal, discussion about the problem they are giving me.

I contacted WTVI (Charlotte PBS station) and asked them if they knew anything about CW coming back to Charlotte in 2008. They said they hadn't heard anything but if they did, they would let me know.

pester    you might be right about Pestering, but do and i do repeat do keep your connection with the PBS station most of the at PBS people are good people who will work with you on getting you the information. If you have a question use the email talk to them but understand they are people they get both good email and bad email and they can have a good day and a bad day

I'm thinking about Salt lake city myself as it is a shorter distance and much cheaper to stay in than San Francisco. I'm going to get a hold of the PBS station there and see about a meet & greet.

Mel I have never been to Salt Lake City but I have been to San Fran and it is absolutely beautiful.  I recommend visiting it.   ;)  But convenience should prevail so if SLC is better then go for that.

San Francisco has cable cars and the best seafood. I highly recommend it. Used to live there when I was in college and have been in and out of there all my life.

Remember, they only have the Tour schedule up thru May 17th. That is WAAYYY too early for RR. Remember it was close to the end of May when they had the first RR scheduled, May 23rd I believe, and look what happen. One other note to add to that, Mel......they added on some tour dates last year after the tour was first announced. I would venture to believe they may add on a few here and there. Not saying they definitely will, but don't be surprised if they do!

I was just thinking (this is slightly off-topic), CW will probably travel through Winston Salem from Greensboro to Nashville.

Nice job Mel! I have some additional information from various PBS stations that have emailed me. There are not M & Gs scheduled at Grande Prairie, Spokane, St. Louis,  or Phoenix. I'm still waiting to here from Tucson and Salt lake city. I'm under the assumption that the latter will have at least one since they are there for several days. If anyone knows of M & G availability at a reasonable price I'd appreciate the heads up. Thanks.

I emailed Salt Lake a couple days ago and they said CW wouldn't be returning in the spring....LOL  Will have to try a different tactic.

Is anyone else going to the Birmingham Alabama show this spring, we'll have to get together.

Looks like upstate New York has been left off the Spring schedule.....  for now.  :(

However, I see open dates between Pittsburgh and Wilkes-Barre and again between Wallingford and Rochester, MN.  (I almost lost my breath when I saw Rochester - I live 30 minutes from Rochester, NEW YORK!)

So MAYBE as they're traveling between cities they can make a stop in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, etc.   ;)

Guys - I've been authorized to tell you that the tour posted on the CW site is the official and final schedule for spring 2008.  They have another commitment outside the US, so the final spring date will be May 18.  However, it is quite possible that they will return for another fall tour.

I know, this was just something to see how much time they are saving on travel. I know that was an issue not just with them but for most of us. Least I was concerned with all the traveling they have to do. With shorter distances between alot of the venues, and more days at ONE venue, hopefully our CW cast will be more relaxed. I don't want to see them get burned out because of the traveling.

It's called Europe. They have been very patient with all the postponements, I think they deserve to see the show finally.  :)

Even ATL got left off the spring list! :(  Go figure!! They sold out 3 shows there last year; I was hoping to see a stay of 3-4 days this time.  LOL  What about the plan to stay longer in one place and make travelling easier? Oh well. Maybe in '09. :D

I think CW is trying to hit alot of cities they have missed in the past, and some just happen to be on a direct route, for example only one interstate between 2 cities, which cuts down on travel again.

Also, remember, if they are planning a NEW DVD, that means they will need time to rehearse new MOVES!  ;)

Once again, I will be patient.

Say it ain't so!  I just checked out the 2008 tour.  I am shocked that Boston, Massachusetts is not to be found on the list.  True, CW visits Manchester, New Hampshire, but not the beautiful Citi Wang Center?

Keep in mind that there is, in all likelihood, going to be a fall tour in 2008.  That one will probably include many of the cities and venues they bypassed earlier.  As an added bonus, the fall shows will not be ANJ, but the new concert they're filming in August.

No Cincinnati date either and they have played here every year to sell out crowds. Maybe they are going to add some more locations and they are just working on confirming them.

I've been thinking that too. RR would be a great early fall venue with little chance of inclement weather. Look at it this way too, if CW is not in your area or you can't go during the spring tour then you can save your pennies for the next trip to the recording of their new concert. They still have not said where that is going to be yet either. I also agree that Europe would be something they need to do as those folks have waited a long time. Do what you can in seeing them this spring but start planning on seeing the next concert recording and the subsequent fall tour is my plan. If I can get one more M & G hopefully in SLC to go with Rockford that should tide me over.   

Be thinking fall tour and NEW concert. Trust me, with Boston's Irish heritage it has not been dropped off the radar screen. I'm sure Cincinnati is in the cards too. There was no Albuquerque or Red Rocks either, and you know the latter would never be dropped. Have faith and imagine another lovely fall tour and great new show.

According to my calculations, there are 65 shows on the tour.  So, that means all members should be able to attend at least 64 of them, right?

No ...Sadly the Georgia tickets  are not meet and greets. $250 gets you in the door. We have a two day jump on the public. The PBS fundraiser starts Saturday. So anyone interested could get pretty good seats. I talked to a nice guy named Stephen. ;D

Kathleen I just bought my 2 tickets and meet and greet from APT Birmingham's show for feb 22 only $275.00 for both. It includes two best of house seats and two meet and greet passes, their Christmas cd, and they say more whatever that means, like who cares what more could you want than meet and greet.

Hmmmm. If I could get someone to go in on a pair with me I'd consider B-Ham. That isn't a bad price at all.

I would love to meet some of the forum members there, it would be a first all around for me, I've only gont to one concert 20th row no M&G and the audience wasn't very enthusiastic, it was still the best concert I have ever been to and I've been to hundreds. A M&G and forum members would be the greatest.

I know it is still early, but are there any plans for a "group" of forum members to attend any of the Sprint 2008 shows? I would like to attend as a group somewhere in the southeast.

Just an update

I am still trying to work on group tickets for Providence and New York city

the Providence tickets will be for March 10th that is when they are doing a Meet and Greet
and New York should be the March 15.

From what i understand from Providence i will need 20 and for New York will need 25 so far that is all i have.

For the Providence the RI PBS station is going to have their Pledge drive on Dec 5.

they should have something for you.

I'll be there in Birmingham artist1! A couple other forum members are talking about coming too.

Is anyone else planning to, or thinking about, attending the concert in Pittsburgh on March 17?  From what I understand there are no Meet & Greet available, but the PBS station is still offering "premium seating" tickets for an average donation of $110 per seat.  No definite information on how close the seats will be, but if others are planning to attend, maybe we can arrange a small meeting for this one s well?

I would like to since it's not that far, but since it's on a Monday and I will be in Wilkes-Barre on Thurs, can't do it, Need to conserve my days off.  I still have the fall tour 08 to save for  ;)

I couldn't get tickets to Wicked, so I think I might be able to go see them for the third time! However, I don't see them on any of the websites for the Bell Auditorium. Have they gone on sale yet? ::confused::

I was under the impression that you were looking for PIT seating, and that has been assigned to the PBS event only – per the Madstone Company.  So, in effect, I would have no control over any of that, as it is blocked by them.  I sent along all of the emails you have sent me to Liz, and I just left her a phone message to call me first thing on Monday morning, if you don’t hear from her first.

Looks like RI PBS has taken everything in the PIT for the two show March 10 and 11
nothing may show until sometime next year when PBS would give up any unused seats

Well, I have purchased my tickets for Celtic Woman in the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh on St. Patrick's Day.  I won't know until sometime in February just where the seats are, since the front row and M&G tickets were all gone almost immediately, well before I even realized the concert was going to be there.

I have to admit, I'd much rather have been right up front again, but it is still going to be Celtic Woman, LIVE on St. Patrick's Day.  Without the M&G, you can't get any better, I'd say!

Begs the question, Are we all this predictable, or do those who love us look out for what will make us happiest? I think a little of both. For me it is triply great because I not only get to go to a show, but I get to take my mother and sister in law to their first.

You can add February 20, 2008   Mabee Center, Tulsa Oklahoma to the list.  Our tickets came so I know that it was not just a dream of getting front row seats. This is my first CW but I bet it will not be the last.

Hey Moscapoet we have a few going to Birmingham, I'll be staying at the Sheraton attached to the Jefferson Civic Center.

For those going to B'ham.....Southside(5 points) is a great place to play. Not to far from the Civic Center. Both are downtown. Opposite sides...but downtown.

wish I was going! I used to live in Birmingham. Its only 3 hours from Atlanta.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Artist1 I'm in the process of pricing that trip but will hopefully get a better deal after the first of the year. I'll try to stay at the Sheraton if I can swing it since it is right next to the venue. I'll try some of the discount sites and see what I can come up with. Right now though an airfare and hotel package for two nights at the Sheraton is over $700. Usually things go on sale after the first of the year. They better as I've two more concerts to plan as well.
   Kathleen, only three hours from Atlanta so you just have to join us. It sounds like a good group is building. I even have a client that lives in B-Ham that I'm trying to convince to go. I'll be looking forward to thawing out from our -20's around here.

Woo hoo! Santa (aka my parents) gave me tickets to the Radio City show for the 3rd year in a row! I'm going on Saturday March 16th...anyone else going to be there? I can't wait...and the best part is that it will be exactly a month after our wedding, so it will be a nice way to celebrate our one-month anniversary (and then my birthday is two days later)!!!!

Thanks everyone for your good wishes on our wedding! We're getting pretty excited but also a bit stressed out...this is the part where we have to start paying our vendors for everything!

It will be great to see CW on our anniversary. The very first time we went to see them was two years ago and they sang "You Raise Me Up" and I started to cry sitting there next to my fiance (well, he wasn't yet at the time). I'm a cheeseball but it was such a perfect moment listening to this beautiful music and sitting next to the person I already knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with! (I can hear everyone gagging right now as I typed that, hehe!) In fact, when I picked my wedding music, I chose that song for part of the ceremony, along with "The Prayer" and "Someday". I wish it was actually CW singing at our wedding (how awesome would that be?), but my friend who's our cantor will do a great job too.

And Joan, I went to the Chevrolet Theater a few weeks ago for another concert and I think you made the right choice picking Radio City. I'm from southwestern CT so Wallingford is pretty close to me, but the Chevrolet Theater was still a logistical nightmare for us. The traffic on the road the theater is on was awful and almost made us late for the show, then it took us nearly an hour to get out of the parking lot afterwards! Radio City is always my choice for seeing CW. You can't beat the acoustics or the sheer power of seeing a group you love so much perform there. And, it's a quick train/subway ride for us so it's nice and convenient, much more so than driving!

For those of us attending the KC concert, end of March, only 12 more weeks folks!! ;D

Now have airline tickets for both Birmingham and Rockford (the latter via Chicago), and am trying to get a good deal for Duluth. I might wind up flying into MSP and then renting a car or taking a bus. Anybody up there want to car pool? Now, PBS in Utah, what's the scoop for Salt lake city? Four days without a M & G? Nah, can't be.

Our PBS station are a little silly I think. They have only offered Sat. and Mon. right before Christmas and now they don't even have any air dates for CW. Maybe they are saving the best for closer to the concert dates. Only time will tell I guess. :) :)

The only thing I can think of for Salt lake city is that the PBS stations are saving up for their next pledge drive closer to the concert dates. They don't even respond to the e-mail inquiries. If a M & G isn't offered during a four day stay there then the best that can be hoped for is a signing at a Borders or something. I'll be patient.

Does anyone know if the girls will be in Richmond, VA this year?  They wrote a great review about the venue, but I didn't see it on the schedule.

Both PBS stations in the Salt Lake area (KBYU and KUED) had pledge drives in early December 2007.  Premium seats were offered for pledges at that time.  I was told by the Kingsbury Hall ticket manager that tickets wouldn't go on sale to the general public through Kingsbury Hall until both stations were finished selling tickets for their fundraisers.

Since Kingsbury Hall started selling tickets to the public on January 18, I assume that PBS has finished using tickets for their pledge drives and will not be offering tickets for any upcoming pledge drives.  That's my take on it.

 Hey Kathleen, thanks for the warm welcome.  I am definitely glad to be back in the states.  Didn't know how much I would miss not having my own space until it was taken from me.

I hope they do come to Richmond this year.  Norfolk is the next town over, but the concert is right when Lisa will be due and I am sure her time off will have already started.  It wouldn't be the same going to a concert without her there.  She did so great in the concert here in June that I have decided to see them again, but I would like as close to as many of the original crew be there.  Especially because this time I am going to take Sydney, my 5 yr old daughter, who of course, has grown to love the girls.

Please keep me posted on if the schedule changes.  You will probably know faster than I can type on ticketmaster. :)

The US Tour Page (http://www.celticwoman.com/trellis/map_U_S_/) on the CW web site has now been corrected to add the February 13 Grand Prairie appearance. All other dates and venues remain unchanged.

if they don't add additional dates and venues, i don't think i'll be able to see them this year...kinda stinks living in mountains but i know red rocks is one of their favorite venues (as meav said in the iceberg interview) and they have been known to add dates half way thru a tour, this is my only hope ! ! ! :-\

An “Indian Wells”, California date has recently been added to CW’s spring 08 US Tour. As of last night CW’s website provided no details regarding the venue or contact information.

Does anyone reading know where this performance will be made and contact for tickets and if a PBS affiliate is involved?

Indian Wells is just east of Palm Springs and is not really very close to Ridgecrest.

The PBS for the performance is KVCR (http://www.kvcr.org). And yes, they are selling tickets to the show but they don't yet have a venue or a time listed. Thank you, Jim M, for straightening me out. I just went back and looked at the CW website map again. Without map detail I did not do a very good job of projecting that location. I think some wishful thinking influenced me also because I understand The Celtic Tenors (with Miss Shannon) performed in Ridgecrest last spring. Not to mention there is an Indian Wells near Ridgecrest and Indian Wells is used by some when speaking of Ridgecrest.

And thank you aislin for the info. I will not attend the Indian Wells performance but will advise friends and family that live in Southern California.

Nick, where is the info coming from re: CW taping a new concert this Fall?  How/When can I get more info on this as I am planning a trip to Ireland and want to coordinate my trip with the taping of the new concert.

Rich announced to us a while back that there will be a taping, but as stated, there has been no announcement on particular dates or locations.

According to the poll about members at every venue, there is at least one person planning to be there ... I'm not certain who, but hopefully they'll share their thoughts and experience with us!

I'm getting extremely excited about the tour (I'm going to the Jacksonville show). I'm a little anxious too though, as I have never been to Jacksonville before and I am driving up alone. I hope I don't get lost!  ::)

But this is my first CW show, so it will be totally worth every minute of the 6 hour drive. Cannot wait to get up there.

Only a month before they head up my way. This is going to be my first live show I'll be attending! It's kinda funny that the week before I go see them I'm going to the Monster Truck show at the Dunkin Donuts Center, Quite the contrast in events? lol :D

Well it's funny, but as I was listening to my iPOD at work, every song I heard that is part of the show, just was hitting emotionally, and swear I am just as excited about my first show in March as I was my VERY FIRST CW show last April :D. It's actually more intense cause I know the show now, but it's thinking about seeing Our FRIENDS again that is so exciting. Being able to see how they are doing since the last time I have seen them.  :D :D

Ok I am worse than I was last year at this time before my first ever show  ;D

After my first CW all I can say is I am now fully addicted.  It had wondered why anyone would actually fly around the country to attend so many of the same concert.  We stayed the night in Tulsa and drove back to Wichita in the morning (after a five-hour drive in an ice storm); I had to check the tour schedule again.  This week I am going for a job interview in Ohio and if all goes well, I will definitely be purchasing tickets for April.

When Mairead made me think of an angel by the way the lights played on her hair and flew around the stage.  Chloe captured my heart with her playful manner and giggles. I must admit that the concert has really given me some issues to content with.  Previously I had really concentrated on Lisa, Meav and Mairead.  Now I have such deep appreciation for Orlagh, Chloe, Lynn, and Alex. I found myself captivated by Nicky’s work on the drums (I could not see Ray from my seat) and the dual of the drums.  Des Moore made his guitar actually sing and John O'Brien gave me a new appreciation for the Villean pipes. The choir were outstanding and full of so much talent.

What I am saying is that there is so much to appreciate between the girls, the choir and all of the other members of the crew, there is no way that I could capture it all in just one performance.

As I told 2bob at the show, I am sold and will be back as many times as I possibly can.

ok, I just though of the coolest thing today. CW will be in Rockford one night and St. Louis the next. That means that to get from Rockfort to St. Louis, they will probably go down I-39 to I-55. My town just happens to be right along I-39. Now I want to get up early and go sit out on the overpass all day waiting to see them go through! ;D

    Don't forget, we want to refrain from blowing horns during times they may be sleeping on the bus!  :)

Well, I've got exactly one week to go until the concert!!!!!!!!!! I'm insanely excited since I just switched my tickets to 7th row center. I can't even believe it. My tickets are somewhere in the mail though, which is making me really nervous. They should be here soon. I'll start worrying on Monday if I don't have them yet.  ::) I'll feel better when I can hold them in my hand, lol.

My tickets are somewhere in the mail as well. According to the email I received from KET, I will get them in 2 - 4 weeks, as soon as they get them from the box office. The concert is just 5 weeks away, that's cutting it a little bit close! I really don't know where the seats will be either.

This is random, but reading the above post about Tallahassee tickets still available made me want to post it: I graduated in the Leon County Civic Center last April where the concert is going to be. The ladies will be standing in the SAME PLACE that I was last year! :D :D :D

2008 tour,  has anyone who has ordered ticket from PBS with the meet and greet, have PBS tell you that they may not have a meet and greet.  I have tickets for the Providence march 10 concert with the meet and greet but they have been saying that there may not be a meet and greet, just wondering if anyone else has the same problem

Richard, that is the first I have heard of that happening. I got a M & G package through PBS for Wallingford,CT and got everything ok. Hope it works out for you.

I just spoke to the VP of membership at WVIA about the Wilkes-Barre, PA concert in 3 weeks.
He said they mailed out their tickets yesterday.
I didn't ask about the M&G but I should know shortly.

This is a plea to anyone with M & G tickets.  If you have the opportunity, please try to find out any info about whether there is going to be a live show in August to record the new DVD  and where it will be (Dublin, Red Rocks???) I received an e-mail today from Celtic Woman LTD saying that CW will  be recording their live concert for PBS in the U.S. sometime in mid-August.  Further information will be coming soon on the CW web site.

Did everyone see the announcement that The High Kings will be opening for CW at Radio City on Mar. 15th and 16th? My husband and I are going to the show on the 15th and now I'm even more excited! I want to meet them in person.
I fell in love with the Celtic Women ladies in Dec, 2006.
So much so that I ordered 6 of the DVD's, 1 for myself and one for each of my 5 kids. In 2007 I attended their show at the Verison Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. I now have tickets to their appearance this year on March 21, 2008 again at the Verison Center in Manchester, NH.

My question is this:
I know that at each event, some people are invited to meet the women backstage after the event. I want to be one of them! How does it happen?
If there is a random selection from a pool of fans, how do I make sure I am in that pool? Are all ticket holders in that pool? My tickets this year are on the floor, does this help?

Any advice, help, tips, etc, would be most appreciated.

More experienced fans can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the ONLY way to meet our grand ladies is to score tickets to a Meet & Greet, and those sell out pretty early in the game and are also not in every city. I think PBS handles the Meet & Greets, but again, someone else can correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Nope, you are correct.  Usually PBS handles the ticket sales of the concerts first and as an extra pledge incentive, they will sell a limited number of Meet and Greet tickets.  Then you are allowed to line up backstage and have your picture made with usually two of the ladies.  You usually will not know which ones ahead of time.  Unless you get lucky enough (cough..Jim) to run into them in the local eatery and see them that would be about it.  However, the girls work hard and they appreciate the down time and just being able to relax so running up to them if you spot them in public is kinda rude actually.  At least I think so. 

I can appreciate your excitement about wanting to meet the ladies in person.  I think everybody on the forum would stand in line in the rain to get a chance.  But that would be a little much.

Welcome to the forum, Bob!  I do need to correct a little portion of Donnis's answer to you (which for the most part was spot on!).  They no longer allow pictures or recording devices of any kind at the Meet and Greets (or the concerts for that matter).  I believe (though not 100% sure) that they stopped doing this in 2006.  Meet and Greet tickets are often, though not always, sold through PBS in pairs, and the two women you meet will be willing to sign a photo or your program or something.  I've been lucky to attend three Meet and Greets and I'm so grateful for those chances to tell the ladies I've met "Thank You!"

If I may add one other thing, on occasion (maybe once or twice a year, as far as how often they've done it), the girls may do a 'signing' somewhere. Last year, they did a signing at Borders in New York City over St. Patrick's Day weekend. They've also done one at Wal-Mart.

I don't know if they will continue doing them at all in the future, I just know on rare occasions, they've done them as I've mentioned here. The signings are generally on very short notice, but if you keep your eyes and ears open and IF they choose to do any more this year, you may get to meet them that way also.

I don't mean to get too far ahead of myself here, but I probably am a bit anyways ;) Anyways......along these same lines, IF, and I repeat, IF the new dvd taping will be out at Red Rocks, *watch the dates*. The Democratic National Convention will also be held in Denver this year, from August 25th-28th. Should CW choose to tape at Red Rocks, those of us who will be going to it may well have face big increases in hotel rates because alot of folks will be headed into Denver weeks in advance of the actual convention itself, and the hotel industry is sure to take advantage of this huge influx of people. So IF they say the taping will be at Red Rocks and you are planning on going, get your reservations made asap!

I believe from all the reviews, every show the CW put on has turned out to be awesome! I can't wait to see them again, I hope they return to the East Coast in the Fall. Maybe a holiday concert at PPAC!

What is appropriate?

I've only been to one Celtic Woman concert, so there are MANY here who can answer this better than I, but I'll give it a shot. :)

When I was at the show, I saw people in pretty much everything. Some were dressed very nicely: nice clothes that you'd wear to an upscale restaurant or a nice show or something, and a few were in jeans! I'd say, however, that MOST people were "casual nice," as in not formal, but not in jeans either.

I think it always depends on what city you're in and what the age group is too. I think dressing up a bit is good, quite personally, but whatever you're feeling confident and relatively comfortable in is probably fine.

for me it depends on whether I'm back in the audience and anonymous or front row and/or meet & greet. If I'm just in the audience I'll wear something nice but casual. If I'm going to be seen and/or meet them I figure I owe them my best since that is what they give to me each night. So, I'll dress up.

I wore my black CW polo and some tan slacks to the show last week. But I agree with Moscapoet, I was in the audience, and it was casual. But if I ever have the good fortune to attend a Meet and Greet, I will wear my best!

All I can say is that Máiréad and Órlagh couldn't have been kinder or more caring in Chicago.  Órlagh held both my hands in hers, stared into my eyes intently, and lectured me about how I have to take care of myself, and neither of them paid a bit of attention to what I was wearing.  Of course, I wasn't dressed like a bum.  I wore decent slacks and a sport shirt.  But I honestly believe they're far more interested in the person than the outfit.

Rich is absolutely right.  Even so, for myself I just prefer to dress nicely when going to a show of any sort, but especially one like CW.

I agree. When I went last year people were dressed differently. I think that the girls just want to get to know you and domt worry bout what you are wearing

I like to be comfy not caring what others think. I wear Jeans and a collar shirt to show at the Greek theater outdoors in Los Angeles and the Helix last year.  To me some guys got to spiffy. Some were casual depending to you personally what casual is and some wore pants and T-shirts. The ladies was mix from wow in a dress to shirts and pants ;D

P.S. I went to alot of rock shows  from clubs to arenas to festivals during the 80's to early 90's.

    At the April 1 Louisville show, my mom complained that she was apparently the only one in heels.  Most people appeared to be rather well-dressed, though.  :) 

I always go casual.  Most people do semi-casual. I did see two girls in ball gowns at my first ever concert and was a little taken aback!   :D

lol that's funny. Ball gowns are a bit much, but whatever floats your boat I guess!

    Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but I do wear a coat and tie to the concerts.   I have been lucky, because I do most often have good seats not far from the stage, and I feel it's a matter of respect on my part for these very gifted ladies.

    But in all honesty, it is up to the person what they want to wear.  We each have our own style that we are comfortable with.

With "The High Kings" opening the show for our ladies, has there been any adjustment with the numbers in our ladies part of the  show.   Also, how much time do the "High Kings" have on stage?

Seeing the two groups on the same stage is a dream show.    But then again our ladies need no introduction or audience warm up.   We are already for them when they come on stage.  I still get butterflies waiting for the show to start.

The High Kings do about 4 songs, then CW comes on.  There is no adjustment in the numbers our girls do.  They still do the complete show.

Thank you Jeanine.    I hope the rest of the tour has the same good luck to see them in addition to our ladies.   I believe the "High Kings" are coming to Baltimore sometime in May.

The High Kings are opening for CW throughout the rest of the CW tour, which ends mid-May. My understanding is THK are not doing their U.S. Spring Tour.  It's been postponed until Fall, instead they are huge in Ireland right now and will be doing a tour over there first, starting in June.

I'd like to thank all the forum members who have gone out of their way to arrange group get-togethers at the various concerts.  I think it demonstrates that we are indeed a community, and CW's most loyal, avid fans.  Keep up the good work, gang!

You're right Rich there are folks here who have worked very hard organizing get togethers at the spring concerts. All are to be congratulated. Kudos also to everyone who has stayed on top of tickets so that each of us can get the best seats available as soon as possible. Thanks again Thomas for organizing Toledo and making arrangements with PBS. Thanks again Kelli for getting such great seats for us in Duluth. Kira, hope you enjoyed Toledo.     Hi, I'm guessing "Home Girl" Jeanine :D will be all over this when CW returns to our town hopefully on the next tour but.......what is the trick you all seem to have in getting the great seats all of the time, everywhere.  I' ve had great seats before but I'm concerned about getting 4 together for myself, wife and my two girls without becoming a PBS member twice.  Are you all members of the locol PBS station everywhere you've seen a show? ???

Phil, PBS dose get good seats though alot of them "legal" ticket sellers aka scalpers have the seats from front row to the back of the venue. They charge over face value.

To be honest, I'm wondering about this too. Maybe it's too early to start discussing tips and tricks, since we don't even have any info about a new tour for the US anytime soon, but since the topic was brought up.....

I had 7th row center in Jax, but that was sheer good luck. I looked at the last minute on the FCCJ website and snatched up that seat..I just don't know if I could repeat that luck for a second time.

Is PBS better for assuring really great seats? Or is it better to get on Ticketmaster the very second tickets go on sale? I'm so confused about this! I feel like I need a gameplan!!! I feel like such an amateur, LOL.  ::)

Emily,  when you go to ticketmaster on line for example or to Ticketmaster location the price range is avaliable but the seats near the staqe and other seats are taken ahead of time from ticket agents(scaplers,brokers) from season ticket holders and with connections with the people and venues. So yes you pay above face value. Dose this help?

Usually - and I stress usually - PBS is the best bet for good seats.  We've been disappointed once or twice, but in general you will get excellent seats (often in the pit) by pledging.  Each PBS outlet is a separate entity, though, so there's no hard and fast rule.  If you know the date(s) and the local PBS sponsor, you can often call their membership department and they will sell you great tickets in advance of their membership drive.

That has been my experience on this tour. This forum is invaluable as a tool for getting a heads up about a PBS station selling tickets before the official pledge drive. Yes, the seats may vary but if you get in on it early you should be in good shape. Prices vary widely depending upon the affiliate. I shopped around and found great seats with M & G for $110, $125, and $140 where other concerts were charging $1000. If you're willing to travel you can get some great deals. I also had great luck last year at Red Rocks. Well, not for the rained out one  ::). But the second night of the rescheduled one, which was their final night of the tour, I called ticketmaster four hours before the concert and picked up third row slightly to stage left. So, if you invest some time, keep checking PBS and ticket outlets, and are willing to travel you will get some of the best experiences of your life. It is Celtic Woman. How could you not. I personally don't recommend the "scalpers" who buy stuff up like that. It's like feeding the sharks and you don't have to pay that much if you do your homework.

Thanks for the insight.  I was unaware about calling PBS before the pledge drive.  I have gotten great seats before through PBS during there pledge drive.  I'll stay on top of it when, if, a concert comes to a city near me next time.  Hopefully South Bend, IN again.  I will organize a get together for Forum members if the "Girls" come to my town.

Just to add to this is Radio Stations and TV stations and other people working in the industry and related to it (i.e. promoters, advertisers, agents, music labels, ect....)buy a set of seats in sections and including season holders who also sell them to the public and companies that buy them too. And give them away as perks too. 

How many members are going to the Greek Theater concert on May 17?

I was sitting here thinking about going to it!! I could stay with " Hoosier at heart"  but if I made the trip I would rather go with them to the Long Beach show--- Maybe BOTH!!!!!   ::)  ::)  ::)   We will have a pretty decent rep of the forum there, so I'll probably just stay home and save money and toughen my hands for the taping.  Man, I am SOOOOOO very, VERY,  anxious for THAT.  I just hope they give us a shot at making it the best show--- EVER. I just started a new job for the summer (working retail..oh Lord) and I positively loathe it. I nearly cried today because I really felt like I was doing such a terrible job.

But...all I kept telling myself was that this was ALL for Celtic Woman tickets. With every agonizing moment spent, every customer who yelled at me, every manager who got frustrated with me, more money was being added to Emily's Celtic Woman Concert Fund.

I have a feeling I'm going to get through these few months by just thinking of CW shows all the time, LOL!  :D

I worked several years in retail and it CAN be brutal, but guess it depends on the store and the boss.  Can you get them to play background music from CW?  That should make everyone feel better.

I don't think I can get them to change the music, but I did hear The Corrs today, which made me feel slightly better.

I am saving my pennies to go to the concert at the Greek.  Haven't got tix yet, had to pay rent, but I have been planning on going.  I know that Dianne (L.A. Girl) will be there also.  Believe me, I'm looking under sofa cushions, 'cause I'm determined.  I have to make it to ONE concert this year, and get my CW Concert fix.   I have been listening to Lynn's CD, and she is made of awesome!  Looking forward to seeing her live for the first time with CW.  ;D  ;D

Rich,it is a outside venue and in the pit area and front row there is no barrier. So you can rest your feet on the stage wall. I was there last year front row center area. And the weather will be comfy next month unless a on shore weather happens or fires as last year one week after they were there. Also leave early around 4 pm the latest cause traffic is heavy and is also residental going to the park. And get a parking pass such a VIP or perferred that way you don't get stack parking. And the buses park in the middle of the street and in backstage area. Is a nice place for shows.  Have as I know you will. :)

We're in row AA, seats 103 and 104.  We should have a pretty good view.   :D

Rich those were the seats I had last year! :) Yes the quick park is better a.ka preffered parking or V.I.P parking.  Getting out is one way a bumpy down the hill. Unless repaved after the fire.  Oh there picnic areas too.

Wow, it sounds like parking for the Greek is going to be interesting.  I've never been there, but I hear it's awesome!

When I was at the Greek last year sitting front row pit center. They check the tickets at the entrance inside to get to your designated seat areas.

How did Orla lecture you?  When I met her, she and Mairead was lovely and accepted kisses.  I can't image what type of lecture you would get from either one of them.  Just interestd in knowing.  Thanks.
