Gosh, this excited me, but guess who will still be in school?  It's the week before exams, but so gosh darn close to me!!!  :( 

I sure hope some people can go and spread the Orla love (and I sure hope she adds more dates and comes close again!  :D ;D)!   :)

As Kath said, we'll still be in school, buuuuut, it is on a Saturday.  Although, its about a 3 hour drive....we'll just have to see if she adds anymore dates (SC maybe?).  I want to see Orlagh live for the first time ever this year and since Celtic Woman is out of the picture for the Summer tour this would be awesome and quite possible!

I hope some forum people can get out to see her in Statesville! :D

No, I don't at the present,John. i will investigate. Unfortunately for me, I cannot go to this one because I have a wedding to attend! Plus, it's family so I can't get out of this one...of course, I could persuade them to elope and save money! LOL

It's a little far, but I might be able to make this one.  I'll just schedule a business trip to southern Virginia and take little detour on the way home.  ;D  Hopefully there will be other shows announced soon so I can plan my late fall tour schedule.

OMG! It's a 4 hour drive from where my sister lives! :o :o I have to convince my parents to go on a visit now! :D

  I called the concert promoters (Iredell Concert Assn) about the Orla show in Statesville NC on December 4.
  For $40 ($20 student season ticket if under 18 years old) you will receive a season ticket that includes the Orla show in Statesville NC (and four other shows); OR if you prefer to wait and purchase a ticket for the Orla show only, tix will be available at the door for $20 (box office opens about 1 hr before show starts).  Seats are not reserved, and the auditorium is large enough that the event may not sell out -- but no guarantees that tix will be available in large numbers on the day of the show.  There is not a (formal) M&G, but Orla will probably greet fans in the lobby after the show (expect to be in line a while).
  If you want to order a season ticket for $40 (each adult)/$20 (each student under 18) [there are special family rates for season tix - see order form] and be guaranteed a seat, you have to send a ticket order form along with a check/money order to the IREDELL CONCERT ASSOCIATION (no credit cards, no tax, no shipping charge).  Here's the PDF file to copy:

  If you decide you want to get a ticket at the door, bring $20 in cash.  What else?  Parking - no charge, auditorium has limited space in front and a large parking lot in rear.  Oh yeah, you can order season tix at any time (now or even after the season starts), but they will not be mailed until September. 

           Some considerations:
           The lady I talked to, Ms Whatley, doesn't expect this to be a sell-out; she says the auditorium is large.   ;)   
           These ticket prices are rediculously low espcially when you consider that the crowd will most likely be small. 
           Being able to buy a ticket at the door means you don't even have to decide now  ::) , but the advantage to
           purchasing the season ticket is that you will be able to skip whatever box office line is there and get a better
           seat  :D .  North Carolina in early December may have cold, even snowy conditions, or maybe not  ??? . 
           

     Thank you so much for this wealth of information, Ganconagh!  The low price for tickets ought to encourage some to undertake the travel!  Everyone should take a close look at their ability to attend this one!  It would be an ideal opportunity for a forum event!  And those of us who braved the threat of winter weather on December 4, 2009 in Cleveland ought not worry much about those prospects for December 4, 2010 in North Carolina!   ;) ;D

Thanks, Joe, for the info!  That is good news for us.  We have plenty of time to figure out if it'll work for us or not.  Then, if Orlagh doesn't come any closer to us, and we can make it to the show, we could just head on up there that day and get in.  :D 

Oh, it would be awesome if we could do it!  To see Orlagh live in concert would be a dream come true! We'll just have to wait and see! :)

   That's the spirit!  I will have a similar drive.  But the memories of the show will be around long after the hardships of the trip are forgotten!  ;) :)

I'm only an hour and a half away from me and the show is on a Saturday!!! This is perfect!!! Let me think about it for half a second...okay - COUNT ME IN!!!!! After seeing Orlagh once, I made the decision to ALWAYS try my very best to see her if she comes within like 5 hours of me lol. I just can't pass up this too good to be true location and timing  :D

December can not get here fast enough!

I was all set to call my niece, who lives about 40 minutes from Statesville, to invite her to be my guest for the concert if I could be her guest for the weekend, but realized it's the same weekend as our annual (for over 7 decades) family reunion, so all of us will be in Alabama that weekend.  I am so disappointed.  She was fantastic in Altanta last year and I will do my best to get to her concert somewhere.  I know it will be wonderful.  Congratulations to all of you who are getting to go.

Bummer!! But I think it's nice that your family has had an annual reunion for over 70 years and it's still going strong. Good for you guys. Let's hope that there will be plenty of other Orlagh concerts to attend in the fall/winter!!

Gee, If my son was not deploying to Afganistan I could have talked my wife into going to Knoxville TN for a christmas visit and a place to stay and then to the concert in NC.
Hope Orlgh is able to get to Denver or some where closer.  Have fun at the concert guys. ;D

How did you get your tickets?
I called the number and was told I had to buy a membership then I could buy the tickets at the door.

I printed the PDF file, filled in my name and address, mailed if off with a check ... took about a week to get the ticket back ...
the membership is good for all the concerts but I am only interested in Orla's :)

  I talked to the concert lady again today (Monday, 20 Sept), and she told me that season tickets are selling briskly due mainly to Orla Fallon's large fan base.  The concert committee is so excited by the response that they are now seeing the real possibility of a sell-out for Orla's show!   :o  Something to consider:  this is an 800-seat auditorium, but ticket sales are so good that there is no longer a guarantee that a large number of tickets will be availabe at the door; additionally, admission will be season ticket holders first, then single-event tickets (so even if you get tix at the door, you will be seated after season ticket holders). 
  Season tickets are still available ($40 adult/$20 student under 18), and the site has now added PayPal and credit/debit card payment options for on-line purchases.

  It's clearly gonna be an advantage to have a season ticket if you want to get a seat closer to the stage.  With a crowd of the size they're expecting now, any meet/greet, whether in the lobby or by the stage, will be an ordeal, so practice being patient.    :)

      Thanks for the tip!! I've just ordered a season ticket as a result!   Those of us at the Nashville filming on September 2 experienced the unpleasant sensation of seeing hundreds of ticket holders let in ahead of you!  We came out fine, thankfully, but it's an experience I don't want to have again!  Let's get our $40 season tickets and get in there as close as we can!!  ;) ;D

 I think "Orlamania" has begun!!! ....of course, we have been smitten with our girl Orlagh for a long time but a whole new slew of fans are about to join the club!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

You Lucky people.  I was talking to one of my host last night about the concert in statesville she did not realize they had a auditurium.  They live in NC.  They are about two hours from statesville.  Now she is trying to talk her husband into it.  Something tells me he'll put on a front for awhile and then give into her.  Wish I only lived two hours away.  Say if Orlagh came to Denver its only a little over three hundred miles.  Have fun all you lucky people. ;D

  I talked to one of the concert sponsors this morning, and she said that fewer than 80 tix remain for Orlagh's show in Statesville NC!  That means this will be a sell-out (800 seats, general admission).  If you wanna go and have not purchased a season ticket, don't make a long trip expecting to be able to get tix at the door.  (If you still need to order tix, you should probably call the concert sponsors first @ 704-876-1004; the website is www.iredellconcerts.com.)  The program should include Christmas music and non-seasonal songs, too; and there should be an intermission.  Orla will be signing items at the concert.  (Of course, Orlagh would probably sign stuff at a traffic light that had just changed to green. :D )   
 
  I talked to a Borders lady, too.  She said there were no notes (so far) for the Orlagh signing at the Charlotte store on Dec 4, so you should be able to get items signed that you did not purchase at that store.  She didn't say anythng about a quantity limit -- but please don't take everything you own that is Orlagh-related.  :D

I am getting so excited!!!  That's so awesome that there aren't many tickets left!  Go Orla!!!  And yay for including some Christmas music in the show as well!!!   :)  And, thank you for the info for Borders, too!  I was wondering if there were any rules about what could be signed.  Kris and I don't have the Celtic Christmas DVD or CD she filmed with Meav, so hopefully they will have it there, because we definitely want to buy it!  As of now, all we have is her Winter, Fire, and Snow CD to get signed!  (And possibly The Water is Wide CD? I just got an email message from Joan Harrelson, of the Iredell Concert Association, saying that Orla's Christmas Concert this Saturday (7:30 pm EST) at the Mac Gray Auditorium is sold out!  Based on earlier communications with the Association, I suspect this may be their first sold out Concert.  Since the seats are not assigned, I'm planning to get there early to make sure I get a good one, and recommend you do the same.  Moreover, I hope to see many Fellow Forumites there.

Its actually a High School audiorium. Obviously a very nice one! I think the seating is 800 but I couldn't confirm that. The night is described as "An Intimate Evening with Órla Fallon" on NC events pages all over the internet.

WOW!  That is not what I was expecting for a high school auditorium.  I wish I had a reserved front row seat; I'll just have to get there extra early with the rest of you!

Anybody have a guess on how early to get in line?

  Those center-stage-view rows look like they're 16-20 seats across; so the front three rows will go to the first 50-or-so folks into the auditorium.  Lining up by 5:30-6:00 should put you in the first 50, don't you think?  ???
  This will be Iredell Concerts' biggest crowd ever.  Normally, their crowds number in the dozens, this one will be in the hundreds; so I hope they have enough ushers to guarantee orderly behavior among us crazed Orla fanatics.  :o         

   As the email said, people from all over the country will be there.   We resemble that remark!   :P :D

I will try and get there as early as possible! I have to work until roughly two o'clock  :( so no signing for me...but my mom and I plan to leave early enough to get good seats. However, my mom cannot stand for long periods of time so I'm hoping all of you wonderful forumites would be willing to save our place in line if she needs to go to the car and sit.

I am thrilled for Órla too. This reported sellout seems significant to me becuase my perception is there is no PBS in play.

If this is in fact the first Iredell Concert Association (ICA) sellout it seems to me cake and Champaign are in order. A really big sheet cake that boldly says SOLD OUT ON ÓRLA and a few bottles of Champaign (the really big ones. LOL!) Then Órla and the ICA can meet afterwards and celebrate with Órla getting the first slice of cake and the first sip of the bubbly!  ;D

Congratulations to Orla on selling out the show!!! I'm super impressed with how well she is doing as a solo artist! She rocks.

I hope you all have a wonderful time at the show and try not to trample on each other trying to get to the good seats when the doors open LOL. :D

Orlagh was FANTASTIC!!  The show was FANTASTIC!!!  I'm so glad I finally got to meet her!  She sang beautifully and was so kind to Katharine and me!!  I finally got to meet THEE Orlagh Fallon! :D :D :D There really are no other words!

   We folks shown there made up the front row centre section at the show.  We had many forum members on the second row centre section as well, whom I hope will also post with their observations.  

Well I can now say I have driven through snow, sleet, hail and high water to see Orlagh Fallon in concert! My 6 hr drive from Georgia went pretty smoothly until the South Carolina border when the snow and sleet came.  Let's just say we DO NOT see snow in South Georgia so it was exciting until the 7 car pileup in front of us happened.  Thank you Lord my truck was not involved but several people were taken by ambulance as we waited for emergency personnel to clear our lanes.  That being said it was well worth it to get to see Zee & Kelli and finally meet Starman & Mr. Peabody.  Orla was as always excellent and I loved the dress she had on but she truly amazed me by remembering me from Savannah over a year ago.  Whatever she's taking for her memory I want some!  I did get a chance to chat & snap another pic with her so it was a great night.  Someone asked after the concert would I drive that far again...Absolutely!

It was great seeing you at the concert. When we didn't see you at Borders, Kelli and I wondered what happened. Glad you made it safely.

As to Orlagh's memory - I agree, it IS amazing!!

Zee Sorry I missed the signing at Borders I have read it was awesome and I did arrive home safe.  No snow in South Ga today!

The lady in the front row that is listed as "I appologize I didn't get her name,"  is Beverly Krebs (bj1111purple).  She was attending the concert on her birthday and lives about 50 miles from the venue.  She was thrilled beyond belief when she fould out that Órlagh would be appearing so close to home on her birthday, and this opportunity to meet Órlagh, and then be surprised that Kelli and Zee were there has got her on cloud nine!!!.

Bev has lost her log-on information for the forum, so I'm passing on her name and information, so she can be identified and recognized.  Wish that I could have joined you all, but  I hope to have the opportunity to see Órlagh in concert sometime in 2011 a little closer to home.   Thank you so much John and Mike for sharing your observations with us.

Kristine and I are working on a review, but since this is exams week, we probably won't be able to finish it until Thursday!  But, we just wanted everyone to know!  We definitely want to share our experience with everyone.   :)

   We look forward to it, Katharine!  I wish you all could have waited around for the group photo! 

   Thanks to you Gary for ID'ing Beverly for us!  I've modified the post to include her name now.  She certainly was an active participant there and on the front row during the show!  8)

Take your time ladies. Get those all important exams behind you then let 'er rip! ;D

We were there!  We didn't know you were!!  We thought you all had left and were wondering why no one said goodbye!  We were sad.  :(  But oh well.  We got to see Orlagh again and take one last photo and chat for a few with her. :D  As Katharine said, just have to get these exams out of the way and then we'll get the review posted!  It will be so much fun re-living the experience as we type it up! :)

Kristine and Katherine, I was so glad to finally get the chance to meet you both AND your lovely Mom. We wondered where you had gotten to! We never would have let you leave without saying good-bye. Sorry!
