I am extremely delighted to hear that Alex will be recording a CD!  I do hope it'll be available in the U.S. :) 

I'd also would like to hear her sing the Voice and Caledonia. :D  I've been curious about it for the longest time and since she has such a pretty voice, I know she'll do them well. :)  But I'm fine with whatever she chooses.

AWESOME!!!!!!! I wouldn't mind hearing her sing Caledonia, (I know she could pull it off beautifully) but since that song is already covered why not ignore it and do songs that have yet to be covered? I know she could sing the Voice beautifully, but it just doesn't seem like an Alex song to me for some reason. You know how some songs are just not right for certain singers even though they could pull them off amazingly? Or is it just me? Caledonia I can picture her singing, but I won't be disapointed if she doesn't do it.

First, let me say that I am absolutely THRILLED to hear that Alex is working on her solo CD!  I will be anxiously awaiting the chance to buy it and I'm sure I will love it!  The woman has an amazing voice and will do a wonderful job!

What she includes on the CD is going to depend on a lot of things, and we need to remember that, while we have come to love Alex as a member of Celtic Woman, that is NOT all she has, or can, perform!  One of the big influences will be who produces the CD.  If it's connected with Celtic Collections (which is strongly possible, since they have done something with all of the girls ... except maybe Deidre, I'm really not sure about that) then we'll likely see several Celtic style songs included.  If the production is through someone else, the focus may be on more of the songs from her stage performances.   Alex has also mentioned herself, in a past interview, that she would like to do an album of Christian songs, so it could be that as well.   Any of these, or with a mixture of them all, it is going to be a fantastic thing to have and to hear! 



Just a reminder that some of us, those lucky enough to attend concerts during the time Lisa Kelly was on maternity leave with Ellie and Alex was filling in for her, HAVE heard Alex singing both Celedonia and The Voice!  She was amazing with both songs, but that's no surprise.   Like most of us, I will always associate those songs with Lisa, as I heard her singing them first, and they "stick" in my memory, but that should never make us close or mind, or our ears, to another singer.  Alex sang the songs, using the arrangements David had written, but she never tried to "be" or to "replace" Lisa.  There were subtle differences which made it clear this was a different singer, and was just as beautiful as a piece of music.

I would really love for her to record True Colors. Because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that song!! and her version was so beautiful, but they never recorded it!

                Celtic thunder also did a version of it with the whole group also!  It's good too!  Alex would do a good job on it too on it and I definately would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear here sing it!!!!!

She should do at least a few LDS pieces too, though most of them would work best if she has a chorus sing with her: "Come, Come Ye Saints," "Let the Mountain Shout for Joy," "Oh My Father," "The Spirit of God Like a Fire is Burning," etc.  There is also a piece called the Oratorio from the Book of Mormon, but I do not know if it contains any arias that fit her.

Alex actually did sing "The Voice" on tour when she was filling in for Lisa during maternity leave.  Trust me when I say that she did the song quite beautifully!  While I will always associate "The Voice" mostly with Lisa Kelly, I would have absolutely no problem with hearing Alex include it on a solo CD.  The only question would be whether she uses David's arrangement, or if she has another one to record.

One of the Mods. has been in touch with Alex and they have come to an agreement. The agreement is that when Alex is ready, the Mod will set up a thread where people can post questions that don't invade her privacy and then the Mod will send the questions to her and she will answer and then they will be posted in that thread.

She is still working on a deal  and very busy at the moment.When deals are made we will hear from Alex,we have to be patient i think.

Sorry to say so but due record deal issues there will no cd recording for now.

I saw her sing it 4 times in 2008, the last time at the Greek Theater in L.A. for the last show of the tour.  She was great!  At the end of the song, the first fan standing was an Old Fat Guy.  (I think I was second.)

I hope she will record it.

I hope My Heart Is Home Again is on it too. I remember that Órla wanted to have her cover of Fix You on her album Distant Shore, but she said it was decided later that it didn't fit in the albums theme. They released it later as an Itunes exclusive. Even if My Heart Is Home Again will not be on the album, there could be a chance it will be released as an single, or put on another album. I have no idea, I know she said she is still working on it and getting it finalized.

She posted on Facebook in March that she was working on "last minute details," and that it would be released "this month." But it's April now, so I guess there has been some sort of delay. Not sure why.  :-\

It will be released on Monday digitally and physically.

I wish I had the money to get it.  :(

Hmmm... It came right up when I searched for it. Maybe it didn't show up because it is brand new? Sometimes stuff like that happens (and not just on iTunes), but it gets fixed pretty quickly.

Loving the whole album, but His Name and Be Still My Soul are just incredible. Definately worth the wait.

I think the reason I got it early on the french iTunes was because in France, it was already april 7th, while in the US, it was still April 6th. Sometime, very rarely, we manage to get things before the US (The latest Captain America movie opened here earlier, for example). But that's very rare, the opposite is more common.

Alex said if you want an actual CD you have to order it off of her website, It works a lot better if you have a pay pal account.
Which is easy to set up and you can get it autographed from Alex herself.

Alex is her usual kind and thoughtful self. On Facebook, she apologized to the folks who had trouble with the site's shopping cart to buy her CD.

Fortunately, it worked for me - ordered my signed copy.   ;D
