Rich and I are happy to announce the first ever CelticWomanForum.com DVD Premier Chat!

October 2 is the release date for the DVD here in the U.S. and we will be hosting 2 3 live chats that week.

The first one will be the night of Tuesday October 2 at 8 p.m. Central.

The second one will be Friday October 5 at 8 p.m. Central

The third one will be Friday October 5 at 10 p.m. Central

The way this works is that anyone who is interested will be in the chat and in front of their TV's at the times listed above. We will have a new room in the chat just for the event. Everyone will start their DVDs at the same time (around 8:05 8:15 or so) and we will chat about the show. There will be a 10 minute intermission between The First Noel and The Wexford Carol.

If it does turn out that the international release date isn't October 2, and there is enough interest, we will hold another chat for our international forum members.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Update 10/1:

Tomorrow's the big day! To make sure that everyone has a good time here a few rules for the chats.

• Don’t P.M. Mods in the chat unless absolutely necessary, they need to be moding.
• No spoilers! I know that some will have watched the DVD before the chat, but some people won't and would liked to be surprised.
• Stay on topic. The chat is about the DVD, if you just want to talk about anything the main room of the chat will be open and you can do so there.
• Remember, the forum rules also apply in the chat so please be respectful.

If you break the rules you will get one warning and then you will be kicked from the chat for the remainder.

Unlike the ANJ DVD this DVD goes to the menu first, it doesn't automatically start with the show. So please be ready at the menu when we start at 8:15.

One last note, there will be an international DVD chat held whenever the DVD is released internationally. As soon as I have a date I'll post it

Ok, as you've probably noticed by now the server didn't like the chat. So there is only one room in the chat and it will only hold 13 people. This should stop the server from giving us that error.

In order to avoid the problems we had yesterday, we're going to change things a little for Friday night's chat. First thing, there will only be one room in the chat on Friday and it will be for the DVD chat. So no general chatting, sorry. Second, we're going to have to limit the number of people who can chat to 14. I know that's not a lot so in order to make sure that everyone who wants to participate can I'm adding an additional chat that will start 10 p.m. central. So if you want to participate in either one of the Friday night chats either P.M. me or post here with which one and I'll start a list. Also, if you want to attend both or if you came to the one yesterday and want to do it all again that's fine. Just let me know.

I'm in this sounds great.
I may be wrong, but most of us are listening to them most of the time anyway. To all be in sync would be great! Most of us seeing it for the first time. Even better! I may be at both. This is a prime example why this forum is so great.

Sorry to be negative but will most of us have our copies by then?  If the local Walmart or Best Buy have them in stock on the release date their is no problem but a lot of my collection had to be ordered on line and then mailed to me.  Is this the purpose of the second chat on Oct. 5?

Would love to join you. Unfortunetly,I will have to wait until Christmas itself before I get the Dvd. My first concert in August of 05 was an early Christmas present. My second concert this past April was a birthday present. All my cd's and Dvds have been Christmas or birthday gifts. I have even given the cd's as gifts to people before I had my own. Very Depressing. To all of you that do not have to wait,MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found all my Celtic Woman CD's at bookstores such as Barnes and Noble.  I'm sure they will have it on the release date.

Bruce, that's exactly what I'm going to do.  I'll check Amazon and some of the other online merchants, and if I find a better price I'll use them to order Christmas gifts and things like that.  But I'll be staking out Barnes & Noble that morning for my first copy.

Wow that sounds great. I think i can make it to the tuesday one. Im not really good with time zones. If its 8 pm central, does it mean its 7 pm pacific?  ;D Finally I am able to watch a CW dvd with somebody rather than alone LOL.

8 pm Central is 7 pm Mountain and 6 pm Pacific  :)

I had a hard time finding ANJ in Cincinnati stores when it was first released.  It took them about a week to order it from distributors. 

This time, I will go to Borders or Barnes & Noble and preorder it.  They will at least have my coipies shipped in time.  ::)

I hope this solves my problem.  I will have a portble DVD plyer hooked up to a stereo and set up in my computer room.

Despite the fact that Rego has announced a release date of 25 September, the planned premiere chats will still be held on the original dates; Tuesday, 2 October at 9:00 Eastern time, and Friday, 5 October, also at 9 Eastern.

A chat is a chat....I ordered 10 the first go round. They ship on the 25th of September 1day air. I hope to have it memorized by Chat time....unless the moderators establishes a "No watch" policy before chat time....too cruel.

Hehehehehe, A 'No Watch' policy, try to stop almost 500 fans from this forum from watching the DVD as soon as they get it ;) That's just soooooooooooooooo impossible ! ;D I do have faith in our mods and admins ( no offence guys ) but I know I'm watching it as soon as I lay my hands on it ! ( And got my parents out of the way ;D)

Jammalot is right; a "no watch" policy would be silly and impossible to enforce. In fact, I have every intention of watching it as soon as I receive it. All I ask is that those who have already seen it refrain from making any "watch what happens next!" comments during the chat.

BTW, I was KIDDING about refraining from watching it - I have no better self-control when it comes to CW than the rest. The poor delivery person better watch out - 'cos I am liable to rip it right out of his/her hands and run right to the DVD player !!!

I just got an email from rego saying my dvd has shipped. I was just wondering if anyone else has heard anything.
I was already on edge waiting for my tickets which should arrive soon, now I have this. Guess I might as well camp out in front of the mailbox. Then again being in the business I do know a lot of people at the post office. Maybe I'll just go there at 4 every morning when the mail gets dropped off, and help them sort it. I'm sure it's only a little illegal. ;D

I called Best Buy  and told the stores will not stock it unti later in the month. Only mail order now. Borders might have in stock.

They didn't yesterday at Borders. at least in Arizona

I called Borders near me and was told they ordered 10 of them. So I will be there when the doors open tomorrow morning. I also ordered it today through Amazon.

Just because I'm curious, when you ordered it through Amazon today, what was the estimated shipping / delivery time they gave?

Estmate delivery by Oct 5. Hopefullt not DHL >:( My last ordered showed delivered but I didn't get so I called DHL and Amazon about. Amazon sent another cd by UPS that I got. It was the New Journey from Japan. It has 4 extra tracks.

I also had no luck calling Best Buy. He did say that they may have them on the 18th when they start selling the rest of the Christmas stuff.

FYE (For Your Entertainment) at the local mall is scheduled to get them on Wednesday. She said that they will eventually have some in stock, depending on when they arrive. She was NOT confident that they would arrive on schedule wednesday.

I will call Wal-Mart & Borders tomorrow and see what they say.

The extra tracks for New Journey form Japan are Somewhere- Live & Sing Out.

I looked over on the girls Japanese website (http://www.emimusic.jp/st/artists/celticwoman/ (http://www.emimusic.jp/st/artists/celticwoman/)) and looked that their cut of ANJ (http://familyclub.ne.jp/shop/ProductDetail.do?pid=21591 (http://familyclub.ne.jp/shop/ProductDetail.do?pid=21591)). There aren't any new tracks on their version. As far as I can tell, the deluxe version wasn't released in Japan other than as a US import. So the regular version of ANJ is the only version that is available to Japan. There are only two tracks that are different between their version and the U.S. one, Sing Out! and Somewhere. In the U.S. Sing Out! is available on the deluxe version and Somewhere is available for download from iTunes.

I know but I pefer that Japanses releases. Since I used to work export of music and other facets and is in my blood :) The OBI has pics of the on the front. The OBI is a band used on cd's, lps, and tapes that has the info in Japanese and Chinese with other info of albums and contests, etc,,,  :) ;D

And the first album from Japan has 4 extra track compared the US & Euro pressings that have two.

That's why I always try to buy CDs and DVDs online.. you can make sure you're getting the best version with any extra tracks or bonus features or such :)

Sadly, I think I'm going to have to buy the Christmas DVD at walmart.. but I don't think there's any danger with this one ??? (in that there's only 1 version.. right? :P)

You should call first and other stores in your area. I have the Tiawnese pressing of New Journey as a cd/dvd combo with big book and few more pics than just the cd.

I am going to Borders tomorrow and orderd it through Amazon today. I still think about it when I was there and giddy to see them close up again happy :) :) :) :) :)

All I can say is.....WOW!!!!

Well I saw my top of my mullet :D still reflecting in the dim light near the front of the stage from the top of theater. While watching it and the edits to the audience I saw some people I was in line with.

I want to thank Lindsey from the bottom of my heart.  She did a great job tonight under terrible conditions, and those of us who were in  the DVD chat had a great time.

What happened.

Long story short, and oversymplifyiing it.
We had a ton of people all sign on at once, and the chat crashed. At which point Lindsey showed just how amazing she is. The whole thing was back up and running in no time, and we all had an amazing time. I know absolutely nothing about how this all works, but I do know this could not have been an easy task, and it was accoplished seamlessly.
Lindsey thanks again for making last night great!!

Basically, what happened is that too many people tried to get into the chat all at once. This caused us to use more then our allowed amount of server CPU usage. I've updated my original post with how we're going to fix this on Friday.

Also, if anyone was in the chat last night and wants a transcript of it let me know.

When you see the intro,after the sign ins by the ladies & David, you will see:Play Concert,Track selections,Audio Controls,& title &closed captions. Check off what you want & ,viola,words you may not have known,especially to the new songs. I hope this helps. Mc

I may actually be able to join the 3rd chat on Friday, as that will be shortly after I'm home from work (11pm E time)  I'll have to go back and forth between my living room and bedroom since I don't have a way to have both in the same room. :D  I will have watched it already though so I can just turn the volume up and picture what's on the screen as each song plays! ;) 

I don't know for sure about the chat, but I'm going to try to do it at least.  It would be fun to be talking about it and watching at the same time. ;D

I clicked on off but it didnt work. I still see them. Also, I actually want to do a screen grab at one point on Green the Whole Year Long and although the line is at the bottom of the screen when I do it, it isnt on the screen grab, where I want it! I am doing something wrong here, probably something very small and dumb. But then maybe the captions wont appear on screen grabs anyway?
