This is all very exciting! I won't be able to go even though i'll be 2 hours away! I'll be at school in TN. Oh this will kill me! But school and attending class is more important then CW unfortunately. I'm still excited for a new show/dvd. So excited!

CW will be doing a new recording DVD and TV special for PBS  SEPTEMBER  6 and 7  in Atlanta

have our ticket already by way of PBS atlanta the 6th only  have to use ticketmaster for the 7th

Congrats to all those who will go.  I may join you, but September 7th is impossible for me, and Sept 6th isn't looking good either.  I doubt there will be a next time of doing this on American soil, so enjoy if you have the means.

I think that the DVD has a bigger meaning when it's recorded n Ireland, but I'm happy for my friends in the US.

And to be honest, I hope they don't record You Raise Me Up again. I love this song, but it's already in all DVDs.

I kind of agree.  I understand that it's a special song to a lot of people (and to me--it was my first CW song!), but I'd like to see something new. ;)

I agree with you.  YRMU is a huge part of Celtic Woman and should stay that way.  :)  I'd be really sad to see it go.

By the way, I have a really important question.  When you buy a ticket, is that ticket for just one of the two shows or does it cover both nights?  I know that's a stupid question but I really need to know.  Thanks.

According to someone on the Mairead Forum, that ticket is good for one night only, unless you purchase tickets for both nights.  You might want to call the venue and/or the PBS stations to be 100% sure, though.

You have to buy a ticket for BOTH nights. I pleadged through PBS for a pair of tickets for both nights...$200 per pair for the 1st night and $160 per pair for the second.

We (my parents, cousin and I) are definitely going to try to make it. My cousin's husband works for an airline, so she can probably get us "buddy passes" for the flight down to ATL. I've got classes on Tues. and Thurs. but I don't have any on Wed, so that's really good! We might only be able to make it to the Tues. filming if the tickets aren't good for two nights.

You have to remember. All the other tapings were Production tapings. Those tickets were free as long as you could get there.

This sounds like they are going to try and tape a real concert with nothing but fans in the audience. They are actually selling tickets for this one, and also going thru PBS. Whole diff thing. They are doing it over two nights because to get all the diff camera angles it takes at least two shows. One night may be all close ups and the next night maybe all wide shots.

Since we already HAVE Songs from the Heart on DVD, I doubt its going to be the same show.

Also if I remember right, When SFTH ended in the U.S, Scott had mentioned it was the end of THAT tour. So again, sounds like new show, new material, with a few old songs.

I'm basically in the same position as you are... I can afford the tickets (if I get them from Ticketmaster, not from PBS), but can't afford to get there and back... I also don't know if I can go anyways... *sighs*

Does anyone know where the block of tickets ATL PBS has are located for the Sept. 6th performance ? I'm suspicious
because they are only $200 for 2 Tickets plus the DVD.

I can't go... I kinda knew it wouldn't happen, but I still wanted to try... :'(

Hopefully buying thru the PBS station will provide front row (or second).  When I talked to them this morning, they couldn't tell me where the seats were, but made the usual claim of "best in the house."  While I have heard that before at venues, if I recall, the Atlanta show earlier this year did have very good seats for PBS.

I stayed the the Hotel Indigo which is also generally across the street.  They advertise as a "boutique" hotel.  What that really means is small rooms and high price.

While there is a chance the PBS tickets are sold out (I can believe it) the public tickets haven't gone on sale yet (the public tickets go on sale July 28th, regular sale on August 1.  The PBS tickets are typically limited because they reserve the pit and the first like 6-10 row at the Fox Theatre.  Any seat in the Fox are awesome seats though. I am so glad they chose such an amazing venue for this show.  I'll be on ticketmaster 10am to order thursday!! I may be in Pennsylvania for work right now but i will be "going to visit family" that week in GA for this show!!! This is going to be amazing.

I can't wait to see what new music they have in store! I wonder if there will be an additional girl joining the group or not?

GPB is right now showing The Greatest Journey and are offering this package: $160.00 for a pair of tickets for front orchestra seating for Sept 7th. It struck me as a bit funny when the guy said that the tickets don't go on public sale until the 1st- because they are making the tickets publicly available in a limited area -- all of Georgia & the surrounding states that broadcast GPB!

Nashville PBS is also selling tickets for the 7th the second day, $60.00 each or a pair for $100.00 I have both the 6th and 7th now.

Sadly I can't go. I would of loved to spend my birthday at the tapings. Have a great time to those that are going. :)

As excited as I am for a new shoe, I have to admit I'm more than a little bit disappointed to ... but that's just on the personal level.  When it was time for "Songs From the Heart" to be recorded, I made the statement that if CW were to ever record a new show here in the US, I would move heaven and earth to find a way to be there!  Well, here it is, and it is absolutely not possible for it to happen. 

Because of the distance, it would mean a minimum of 6-7 days if I were to drive and 4-5 if I were to fly (which would take a huge amount of mental preparedness for me, I have never flown and don't see it happening unless it's something REALLY special!).  Because I would have to figure out some way to cover dialysis treatments in the midst of the whole thing, the scheduling, along with the expense, is just going to create too many difficulties.

So anyway, congratulations to all of you who are going to be able to attend, it's like a dream of a lifetime event!  Have fun and while you're there, remember those of us who couldn't work it out!

is someone from Germany at the Concert? I really want to go but i didn´t find a cheap flight to America. Does anyone have an Idea how i can come cheap to the concert????

I'm from Italy but I know the problem. I might have the possiblity as my cousin's dad is a pilot but until I get an answer back the tickets will already have been sold out... :(

Flights to the USA are never "cheap". You have to reckon with 800 - 900 € upwards.

I'd like to see a fifth girl myself, but I'm not sure how likely it is. :(  I'm sure if there are any changes to the line-up in upcoming months, they'll let us know.  For now, let's just be happy that there's a new show on the horizon! :D

I have to say, I'm quite happy with the three of them singing at the moment. As was mentioned in other posts, like this every girl has more parts to sing. :)
But you're right, I'm sure as well that they would let us know sometime if there were any additional singers, like they did a vid for Lil Lambe as well, if I'm not mistaken?

Really... really... REALLY wanna go!!!!!!!  :D Probably not possible for me though  :-\ But I WILL be watching it when it airs!!

I would say that it's extremely unlikely they will be adding another girl for the show.  Many of the reasons have already been discussed on multiple threads here on the forums, so I'm not getting into all of them again, but the reality is this:

1.)  They have never added a performer without some type of an advanced notice.

2.)  There is less than 6 weeks until  the filming itself.   Unless David already has a new girl lined up right now, it would be extremely difficult for him to find one, Write (or change existing) the music to the group songs to blend the new girl's voice with the rest in the best possible way, write (or change existing) any solo songs for this performer's own voice, have time to work with the new performer, in addition to her rehearsing with everyone else, and still allow for all the rest of preparations, including stage design and creation, finding and working/rehearsing  with an orchestra (assuming they use a live one as they usually do) and all the rest of the hundreds of bits of work that we never hear about, but which are required to record a new show.

Jamie and I are coming!! Yay for a US taping!!  My ears are finally recovered from Jamie screaming at me over the phone to call Atlanta PBS.  We have tix for both nights of the taping and we have both confirmed that we will be off from work on those dates. I'm very excited for the experience of a CW taping!

I have been reading the thread, and I'd just like to point out that a DVD taping with an all-American audience is gonna be AMAZING!!  Think about how much more energy the girls have with a good audience.  When the audience gives them genuine love and encouragement for their performance, they rise to the occasion and give it right back.  While the girls always put on a good show, Forum Fests have always been better concerts, in my humble opinion, for that very reason.  It will be interesting to see if it comes across on TV and on the DVD.

A PBS site has listed 'Believe (working title)' as the name of the new taping. That would be a cool fit!  :D

Well, it says working title so it's probably not sure yet  :) I'd love it. It has the same poetical function as ANJ and SFTH.

Scott has said on Twitter that the show will be staring LK, LL, Chloe, and Mairead. So no fifth girl.

After seeing them live doesn't it bother me anymore they are just with 4 girls. It really works. And it might mean more solo's for the girls in the new taping  :) Of course I won't complain if there is another girl added, but if they would I think they would have done it by now.

I cannot wait! I'm gonna cry beacuse new songs finally and we could hear Lil Lambe sing again! And the second reason i'm gonna cry is I cannot go to the show, i am stuck here in NY. But I hope they show it here in PBS (NY) before September 22nd because I leave on that day to return to the UK for school.  :'(

When SFTH was to be recorded, it was first believed to be the IOH DVD that was being recorded. With that logic, "believe" may be a miscommunication.  Until i see an offical announcement from CW, i wouldn't trust any "tentative title" yet. 

With that said, I can't wait to see the show myself! got tickets for LRC Row FF :-D front balcony, 3 sections off center stage 5 rows back (there are 6 sections from center to each side in the Loge level (LR A-F and LL A-F)for those who don't know the Fabulous Fox Theatre.)  This is going to be awesome!

I think a better name for the new show could be found (and possibly hinted at) in the announcement "the concert will reveal what is destined to mark a new chapter of musical enchantment." any thoughts? "Celtic Woman: Enchantment" seems very plausible to me

It has been two years since the last taping, so who knows with what great arrangements and songs mister Downes will come up with!  ;D I hope the stage and production will be a bit more modest and sophisticated than SFTH, but of course it's the music what counts. And the Fox is absolutely gorgeous.

Yes I think PBS will broadcast the show, they already do that with the old DVDs. We can also hope for some videos published by EMI on Youtube, in November 2009, EMI has put "Nil Sé'n Là and "Non C'è Più" followed in the next few days by the other songs of the DVD : Songs from the Heart.

Usually PBS does a broadcast in late November, early December...hopefully they will continue with this tradition...

According to that website, the DVD will be available in December!!! AH!!!! Hopefully before Christmas!!! That would be about right, because SFTH was available to us in December. Cant wait, this is exciting!!!  ;D

PBS will probably offer the DVD as an enticement during their December pledge drive (i.e. begathon).  :D

It's quite likely that they'll also be offering tickets and M&G passes for spring 2012 tour dates. Anyone excited for that? Hehehe.....

I just pledged for tickets for the 6th and am working on getting one for the 7th -- now if my dispatcher will cooperate, I will get paid to drive to Atlanta to see these shows. 
I just went through the various threads on this topic and it looks like more than 60 forum members/family/friends will be there.  It should be a lot of fun.

I think this DVD will have the best audience because it's really a huge reunion of Celtic Woman fans, I so wish to be with you. :( ! I can't wait to know how was the ambiance :D I think it's really a chance to show to the girls how much we love them :D So guys be the best as possible (standing ovation when it's possible haha)

aww!  Wish I coul go! (school and work it would be next to impossible!) But, it sounds great!  And very likely for a 2012 tour!! And when pbs did a begathon for celtic thunder I was highly suprised that the first thing out of the guys mouth was that they were coming in december (unlikely to!) So I have my fingers crossed for the girls!! But, I wish the most excitement for everyone going to the taping!

Speaking of December.  keep your ears open for news regarding any type of promo type of thing where the ladies go to PBS stations for the pledge drives. I am thinking its a greast bet that at least one of them will do such a thing here in December since  they are here anyway for the Christmas concert! I realize that the timing would be tight and it would need to be taped, but it could be done.

umm, you know the taping that is happening in Atlanta  September6th and 7th....Lisa L is going to be in it since shes now part of CW and they are taping that to use for the new DVD...... and yes there will be a CD that goes along with it

I haven't been following this thread or I'd probably already know the answer to this, but does anyone know what they're filming? Is this the symphony thing or something different?

They are filming their new DVD/CD release which will be released in January 2012 and will be their new tour in 2012 as well.

I know this is probably a stupid question but the mention of the Symphony Tour brought it to mind. Will The Fox show have the full orchestra and 12-person choir like they typically have on the concert specials? Cuz I don't know how big the stage is and I was wondering if they could do it logistically.

I wonder if there will be new dresses! AHHH!

I'm really excited about the scenery too. The Fox could be stepped out of a fairy-tale, very beautiful. Wondering how everything will be designed. 

I soooo can't wait to see how the stage is designed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And the beautiful lights!

So, just to be clear, it has been established that this is completely new, right? I heard that it could possibly be a Lullabye DVD, but I'm not sure. And there will probably only be the known four current members. I shouldn't start or spread any rumors so I'll just wait to find out.

I am soo excited for the taping ... cd ... Dvd!  I wil definately go to the concert if they come to Cleveland on tour (new taping =  at least one stop to Cleveland (even if it is the second leg of it!) was going to wait and not listen to the music or see the new dresses until after they come to concert here (might sound crazy) ujst to be suprised but, this sounds like its going to be amazing! The music and the dresses etc!

I'm confused.  I thought that was the name of their Japanese CD???

Someone asked a similar question to Scott on Twitter, to which he replied: "The Japanese Album was a specific localised piece NOT relative to this new product. Japan will have a different title in 2012."

I thought something on a similar line, but national instead of state level. Since its being recorded in the USA and "O America" was such a big success here, maybe we see a return of that song to the set list? And if so, if they do it in front of a USA audience  at a recording, that could really bring the hpuse down!  It could be the night that the lights went out in Georgia!  :o

I hate that I won't be at the taping but I will still order the DVD and get to hear the new music that should of course be fabulous. Interesting to think of what songs they will do and what David will come up for them. Oh and the dresses should be beautiful.

Gonna be a busy week for Atlanta! The Cup race is the Saturday before the taping, Gonna be a lot of extra people in the area that week. It would be cool for a certain group to sing the national anthem and get a little extra exposure for the taping. One can wish right, lol.

less than two days now ... everybody set?

I havent been sleeping well. Been thinking of the show and all the excitement. I fear that it might catch up to me Tuesday night and I'll doze off! Someone please kick my chair or smack me in the head if that happens!  :D   

I asked Scott P about an intermission during the taping and he said there will be a 15-20 minute intermission. :) I figured as much, but I didn't know how that would work since this isn't a regular show. Good to know.

Well, MOST of the audience was.  Some in the pit seats acted like they were asleep.

BTW, I talked with one of the techs out at the truck after the 2nd show -- he told me they also recorded the dress rehearsal on Tuesday, so they have something like 8-10 hours of material from 8 cameras.  This should be a GREAT dvd!

While I never went to speak to them to confirm this, I assumed the folks in the pit were not specifically CW fans, but parents of the choir group.

I very much doubt that.  The people in the pit on the second night were basically wooden statues, except for the two ladies far over to the piano side.  I assume they were representatives of the Atlanta-area companies that donated most highly to the participating PBS affiliates.  I sincerely hope they do use the video feed from the first night shows for participation from the pit area.  If they don't, then it'll basically look like it was taped in Dublin again.

Some of them were GPB employees.  :-\

I know one of them was the head lady from GPB who went on stage before the show.  I could see her clearly -- looking around the audience (as we were standing and cheering and they were all sitting and clapping politely).  They finally stood at the end of the show.

I was loafing in the hotel lobby a bit Wednesday afternoon and observed some people meet to discuss some type of reception to take place in one of the Georgian terrace conference type areas off the lobby. Turns out GPB had some type of event there just before the show, from like 5pm - 7pm. I would guess its certainly possible that they had some type of thing for big donors or for big donations. It would be easy for them to just cross the street in plenty of time for a 7:30 start.
