Recently the landmark Irish band Clannad launched a new, official website. In the websites "Shop" the Rubicon album is listed for $18.00 with a dispatch time of 2 to 14 days. Clannad founding members Noel and Pádraig Duggan present their album Rubicon, a remarkable collection of songs from a lifetime of musical journeys. They have gathered together friends made over the years for a remarkable collaboration of talents. Finbar Furey is the unmistakable singer on the bittersweet love song 'The Bird', while Celtic Woman star Orla Fallon takes the lead vocal on another of the albums high points 'Memories'... Órla is lead on two tracks and prominent in an additional two tracks. This project was recorded long before Celtic Woman and I'm here to tell you Órla's voice is stunningly beautiful! (sigh) The first time I met Órla (double sigh) I asked her to sign the liner from my Rubicon CD. She seemed both surprised and pleased when I presented it to her for her signature. She made special mention of "Memories"... what a beautiful song it is and how much she loved recording it for the guys. This truly is a wonderful album and the songs that Orla is featured on are absolutely beautiful!! If you a true diehard Orla fan, you owe it to yourself to add this CD to your collection. Hughie is my favourite song of the four.
