Title: A Great Year Ahead
Post by: edtom on February 21, 2013, 04:47PM
Until this year, I have been to five Celtic Woman concerts, two in 2009 and three more in 2010. Now that I'm about to retire, I may double that number this year! :D :D :D
First will be Tuesday, March 5, in Binghamton, NY. I just got my tickets from PBS today.
Next, on Wednesday, March 27, will be Rochester, NY.
Then we have the one I'm looking forward to the most. CELTIC WOMAN IS COMING TO MY HOME TOWN, THE CLEMENS CENTER IN ELMIRA, NY, ON FRIDAY, MARCH 29!!!! Can't wait. At least two other Forum members will be there with me. I'd love to see more of you there.
And then I have a ticket to the Tuesday, April 23 concert in Dayton, OH.
I'm also thinking about going to another concert or two, maybe including Bethel, NY.
I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing the lovely and talented Lisa Lambe and Susan McFadden for the first time. Yay!

That's exciting !   i can only make it to the one in  my area -  the Twin Cities. but maybe if I get a raise I can make it to a neighboring state one of these days.   ;D   Good  for you.

Hey! I'll be at the Dayton concert too! Taking two friends and one is new to CW!

With all of the economic uncertainty around I’ve been reluctant to get tickets to more than one show this year (been to 12 up thru now), but I will probably also go to Bethel Woods in June. I love “outdoor” venues, and the site (Woodstock ‘69) has extra meaning to me. Last time CW was there there was a monster thunderstorm blowing the set around during the last few songs - and it added a lot of extra "energy". I think the girls were just happy to be cooled off!

Who knows….. I might just go crazy and get some additional tickets yet.   ;D

From all of the TV advertizing here in Binghamton, I’m assuming that they are having problems selling tickets. I guess its part of the times.

It sounds like a great tour so far with exciting reviews.  I have to wait until May for my two shows.

My sixth time to see Mairead and Chloe; my first for Lisa and Susan. They were all great!

Add another step to my Stairway to Heaven. I'm going to Scranton, March 19.

And i agree we don't know what the girls are upto as much tv wise.  and the girls didn't mention anything? Scott did a good job about keeping us informed and in a timely fashion!! If any one hears anything more let us know!!!

Celtic Woman will be performing at the Boston St Patrick's Day Breakfast. I'm not sure what the link to watch it is.

I've now been to four concerts so far this year---Binghamton, Scranton, Rochester, and Elmira. They've all been fantastic, especially Elmira (my home town) :D :D :D
I now have a few weeks wait until my next concert, in Dayton.

It would be hard to top Elmira, but Dayton came close because.....LISA SAT ON MY LAP!!!!
Now the Magical Journey continues as it's on to Bethel.

Well, my great year has come to an end (or has it?), and it was everything I was hoping for and WAY more. Bethel-great weather, gorgeous and iconic venue, the opportunity to meet several more terrific people, and, of course, a fantastic concert. Since I retired March 1, I've been to six Celtic Woman concerts (and one Celtic Nights show) and I've loved every minute of it.

Where were you sitting for Rochester? It would be funny if we were in the same row and didn't know it.

I was at the left end of the front row center section (not the Pit), right next to Mike Brown (MrPeabody). There were several other Forum folks nearby. How about you?

I was in the front section, Right Center, fifth row on the aisle, at the end nearest the center. Got the tickets from PBS station.

I actually wished I would have been at the opposite end of my row. I would have been about 2 feet from Chloe when she came out for the TAR singing fight. Never occurred to me that the steps down from the stage at that theater are on the sides, not the center.

It's good to know - even though I didn't know it at the time - that I "spent it in good company."    ;)

I know of at least a couple Forum folks who would have been within speaking distance of you.

BTW, speaking of TAR, Mike Brown, who sat next to me, has had Lisa sit on his lap several times (but not in Rochester, because, as you said, Lisa and Chloe came down the outside aisle). And I myself hit the jackpot in Dayton, where Lisa sat on my lap. :D :D :D

Possibly. But I have a problem. I don't like using the terms "Buffalo" and "December" in the same sentence.

Add in a Beach Boys/Herman's Hermits concert for a little frosting on the cake.
