I wonder who the special guests are? :)

I'd bet at least one former member of CW, with Chloe being the most likely.

Lisa can be such a goof, one of the reasons we all love her.  I bet she is so much fun to hang out with.

And Helen not being there would be a shock.

This puts me into a really bad quandary.  I have wanted to see Lisa on stage for so long, and never had the chance with CW.  I had always hoped to see her with a CW anniversary show, but no guarantee that will happen or if I could afford it since they might announce late and airfare to Ireland would be a killer.

Airfare isn't expensive; it is actually very cheap for me.  The hotels in Peachtree City are not high end (but not bad either) and not very expensive for two nights.  But the good seats are pretty much what airfare+hotel would be which is nuts.  Then of course the next weekend is my trip to Dayton to see CW with Sarah.  I've got a week to debate this with myself.

You and me are in the EXACT same boat Eric. :-\ I also wanted to see Lisa K on stage, and the last ONLY chance I had to go see her was in 2010 when they came to my city on the SftH tour, back when my family was financially hurting and couldn't afford it, despite my insistence to go :'( :'( :'(. Something inside of me told me "Go See CW" but I didn't and I regret it ever since. We are hurting financially again, but we can make it from month to month, but there's no extra cash to use on going to see Lisa K at this event or if there was a 10th anniversary special and travel to Ireland.

Even our CW tickets for Saskatoon are on Credit, but it was concert I was not going to miss after I was the ONE who suggested it in the first place. ;D

I wish I had the money to go see the concert since it's only about a 2 hour drive from where I live.

I think they'd go fast anyway.

If anyone here does decide to go, let me know.  That would be one factor in my decision.  I hate going to concerts alone, but for Lisa, I would.

I wish I could go, but I can't for 2 reasons.  One, it's too far away, and two, it's too expensive.  So I hope it'll be recorded.

i more than likely will not go. Sounds like fun though. Airfare and going alone are not a good thing and plus 2 woks later I'm going to radio city which was stressful enough getting tickets! I hope whom ever goes writes a revise/ pictures taped or something!

Considering who those fans likely are, I would not want to sit with them.  (I'm not referring to anyone here, but to a small group that likes to try and dominate Twitter.)

Since regular seats are only $50, I could do this trip for almost nothing since I can apply my FF miles to the airline ticket.  No way I'd buy a table for just myself.  If 3-4 others were coming, then maybe a table with the cost split.

Just seeing Lisa would be worth it.

As long as I'm in college is a trip to The States impossible anyway, I also still want to see a symphony show. This sounds like a great production. Even if they're not planning on recording the whole show, there's always a chance a few video's or pictures will show up. To the people who are able to go, have a great time!  :)

I think we have one person from here going so far, Roy, my fellow Texan.  I'm still debating it, but I did book a hotel just in case since Peachtree City only seems to have 1/2 a dozen or so hotels.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

Aw I would LOVE to go! I've always wanted to see Lisa live  :(
Why on earth do I have to live on the other side of the world ... I adore the pre-press picture  8)

EDIT: I've just priced together flights, hotel & tickets (went gold ha!) I only need 2,393 GBP without including spending money  ::) sure I could afford that in about 5 years hahaha... May have depressed myself slightly  :o

I would dearly love to go, but it's just 10 days before Williamsport - don't think I could swing another flight to ATL financially, or in getting time off work so close to other vacation days. It's killing me, but it doesn't look like I can make it.  :(

They must have starting selling tickets earlier than the 9:00am web release (probably by phone) because when they appeared online, center section had the first 5-6 rows sold out or nearly sold out along with other seats randomly gone.  No way in 10 seconds that many could have disappeared.

Well, after a lot of debate, I decided to go to this show, even though it means flying that weekend and then flying the next weekend to Dayton.  I just could not pass up the opportunity to see Lisa in person.

Even if she does the 10 year anniversary show, there is no guarantee I could go to that, and I couldn't assume she would be on stage again at an opportune time.  Lisa is why I am a CW fan, and have always regretted not being able to see her on stage with CW.

That said, everyone should answer "Scott Porter" and not just Scott.

I agree! I'd love to enter, but even if I did win (which would be a very slim chance) it would cost a ridiculous amount to get there :(

I agree I thought the same thing to!  I was like if I win I have to buy airfare and hotel and car etc! kinda expensive since I have to fly to Nyc a few weeks later!

For any of you considering flying in to attend, this is an EASY drive in Atlanta.  Location is a much bigger concern when driving in Atlanta than actual distance.  The airport is SW of the city and Peachtree City is on a line SW from there. You are moving directly away from traffic.  I live in metro Atlanta, I'm going and my drive will be worse!

For any of you going, stop by table "M" and say hello.

I was in seat A 13/14 for that show, but I must have missed the screaming lady, such a shame.  There was a quite knowledgeable fan sitting behind me explaining details about the ladies to the people sitting next to him.  It was a bit irritating to me at times, but hey, he was doing a great job promoting them.

Yeah, I don't really like people who take obsession to the level where it is annoying or even rude to others.  Hopefully everyone at this show will be courteous of those around them, but I suspect there will be a few who will not.

Hi. I know that this is much later than it should be but timezone is an important thing to consider here. I remember when I wanted to see something that started live online at a certain time but I think that it was in Eastern time zone and I had thought it was a different time zone. Not sure that I missed much anyways. But I thought that I'd bring that up that 9:00 am could have been a different time zone than you were thinking it was. Not that it really matters anyways.

It's a shame that the concert won't be recorded. I wish that the powers that be would change their minds about that.

I wish so too. Should we all go on Twitter and try to convince Lisa K to record and release the show? If she knows how much it would mean to her fans, why isn't she doing it? Who cares if it costs $10K (picking a ballpark number here) to film and edit the show? The community and fans will eat the DVDs and Blu-rays like hotcakes for breakfast and will easily re-coup the costs!

It may come down to copyright issues. If they're performing a lot of covers, they may have obtained the rights to perform it, but not to record them. In most cases, the original artists/copyright owners will charge more or not allow their songs to be recorded.

I think it's reserved for zombies.  :D
Or zebras. ;)
Zowie! I hope time zooms by and doesn't zigzag until zero hour arrives for the concert. I won't be as zany or zealous as some of my zoo mates, but I'll feel like a zillionaire at Table Z zoning in to the zenith of beauty and talent, Lisa Kelly.

You going to be at table Z as well or is this another Z joke?  ;)

I'll be a Table Z.

Weather forecast is not looking very good right now.  40-60% chance of rain/T-storms.

I am likely going to have a hard time getting out of  College Station since our airport cannot handle operations during bad weather.

Yeah, but it worries me.  I won't go out there if there is lightning.  Nothing is worth getting killed over.  Rain is one thing; thunderstorms are another.  I would hope they would cancel if it was really bad.  My even bigger concern is the airport here in College Station.  They will shut it down if the weather is bad and I don't have a huge window to make my connection in Dallas.  Hopefully the forecast will improve.

When is the concert? Their predicting severe weather again from Texas to Georgia on Thursday

Saturday

Severe weather starting Wednesday in the Texas panhandle, western OK, and such.  It then moves east Thursday and Friday (hitting my area late Thursday/early Friday, my flight is at 6:00am on Friday) and then moves into the SE on Saturday night which is when the concert is.

The forecast here is getting even worse.  High risk of severe weather on Friday with possible tornadoes.

Title: Re: Lisa Kelly doing a new production: Lisa Kelly-The Voice of Ireland

At this point, I do not think I will be going.

90% chance of storms in Peachtree City on Saturday and high risk of severe weather here in College Station on Friday.

I am beyond feeling sick right now.

Thanks everyone.

Right now the forecast is just too fluid.  Some for Peachtree City have improved, same for some for College Station.  Others have not.

I see this all the time when I am planning my regular weekend trip to Dallas which needs perfect weather with clear skies.  The forecasts change so much where it is always Thursday before I can usually make a decision.  Obviously if they call for 100% chance of heavy t-storm in Peachtree City, I'll stay home.  I'd rather not spend the money on a hotel and rental car to not go to the show.  Seeing Lisa isn't worth being out in a lightning storm.  At worst, I'd eat the cost of the ticket which wouldn't make me happy, but it's better than adding even more to it.

My bigger worry right now is getting out of College Station before late in the day.

oh no :( So sorry guys. I know she said it's a go no matter what but if it is  as bad as they say it's going too be (And I have been in those situations before) you have to be careful. She might just delay it till the really bad stuff moves through or if it doesn't (Looks like just a nasty line of storms) Maybe postpone it till a different day? And hopefully it doesn't rain at all! Weathermen up here have said it will be bad at times then it completely misses us!  And in the south it can rain for an hour and then be beautiful the next like nothing ever happened! So fingers crossed for everyone going and saying a prayer for everyone and stay safe and safe travels!

Thanks.  Weather still could go either way depending on the website you look at.  Nothing we can do about it at this point.  We got bounced around a lot on the flight to ATL, so bad that the flight attendants had to stop serving drinks (just before I got mine) and I hate turbulence.  My stomach doesn't like it, but thankfully since I hadn't ate anything since 4:00am this morning, noting to make me sick to my stomach.

I'm truly amazed how much this place looks like East Texas.  So many trees you can barely see anything.

I drove by Lisa's school since it is right next door to a Chick-Fil-A that I just couldn't resist going to for a quick dinner.

I was going to snap a picture with my phone, but there were about 50+ kids outside and I'm pretty sure Lisa and Scott were out there with them.  Lisa is pretty easy to spot, at least for me.  The guy had his back to where I was, but I assume it was Scott.  I didn't want to drive close enough and accidently run over a kid, since they so often don't pay attention to cars and like to dart out.  That, and I don't really like taking someone's picture without permission.  A building is one thing; a person or people are something totally different.

Gotta get ready to go.  Doors open in an hour.  Pray the rain stays away.

OMG, my heart is still thumping a mile a minute.

That was the most amazing thing, ever.

Lisa sang every single song I wanted to hear her sing; Caledonia, The Blessing, Fields of Gold, and The Voice.

Chloe was amazing as always, she sang Ave Maria and she and Lisa sang Green Grow the Rushes together.

More in a minute.

Cameras, while not technically permitted, were all over the place.  I took some pictures with my phone, which I doubt came out, and recorded her singing Caledonia and The Voice.  A few people had real cameras (excluding officials photographers and Lisa's dad) including two people with DSLRs.  (Really? Come on now.)

Scott did a couple of Irish dances, which was amazing to see, and their oldest (his name escapes me @ the moment) did a Riverdance type number with a girl around his age.

In the fall, they're opening up the Kelly-Porter Irish dance academy, which I assume Scott will be running.  Scott is a lot shorter than I thought he was.

Lisa and Chloe looked as beautiful as always.  They changed dresses (from white/off white ones in the first half) to an emerald green one for Lisa and blue one for Chloe.  All the dresses were worthy of a Celtic Woman dress.  Heck, they might have been from tours I never saw in person.

My camera just did not like the lightning.  I struggled to get any picture of quality.  I know it affected a few others from what I could see, but I assume people closer might have done better.  I'm sure there will be a lot of pictures posted all over the place in the coming days.

Here are the only good ones I can think to post, and they still suck beyond belief.  As a photographer I am ashamed of them.  Both are of Chloe since none of Lisa came out @ all.  Might be able to do a little more with Photoshop when I get home, but I doubt it.  Guess in this one I suffered a major case of photographer FAIL.

I'm trying to upload a video of Lisa singing The Voice, but the Internet is slow here @ the hotel.  It came out very well given how badly my photos did.  The only bad thing is I cannot rotate it on my laptop.  The software to do that is back home on the desktop.  I also say "SIT DOWN" several times which the mic picked up after a couple of people stood up and blocked my view.

A few more things I thought of.

The show opened with Scott giving an intro and then Lisa singing May it Be and She Moved Through the Fair.  Dermot's only time on stage was singing with the 4 older girls from the school in the background for those songs.

However, he did lead/conduct some of the students during two songs to the left of the stage, about 6 feet from where I was sitting.

Sitting at a front row table, far left side (although I didn't know it until later) was Lisa's mom, one of her sisters, and some other people I assume were also family.  Scott came out before the show started and was kneeling down on the stage, talking to them for a minute.  I didn't notice a minute or two later that a lady came up to talk to them as well, but she was down on the area where the tables were, not on the stage so her back was to me.  When she turned to leave, I realized it was Lisa.  She was about a foot from me as she walked by to head off to change from a t-shirt/pants to her first act dress.  If I had realized it a split second earlier, I would have said hi.  But my goodness, she is so lovely, even just wearing a t-shirt and pants.

Sorry so much for babbling in numerous posts.  My brain is running in overdrive right now.

I'm sure better videos will appear on YouTube, but if anyone wants to see the two I recorded, feel free to download them.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/ewt6rq15uf3d4oo/LK-TVOI.zip

I'm trying to get them online so they stream, but let's just say there have been a few issues.  I'll have to figure that out tomorrow as I'm beat and going to bed in a few minutes.

Also, please forgive me for being probably the worst cell phone user possible.  I kept losing Lisa during Caledonia because I was watching her instead of the phone.  During The Voice, I whispered "sit down" three times when people got in the way, and I didn't even think about the mic picking it up.  There are also a few noises from others, but not sure from who, just that it wasn't me.

Also, the audio quality is not nearly as good as it was if you heard it live.

Great review & pics!   You got a good shot of the outline of my left shoulder and back of my head in the one of Chloe and the girls and of Daniel taking a photo on his I-phone.   :D

Uh-oh.  I think you're the one I muttered "sit down" about during The Voice, lol.

Main reason I avoid YouTube.  It doesn't take much to get a video pulled these days.

Looks like someone either only recorded part of the songs, or they edited the video to remove some of it.  No idea why.

Just glad I'm not visible on any of them.  I was sure I would be in the first one.
