Title: Stellar voice!
Post by: Naraku_Diabolos on March 11, 2014, 10:53AM
I really enjoyed Mairead Carlin's voice at the Celtic Woman concert. Her voice reminds me of Jewel's, only that Mairead is Irish. I just found her singing so relaxing. After having a long week, it's good to actually hear a voice as soothing as her. She had a very good performance and I found it very endearing. I just wish I could have gotten her autograph as well as the other ladies during the concert :(

She has a lovely voice as do all the CW girls and she can definitely hit the high notes.

Now I know whose voice she reminds me of! The country-pop (I think) singer named Jewel, but Mairead's an Irish version of her. I was just listening to my one Christmas CD (I know, it's March) of Jewel, and I said to myself, "So that's who Mairead Carlin sounds like! Only Irish!"

When it was announced that she was the newest Celtic Woman, the first samples that we heard were the videos on her website. Lovely songs, sung in a soft, breathy style. So I was really surprised when I saw her in concert and heard what a big voice she has when she calls upon it. From what I've heard, she can sing just about anything. Very impressed.

Yes, I remember that on some of the songs she sang (I forget which ones to be exact) she did sing hitting higher notes. Her voice is big, as you did mention. I was impressed, too. She may be petite, but her voice is strong. Mr. David Downes does a REALLY good job of finding talented women to sing for Celtic Woman. So far with every lady he has had for the group, each one has added a certain flair.
