Sad for Amazing Grace and Orinoco Flow still ON The list. :x Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Jonas on February 04, 2016, 06:23PM They aren't doing Mo Ghile Mear this time around. :'( :'( :'(
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Excalibur on February 04, 2016, 07:23PM I wonder if Destiny is a new original song, kinda like Songs From The Heart :O
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Dinozzzo on February 05, 2016, 07:49AM I think Destiny is the intro before When You Go, it was called Terloc something in the DVD, it's just Mairead on the violin.
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: mattycakes on February 05, 2016, 09:25AM They aren't doing Mo Ghile Mear this time around. :'( :'( :'( I just.... I can't even.... WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!For God's sake I could've done without Orinoco Flow! And especially You Raise Me Up! Just bring back Mo Ghile Mear! Title: Re: European Tour Post by: rfcw on February 05, 2016, 04:41PM :) I love Amazing Grace & Orinocco Flow
:) I'm happy about Níl Sen La but shocked they kept it surprisingly instead over Teir Abhaile Riu. :o :( As for Mo Ghile Mear no comment, ;) I like it so much but ten years change is good, look how quick Parting Glass is gone Compared. :( Wow - Looks like When You Go is an intro! ;D Oh BoY! I never got to see Awakening Live! Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Dinozzzo on February 05, 2016, 05:05PM They aren't doing Mo Ghile Mear this time around. :'( :'( :'( I just.... I can't even.... WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!For God's sake I could've done without Orinoco Flow! And especially You Raise Me Up! Just bring back Mo Ghile Mear! Yeah me too, Mo Ghile Mear is surely my favorite song!!! :'( I was nearly sure they would keep it in the show ! I am surprised to see The Parting Glass gone :o Title: Re: European Tour Post by: mattycakes on February 05, 2016, 09:23PM They aren't doing Mo Ghile Mear this time around. :'( :'( :'( I just.... I am surprised to see The Parting Glass gone :o I think Westering Home is considered as the new Mo Ghile Mear/The Parting Glass. I really love this song as well but Celtic Woman and David produced such a unique and perfect rendition of Mo Ghile Mear, at every show I went I was always looked forward to hear and sang along hahaha Title: Re: European Tour Post by: mattycakes on February 06, 2016, 11:32AM They aren't doing Mo Ghile Mear this time around. :'( :'( :'( I just.... It's been around since the first tour and is one of those songs that every Celtic Woman fan knows! Personally, I feel they should've started the second act with Mo Ghile Mear and then did Skyrim. Those two songs would work beautifully together. And since Mairead comes out at the end of Mo Ghile Mear, it'd be the perfect transition into Skyrim. Plus it's my favorite CW song! It's the song that made me fall in love with them! Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Danny on February 06, 2016, 02:03PM Act I is done in Köln. It has been amazing so far. Some songs have slightly different arrangements compared to the Destiny CD which makes them even better. I See Fire for example. The new arrangement of Danny Boy is my favourite of all arrangements so far.
Lookimg forward to acr II Title: Re: European Tour Post by: ShiningBright on February 06, 2016, 03:06PM I'd have much rather kept Mo Ghile Mear than Amazing Grace or Orinoco Flow!
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: avalonfreak06 on February 06, 2016, 03:46PM Who knows, the setlist may change once they land in the USA! :)
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Danny on February 06, 2016, 04:52PM Éabha sang Harrys Game right before Óró!
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Jonas on February 06, 2016, 06:02PM Act I is done in Köln. It has been amazing so far. You know, with Mairead Nesbitt and the choir. Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Eric90 on February 06, 2016, 08:18PM I think Eabha should sing all of Orla's old songs!
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Danny on February 07, 2016, 01:35AM Act I is done in Köln. It has been amazing so far. The new arrangement of Danny Boy is my favourite of all arrangements so far. Lookimg forward to acr II Was the version of "I See Fire" by any chance similar to the album version. You know, with Mairead Nesbitt and the choir. The arrangement was quite different imo. The song built up more, more orchestra, band and choir towards the end. But no Máiréad The finale is by Máiréad though. Anthony's bagpipe finale goes right into hers. Similar to the finale she did earlier with Mo Ghile Mear reprise, with solos by every musician. Then all the girls and choire joined and they did some kind of When You Go reprise, but without leading vocals, just like the backing vocal. After this Finale/When You Go (Reprise) there was a When You Go Playout additionally. Title: Re: European Tour Post by: ShiningBright on February 07, 2016, 04:18AM Also, I'd have much rather At The Ceili as the ceili song. Nil Se'n La is lovely, but they have done it just too often, while they haven't performed ATC in AGES, also it's perfect fro three girls - just imagine Susan as Lisa, Éabha as Órlagh and Mairéad as Méav - and also, they would at least feature one David Downes song then.
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: mattycakes on February 07, 2016, 08:03AM Also, I'd have much rather At The Ceili as the ceili song. Much as I hate to poop on anyone's party, but with David no longer being affiliated with Celtic Woman, they may not have the rights to any of his original material.Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Jonas on February 07, 2016, 08:16AM Also Danny, is it really true that Mo Ghile Mear wasn't performed?
Also, who were the band members? Title: Re: European Tour Post by: ShiningBright on February 07, 2016, 08:33AM Also, I'd have much rather At The Ceili as the ceili song. Much as I hate to poop on anyone's party, but with David no longer being affiliated with Celtic Woman, they may not have the rights to any of his original material.I highly doubt that, otherwise they couldn't use his arrangements either. Also, just because he is not actively working with them, doesn't mean he would take all song rights away from them, considering he wrote the songs for them. Title: Re: European Tour Post by: rfcw on February 07, 2016, 10:37AM I don't seem to see Danny Boy on the setlist, :-* NOW, I can't imagine there being another new arrangement even better than the SFTH version although Si Di M was a Major surprise! I loved it even more than Ore Se B.
Westering Home is being as a replacer more for The Parting Glass to me rather than Mo Ghile Mear, but TPG worked So---So well for a farewell for concert audiences from a show! Title: Re: European Tour Post by: rfcw on February 07, 2016, 10:43AM As if Mo Ghile Mear couldn't get a newer arrangement, I'm more surprised Si Di M the newer now Destiny version is no where on this tour looks to be. I figured someone could take over but as it being a Meav present, seems otherwise Meav gave us the last bid farewell for it since it's not on tour anymore the old version has been presented since it's presence back on the Emerald TOur til now.
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: rfcw on February 07, 2016, 10:50AM ALSO> Look's like Dulaman is out too .., so no Mairead C perhaps it didn't fall thru.
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: barb kantartzis on February 07, 2016, 02:58PM My fav is mo ghile mear which should always be kept as a closer at least. Taken dulaman out I can deal w and a few oldies. Maev probably wanted it to be as new as can be w only one or two new areangements of oldies. The last 3 tours here were all te same music so I think she wanted to vere from that.

I think that was my second favorite Orla song (behind Innisfree). Such a beautiful and truly haunting melody. Though I must admit I am still deeply saddened and disappointed at the departure of Mo Ghile Mear.
Hey btw! Did the girls don any Ceili dresses this tour? If so, for what? Due to the spacing of the songs, the only place I can see that happening would be Tir Na Nog going into Danny Boy and then Nil. But personally I don't think it looks as good singing Tir Na Nog and especially Danny Boy in anything but their full-length gowns. Title: Re: European Tour Post by: rfcw on February 08, 2016, 11:14AM I'm particularly curious how many dress changes. (?)
CWX had four (4) which was ((Outstanding)), unlike the normal 2 with 1 ceili dress. Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Danny on February 08, 2016, 11:17AM there was one dress for each act, as far as I remember.
Act I (https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/12661828_10153901688167838_3631735200517470527_n.jpg?oh=b6b941eee473ef4394d88e0341ed1dd8&oe=5764F012&__gda__=1462621047_438516d331abed858a0c972cd096f08a) Act II (https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/12651264_10153910790857838_4736608057798766431_n.jpg?oh=d0a387c4a8f346ea1dbcca3128b68ef0&oe=573AC8A3&__gda__=1466890342_328e7002756cb9ffb051d758fe59202a) Title: Re: European Tour Post by: ShiningBright on February 08, 2016, 11:48AM Interesting: Máiréad N is wearing a necklace in the first picture, and in the second one all the other girls wear a necklace like that, but not Mái N.
What about the ceili dresses? Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Breno on February 08, 2016, 12:10PM There's no Ceili dresses this time.
And I think that's a good change! Title: Re: European Tour Post by: ShiningBright on February 08, 2016, 12:38PM So, they sung Nil Se'n La in normal dresses? What a pity :(
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Breno on February 09, 2016, 02:22PM Éabha deserves a better solo than How Can I Kepp From Singing... Maybe Down By The Sally Gardens, On Raglan Road, Ae Fond Kiss...
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: ShiningBright on February 09, 2016, 02:38PM How Can I Keep From Singing is a WONDERFUL song and she has three solos, anyways.
Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Breno on February 09, 2016, 02:50PM How Can I Keep From Singing is a WONDERFUL song and she has three solos, anyways. How good you like It! I wish, but I cant share this sentiment with you. Im so happy she has more one solo and a half, I could listen to her all the time. ::) Title: Re: European Tour Post by: mattycakes on February 09, 2016, 03:25PM Éabha deserves a better solo than How Can I Kepp From Singing... Maybe Down By The Sally Gardens, On Raglan Road, Ae Fond Kiss... Her version is the more traditional version. Must admit I'm more excited for her other solos, but it's not a bad song. But I REALLY love Walk Beside Me! Title: Re: European Tour Post by: Breno on February 09, 2016, 03:29PM Éabha deserves a better solo than How Can I Kepp From Singing... But I REALLY love Walk Beside Me! Me too! I ADORE Walk Beside me. Stunning! And I'm so happy for her signing Harry's Game, one of my old favs. I just think it would be even better if she sang something like the songs I've mentioned before instead of How Can I. (That is not a bad song! I just don't feel connected with it). But it's just my opinion, obviously! :))) Title: Re: European Tour Post by: mattycakes on February 09, 2016, 10:10PM Éabha deserves a better solo than How Can I Kepp From Singing...
