Title: Tara Art Post by: CWazyTom on September 22, 2016, 10:32PM It doesn't have to be "fine art."
Any Tara-related art will do. Here's a pic I did to support the Tara forum. I think there's a lot of neat things we can do with a dedicated forum, but we do need to have a strong fan presence in there to pull it off. Thanks to everyone that's followed the Tara forum on Facebook and Twiiter. That's been solid support so far. We do need more traffic in the Tara forum itself though. If there's anything we can do to make the Tara forum more inviting, please let me know (PM me if you're not comfortable saying it on thread). I really want to know. Thanks and enjoy my ... err ... "art." Title: Re: Tara Art Post by: CWazyTom on September 23, 2016, 10:53AM Aww, thanks.
The original pics I spliced together are beautiful anyways. Title: Re: Tara Art Post by: Emer Dreamer on November 27, 2016, 12:08AM Aww, thanks. It's hard to miss with beautiful source material. ;DThe original pics I spliced together are beautiful anyways. Title: Re: Tara Art Post by: CWazyTom on November 27, 2016, 12:12AM I've been playing around with some graphics to help promo the Tara forum.
I made this one by splicing together one of the Destiny backdrops with a picture of Tara. (https://s5.postimg.org/674v6ltlz/Tara_Tir_Na_Nog1.png) It was kind of a crude splice-job, but it turned out better than I was expecting, so I tried posting it on the Tara Forum Facebook page. Apparently Facebook has really specific requirements for picture dimensions because it insisted on cropping this one to a square, which chopped off the edges. So I moved some layers around, resized some things and cropped it to a square and voila... (https://s5.postimg.org/x68q1rg2v/Tara_Tir_Na_Nog2.png) I liked the first one more, but sadly Facebook did not. It's a graphic, not really art work. The result of the second one was a bit sloppy, especially on the blending. After cropping, it basically ended up being Tara's picture with slightly different background colours and some forum text. Lol. I know we've got some super-artistic people here (I've seen your banners, lol). Would love to see some of your Tara art. :D Also, if anyone's interested in doing some graphics for the Tara forum, that would be much appreciated. I'm not good so it takes me a really long time to make even simple graphics like a 2-photo-blend-job. Title: Re: Tara Art Post by: CWazyTom on November 27, 2016, 12:17AM Aww, thanks. It's hard to miss with beautiful source material. ;DThe original pics I spliced together are beautiful anyways. It does make it easier. Still, it takes me a long time to do these. I'm not very artistic (well certainly not visually artistic). I can't clearly see what I want it to look like in advance. I have a general idea, but then it ends up being a lot of frustrating trial and error before I end up with something respectable and call it "art." But at least I'm better at computer graphics than I am with hand drawing. My goodness the stuff I did when I was in school was hideous. Lol. One step above stick people.
