Hey Everyone!

Órlagh has given us her blessing to proceed with an Official Fan Club for her!  To that end we have some fabulous contests newly announced on her forum.  More information will follow in the coming weeks, but this is to put you all "on notice" to put on your thinking caps!  Here's your chance to be a part of Órlagh history!  There are three contests...one for naming the Fan Club, one for creating a logo/graphic for the Fan Club, and one to create an actual Postage Stamp.  So, watch her forum for upcoming details...

I have got my thinking cap on and jotting down some thoughts for the name of the fan club. As for the logo, you wouldn't want to see what my drawings would look like!  ::) ::)

I'm so happy about the fan club. I probabally won't be coming up for any names because I'm not that creative. By the way, my mom helped me order an Orlagh CD last night and I can't wait till it comes. ;D :)

LOL. Kathleen, I will get my crayons out of mothballs and give it a go - we can always call it "modern art" !!

How'd I miss this?  How exciting, I've already got a submission in the works...now where to put it?   :D

there are two pictures of Órlagh with her harp I would love to use for the contest, but they are both on the official Celtic Woman website. They are the only two online that I found with the harp that I like. Would I be able to use those? If not that's ok I will keep looking, and if anyone has pictures of her with her harp can you point me in the direction of the pics?

Dakota, I'd email CW Ltd and ask them if you could use those pics. They're really nice people there, and would probably say yes.

    2BOB has come up with the great idea of posting reviews and rating reviews on Orla's CD on Amazon.com. You may visit and rate his review there (I have). It's something we should all do as a boon to our beloved CW artists!  Thanks 2BOB!!  ;D ;D

DUH - I got my class hooked on Orla, I should ask them for names for the fan club, etc., they are very creative!  And best of all, they all love Orla!

Oh, please do that Chava!  That would be so fabulous to hear what your kids come up with!

For Naming the Fan Club put:  Contest 1
For Designing a Graphic put:  Contest 2
For Designing a Postage stamp put:  Contest 3

The deadline for submissions for Contests 1 and 2 is March 31st.  Voting will begin for these contests on April 1st.   At this time Contest 3 does not have a deadline.

    Fantastic!  All you creative types, show us what you can do through Orla's inspiration!!  ;D

There are a little over two weeks left to submit ideas for the naming of Orla's new Fan Club and to design a graphic.  I KNOW there are some incredibly creative people out there.  We're hoping for lots and lots of choices here, so feel free to enter as often as you wish!  ;D :D

Is there a size requirement for contest 2? (the graphic)

Here's a quote from Orlagh's forum administrator that'll answer your question:

"For me the larger the graphic the better.   I can always shrink it down to whatever size I need without any problem, but a small graphic cannot be expanded without becoming pixellated (if that's a word).   The basic idea is to be able to use it on many things, from letterhead to mugs to T-shirts."

I'm not aware of an extended deadline.  I think we're just waiting for ForumAdmin to have the time to set up the poll.  I'm anxious too!  If the name submissions are any way to gauge it, we have some VERY creative members on Orlagh's forum!

Yaaaaay I have a supporter already! hahaha. Mine is a harp, with Celtic knots, I drew it myself. I think it turned out pretty good, but there's so many directions you could take this contest, it'll just depend on what they're looking for for the new site.

By way of keeping everyone updated...

It's been decided to keep Contest 2 open until after the results of Contest 1 are announced.  This is so people can submit entries for the graphics of our Fan Club using the new official name.  Contest 1 results will be forthcoming from ForumAdmin (and no, I don't know the results, so bribery won't work, but is nevertheless welcome :D  ).

So folks, it ain't over yet!  ;)   If you have an idea for the graphic, but haven't gotten around to it, there is still time.

Since I have already submitted a graphic is it going to hurt my chances if I do not have the official name on it somewhere? I just thought I would ask.

I don't have any pictures, but I love to see Orlagh with her harp !   I think that would make a fabulous logo, so try asking permission from C.W. as suggested already, maybe they would go for it.  Good luck!     Angie Larsen, Ca.
