Hayley will be with Celtic Woman until the end of 2007 and will be performing with Celtic Woman on their tour of Japan, Australia & New Zealand which takes place in November / December. I cannot confirm the position yet regarding tours for 2008.

On the Internet you may like to keep up to date with all the latest news about Celtic Woman at www.celticwoman.com . You will find background details of the artists together with their tour schedule and information on their current CD & DVD. On the home page you can sign up for the newsletter and there is also a link where you can recommend the site to a friend who may be interested in the haunting music of Celtic Woman. Due to popular demand a book of the Celtic Woman music will be published in late September.

For your information, Celtic Woman will be recording a Christmas Television Special later this year that will be broadcast on PBS (in the United States). Full details will be available on the web site at a later date. The Christmas Special will also be available on CD & DVD in October 2007.

First a book then a movie? We can always hope. The only problem I see is how can they do a tour based on a Christmas show or could it be Christmas in late winter, spring and summer of 2008? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I very much doubt the tour is going to be for a Christmas album.  Many groups put them out for that time of year, but they don't tour for it. 

I think they'll be working on other material and that's what the 2008 tour will be about. Maybe another concert taped like Slane was (an outdoor venue), I'd like to see them perform at Cashel Castle ruins (aka The Rock of Cashel).   

What about that semi-tradition of "Christmas in May" ?  LOL - Wouldnt that qualify ?

But I do have a question... who is John Flanagan?  Apparently I have been so busy with school that I've been out of the loop a bit.  I don't even know who is running Celtic Woman these days.  I guess when it comes to the management portion of the organization, I don't really keep up with current events or changes. The most I do is email Alexa once in awhile when I have a question about something. I'm usually more focused on the music and trying to get to the concerts whenever I can.

I hear that Sharon is still with them but that she has taken on a different role?  Is that correct? What about David?  It's very impressive the way the corporate entity has grown since their early inception on PBS.  I hope they stay around for a good long time.

Can't wait to see their Christmas special!

I agree. That's a stunning location.

After the splendour of Slane Castle, it would be a pity of the group were to be put back inside a concert hall for this film.

The most enjoyable video would either be another outdoor concert amid Romantic castle ruins, as Sassy suggests, or a compilation of classical music videos (in the manner of Chloe's solo DVD), with the girls filmed performing their songs in arch-Romantic and evocative locations throughout Ireland.

YAY, CW's making their turning point!!  :D

WOOOOO, YEAH! Now that's some news we've all been waiting for! Oct, eh? Only about 5 months! Looks like we're all getting some early Christmas presents!  ;D  ;D  :o  ;D  ;D

Thank you ladies, you knew just what this old man wanted for Christmas.   Now I have to be good for the next 6 months so Santa does not leave me off the list.   (Ho! Ho! Ho!  looking to pre-order at Amazon, just in case).

Oh ya! Whoo hoo! I can't wait to see the special. But is the DVD going to be out before the special?? Since it is relecing (sp) in Oct 07, does that mean that the special will be on Dec 07, or does it mean we could expect a tv special in a couple of months??? Hm. I wonder. For a start, there will be no concert at the Rock of Cashel, the only place for an audience there is the wonderful Brú Ború Cultural and Heritage Centre which has a beautiful but very small theatre, a parlour for an informal séisún and céilí, a gift shop, museum and cafe.

The name means "Palace of Ború" where Brian Ború was crowned King of Munster in 977 AD and High King of Ireland in 1002.
It was here that Saint Patrick demonstrated the Trinity by using the leaves of the shamrock.

I'd love to see them play in my home County, so would Máiréad I'm sure, but they won't be playing at the Rock!
Maybe Semple Stadium in Thurles.........if we could guarantee good weather! :D

Perhaps not a concert -- but that's assuming that the next DVD will be another live performance before a crowd. If, on the other hand, it is a compilation of classical music videos, shot in various evocative locations throughout Ireland (in the manner of Chloe's solo DVD), then this intensely Romantic edifice would be an ideal choice for one of the backdrops . . .

Yes Anderpaw, that's the place I meant and while Maggie is right, there is no stage area there, they built that Slane one from scratch and I'm sure with the technology today, that it could be accomplished somewhere in that area and I'd love to see it used! *S*

So while it might be unlikely they'd use another castle as a backdrop, it's really not an impossible dream! *S*

Now this Christmas will be more than splendid ;)

hey do you think the Christmas CD might have shooting Star on it?  ;D most likely not but you know Christmas does have to do with a star of course who knows I've never heard Shooting Star might not have much to do with stars oh well just a hope

I believe Orlagh made a request to not perform/release 'Shooting Star' until her next solo album is released.
