It has now been officially announced on the official site that the girls will be filming a Christmas Special in Dublin!! Wohoooo!!
It will be recorded in July in Dublin.
Does anyone know if Hayley will be with them??

Christmas In July
Celtic Woman will be filming their new Christmas Special on the 17th & 18th July in Dublin, Ireland.  We have a very limited number of complimentary tickets available for our fans that are able to come to either show.  So if you would like to celebrate Christmas in July with Celtic Woman send your details to info@celticwoman.com and you might just be one of the lucky ones!

I hope so, and Dierdre too. Would be great to have all 7 at once for a xmas special. Could have some cool catchy title with the year 07 and noting the 7 of them, like "The Magnificent 07 Xmas"

Evidently Hayley has nothing publicly scheduled for the 17th and 18th, so it's a definite possibility (strange phrase, that). :D
So it won't be a collection of music videos after all. Pity. We still have Lisa's DVD to look forward to, though! :)

The shows are on the 17th and 18th of July, and my birthday is on the 20th...that would be an AWESOME birthday present, would it not? Now, I just need to work out a way to get around the $2500 for me and my CW-fan Dad to fly to Ireland...  ;) :D

I can't go! I have summer school Exams on the 17th!

Christmas is coming early this year. I wonder if I could convince my husband that I needed to go Ireland 2X in one summer.

Someone from Hayley-Westenra-International emailed the Celtic Woman management and got an answer. Hayley will NOT be at the recording of the Christmas Special.  :'( :'( :'(

That's okay. I'm sure that it will still be just as breathtaking as an event -- although I wish it had been filmed in a Romantic setting. I will really miss the castle backdrop...

And we will miss Hayley now that they have us spoiled.

 I emailed my bro to see if he wanted to back to Ireland and he hasn't emailed me back which means he won't want to go if it has to do with CW. Whah!  :'(

Brothers can be mean sometimes .... go anyway and make him bow to you lol .... seriously though if you can, go and have a blast.

My brother would go with me, no doubt, but then the airfare is quite expensive :-X

Hayley is not doing anything those days, but oh well.  I'm glad I got to know her much more in CW.  Can't wait for the Christmas special!! (maybe Hayley will be in the audience  ;) )

It'll probably be broadcast on PBS during what Rich calls the holiday 'begathon'.

I enjoy the DVD'S because they have more material on the DVD than PBS broadcasts. They trim it down to fit the time slot. Plus you don't have to listen to the begging for $$$ every 15 minutes or so and that just goes on and on and on.

Folks, I hate to be the one to burst the bubble here, I could be wrong, but tell me, how often does a group do a tour to promote a Christmas album?

That's why I seriously doubt this Christmas in July would be the PBS (BEGATHON) entree.  The stations promote a concert tour by the ladies, so I'm very hopeful that for 2008, the ladies will also be taping something else that the PBS stations will use and will turn into a 2008 tour.

The ladies recorded a Christmas album this past year, but I don't think PBS played it, did they?

They have never recorded a Christmas DVD, only a CD and PBS could not have played it.

I stand corrected Flags, I wasn't aware if the Christmas one was a CD or DVD, I honestly didn't know.  I've only seen the ANJ DVD and I have both Lisa and Orlagh's solo CDS.  That's it!

I do hope I'm wrong, but I've never heard of a group touring to promote their Christmas album.  That's why I'm hoping they'll be doing another special and that's what will lead to the next concert tour.

I feel like a kid, can't wait, for Christmas to get here.   This is really CW's perfect gift to us their fans.   I know I will be stocking on the CDs up for Christmas gifts.

You really should get the Helix Theater DVD. It's quite good too. And if you like Hayley her DVD is great.

Sadly, this makes a lot of sense. BUT, sometimes some groups do things a bit different. Think outside the box type of thing. Maybe this will be something new and creative. Another creative move by David Downes?Probably not, but hey, its a xmas show so we can hope right?

David has said in various interviews that he wants CW to keep evolving and it is hard to tell what he has in store for us.

Well, in a pathetic attempt to lighten the mood, if the girls don't go on tour to promote the Christmas show, who's to say that it won't be made into a DVD? PBS could broadcast that and then sell the DVD's and CD's. If we don't get a tour out of it, which I doubt we will, at least we can see it on TV!

Unless this was already common knowledge---in which case, ignore the redhead shrinking back into the corner...  ;)

Have any of you seen the winter video done by country singer Mindy McCreedy a few years back? Its not really a xmas video, but its a winter theme to it and its the best of its kind. In my opinion anyway. But theres lots of snow, little dogs running in it, horses, its out on a farm somewhere in the hills, so theres trees and mountains, etc.

So yes, Santa hats may be in the mix. Somehow there has to be snow and/or snowmen / snowwomen. Cute little animals would be nice. Presents and kids. Maybe involvement of Lisa's or Meav's youngins? Or other family members, if they put a family theme to it. That could be interesting. There are many possibilities. The more I think about it, the more I can't wait!

You are correct and I admit it. It's all about the girls and not the setting.

But I think setting does play a role to some extent. Since its an xmas program, I dont think sandy beaches, bikinis, palm trees, and ocean settings are gonna fly. Snow, pine trees, presents, Santa Claus, etc. are needed.

I can't picture any of the women in bikinis, Cash. :P
