Well, the girls are all pretty much tailor-made for any kind of "power ballad" type song, but my choices might be as follows:

Lisa: "God Help the Outcasts" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Lynn: "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King.

Chloe: "Your Mother and Mine" from Peter Pan (yes, this one's a little old) 

Alex: "Shooting Star" from Mary Poppins (the musical)

Orlagh: "The Age of Not Believing" from Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Meav: "Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon

I think Chloe and Hayley will perform "When You Wish Upon A Star" from Pinocchio, just like I already posted.

Oh those are great! I have old tapes of all those Disney songs and CW would really make them even more memorable.

I've never really had the opportunity to hear Alex or Lynn but I also think one of them could do "I Won't Say I'm in Love" from Hercules or "Just Around the Riverbend" from Pocahontas

This isn't a Disney song but I would love for two of them to do "For Good" from the Wicked soundtrack. It is the most beautiful song and it has an amazing message. I get chills everytime I hear it and I can only imagine how incredible it would be if they sang it. It would be amazing if Lisa and Helen could do it since they're sisters. How that would be amazing!

you know at the beginning of the Circle of Life, Mairead could play the chanting part on her fiddle and then the choir could join in. It sounds really cool in my head!

Like the idea :D And she could also do loads of stuff in between the songs, Disney songs tend to be very heroic and have a little break in the middle where the singer climbs on something ;)

Coming back to topic, Mairead could play some of the dance or waltz music from some of the early movies, like when Aurora and Cinderella dance with their princes, and she could certainly twirl around the stage as she did so.  Lisa could probably also do "Baby Mine" from Dumbo. 

The finale could be an arrangement of "You Can Fly!" from Peter Pan, which is a great uplifting song about the power of imagination, and that's what Disney's all about...

Please, go back and look at the early movies, again. Whether its A Dream's a Wish Your Heart Makes, Someday My Prince Will Come, or Bippity Boppity Boo with voices, or Ave Maria, A Night on Old Baldy, or The Sorcerer's Apprentice with orchestra, its some really great music.

I would love to hear the ladies perform any of it.

Yup, but it's an awesome song so you can't blame us for it :p I'm going to see The Lion King in London in May (seen it 2 x already in Holland) and the song that makes or breaks that show is the opening number, which happens to be TCOL :D
And other than that, the lyrics are great and match their line of songs.

Oh no, this is more than a CD, this needs to be a DVD, shot at the Magic Kingdom, maybe, just maybe, with some footage of the ladies interacting with the characters, though I'm not sure if the characters should also appear while the ladies are singing. Hmmm (sinks into thought).

I'm sure that the songs Great Spirits, On My Way and Look Through My Eyes from Brother Bear would be wonderful by them! But who singing what... *thinks* Great Spirits by them all? And Look Through My Eyes by Lisa.. that would be stunning.

And the soundtrack of Beauty and the Beast, Tale as old as Time (I dunno or he is called yet) by Chloë and Lynn would be fantastic. Such a mysterious, romantic song ;) Part of that World from the Little Mermaid by Alex, Two Worlds by Lynn and Strangers Like Me by them all.

And Oh, I forgot.. I will always Return from Spirit, by them all with a big violin solo by Mairead ;D

"Once Upon a Dream" - is that the one that Aurora sings in the forest ?  And does really high trills? That's the one I'm thinking of that Meav would be fantastic on with her high, clear, bell-like voice.

Given some of the girls' love of Disney music, I'm sure they sing a little on their freetime (when not resting their vocal chords that is).

Sadly, I think it's more an issue of what Disney would let them sing.  I notice the two songs I've heard them sing so far were done as an end credit song.  Even if they are reprises of songs from within the movie, I think legal ownership works differently on those, since they are usually done by a known artist... perhaps it's a type of cover.  I could be wrong.

I vote for all the disney songs to be covered :D

I agree on both!  David once said Lisa's voice is like a motherly voice, soft, beautiful, soothing....that being said, that song would be PERFECT for Lisa.

I think Chloe would do "Aloha Oe" from Lilo & Stitch just beautifully, with Orla on the harp.  It would have an Irish-Hawaiian mix, which would bring tears to my eyes, as CW always does.

there's so many songs I'd love for them to hear. once upon a dream,colors of the wind,two worlds,strangers like me, and many more would sound amazing for any of the girls

CW should sing a few disney songs one day, it wouldnt surprise me if they did, since alex has already sang You'll be in my heart.

:) I got it! I think Chloe, Lynn and Alex will perform "I Wanna Be Like Other Girls" from the second Mulan film dressed up in ceili dreeses they have worn before; Chloe in red, Lynn in goldenrod and Alex in blue.

Having seen the new Disney film, "The Princess and the Frog", there's one song that I think the girls could do...but I can't remember what it is.  :-[

A Disney ceili number, now that would be awesome!

Somebody mentioned it's small world. I would love for CW to sing the chorus in Gaelic. It's already sung in so many different languages.

And as for the Mickey Mouse Club song, I could think of changing one part,

"Now it's time to say goodbye
to all our family

C-E-L, T-I-C
W-O-M-A-N"

It doesn't flow as nicely but it could work! ;D

Now that we've selected a ton of Disney songs for Celtic Woman to perform, how about a concert that will honor Walt and Roy Disney? My parents told me that Walt died first and later on Roy.

That's true, Walt died in 1966 and Roy O. in 1971, 2 months after Walt Disney World opened. And I think it would be an awesome idea! Hopefully they would include Roy E. as well, as he was vital in saving the animation department in the 80s, and as he has recently passed.

I think we shall be able to ask the Disney family that Celtic Woman will be able to perform for us all in their honor.

Even better! Maybe even offer Diane Disney-Miller front row seats!

Alex's is actually called never never land and I could soo here hear doing that one! 
Lisa would still be pocahontas but I would change it to colors of the wond w/ the strength of her voice

I added in Orla Fallon's version of the "Second Star To The Right" from Disney's Peter Pan. I think it'll go into her album that inspires the sky full of stars.

I think Órlagh's voice would fit that song very well!

Don't remember if this has been mentioned before, but while waiting in line for Toy Story Mania at Disneyland (perfect place for inspiration :D) I was thinking how When Somebody Loved Me would make a great Lisa and David number!

There are great suggestions here around.

But there are two particular songs which I still see returning in this whole topic, Colors of The Wind and Tales as old as Time (theme-song Beauty and the Beast) I think those would be the greatest to do for CW. Both match very good with a female-voice, and both fit perfectly in CW's theme. What do you think about Colors of The Wind for Lynn? She can give it the mystical sound, the song usual has. And I think it would be great to make Tales as old as Time as a duet for Lisa and Alex, a combination of warmth and power  ;D
