I think I would have the opportunity to listen to them all.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: The Quiet Man on February 15, 2009, 10:11AM Well, the girls are all pretty much tailor-made for any kind of "power ballad" type song, but my choices might be as follows:
Lisa: "God Help the Outcasts" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Lynn: "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King. Chloe: "Your Mother and Mine" from Peter Pan (yes, this one's a little old) Alex: "Shooting Star" from Mary Poppins (the musical) Orlagh: "The Age of Not Believing" from Bedknobs and Broomsticks Meav: "Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on February 15, 2009, 11:15AM I think Chloe and Hayley will perform "When You Wish Upon A Star" from Pinocchio, just like I already posted.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: TheChloeFan on February 15, 2009, 03:00PM Oh those are great! I have old tapes of all those Disney songs and CW would really make them even more memorable.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on February 15, 2009, 03:25PM Yeah. We all like Celitc Woman and Disney.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on February 15, 2009, 06:30PM Well, the girls are all pretty much tailor-made for any kind of "power ballad" type song, but my choices might be as follows: Those are all wonderful choices, QM. ;DLisa: "God Help the Outcasts" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I LOVE Disney songs and this would be amazing! Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on February 15, 2009, 08:22PM Orlagh could do "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella. That's an excellent choice. I LOVE Disney songs and this would be amazing! What are your choices for the other girls? Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: lifeismusic2009 on February 15, 2009, 08:43PM so many good songs have already been picked.
Lisa: "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas Meav: "Belle's Song" from Beauty and the Beast or "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty Chloe: "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White I've never really had the opportunity to hear Alex or Lynn but I also think one of them could do "I Won't Say I'm in Love" from Hercules or "Just Around the Riverbend" from Pocahontas Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: lifeismusic2009 on February 15, 2009, 08:53PM This isn't a Disney song but I would love for two of them to do "For Good" from the Wicked soundtrack. It is the most beautiful song and it has an amazing message. I get chills everytime I hear it and I can only imagine how incredible it would be if they sang it. It would be amazing if Lisa and Helen could do it since they're sisters. How that would be amazing!

Who'd do the chanting/belting at the beginning?? ;) Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: raven_christina on February 16, 2009, 11:21AM I'd love to hear them singing The Lion King :D The choir? Probably mostly the boys.Who'd do the chanting/belting at the beginning?? ;) Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: The Quiet Man on February 16, 2009, 11:43AM Well, maybe they can do a one-night-only thing at the Magic Kingdom where they salute the music of Disney and do all of this material. We're a little thin on Mairead material, though.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on February 16, 2009, 12:15PM Don't forget "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins! I think Chloe, Lynn and Alex can perform it. ;) :)

Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: lifeismusic2009 on February 16, 2009, 06:00PM you know at the beginning of the Circle of Life, Mairead could play the chanting part on her fiddle and then the choir could join in. It sounds really cool in my head!
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: raven_christina on February 16, 2009, 08:42PM you know at the beginning of the Circle of Life, Mairead could play the chanting part on her fiddle and then the choir could join in. It sounds really cool in my head! So many jokes, so little time ;) Like the idea :D And she could also do loads of stuff in between the songs, Disney songs tend to be very heroic and have a little break in the middle where the singer climbs on something ;) Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on February 17, 2009, 09:17AM you know at the beginning of the Circle of Life, Mairead could play the chanting part on her fiddle and then the choir could join in. You head has surround sound too? and every now and then remembers you like other music besides CW? :lol:lol :D yep sometimes I think my siblings wished that I played something else in the car too! These are all great ideas and good points! Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: The Quiet Man on February 17, 2009, 06:37PM Coming back to topic, Mairead could play some of the dance or waltz music from some of the early movies, like when Aurora and Cinderella dance with their princes, and she could certainly twirl around the stage as she did so. Lisa could probably also do "Baby Mine" from Dumbo.
The finale could be an arrangement of "You Can Fly!" from Peter Pan, which is a great uplifting song about the power of imagination, and that's what Disney's all about... When there's a smile ;Din your heart, There's no better time to start, Think of all the joy you'll find, when you leave the world behind, And bid your cares goodbyyyyyye.... You can fly! You can fly! You can flyyyyyyyy! Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: 2B0B on February 17, 2009, 07:15PM Or Mairead could play most of the classical music from Fantasia. And some of the early stuff must include Sleeping Beauty with the fairy godmothers singing in three part harmony.
Please, go back and look at the early movies, again. Whether its A Dream's a Wish Your Heart Makes, Someday My Prince Will Come, or Bippity Boppity Boo with voices, or Ave Maria, A Night on Old Baldy, or The Sorcerer's Apprentice with orchestra, its some really great music. I would love to hear the ladies perform any of it. 2B0B Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Wickster on February 17, 2009, 08:14PM Lisa- "Baby Mine" from Dumbo
Orlagh- "Theme from Beauty and The Beast" Chloe- "Good Company" from Oliver and Company Alex- "Love will find a way" from Lion King II Lynn- "Sally's Song" from Nightmare before Christmas [i know bizarre choice..but i think she would do an amazing job with it] Meav- "Belle Notte" from Lady and the Tramp [Excellent choice btw, who picked this one first] Deirdre- "On My Father's Wings" from Quest for Camelot [ok not Disney] Hayley- "Part of your world" from Little Mermaid Ensemble- "Circle of Life" from the Lion King..of course =D Wickie xx Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: raven_christina on February 17, 2009, 11:28PM Oh. Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Lotte on February 18, 2009, 01:30AM Yup, but it's an awesome song so you can't blame us for it :p I'm going to see The Lion King in London in May (seen it 2 x already in Holland) and the song that makes or breaks that show is the opening number, which happens to be TCOL :D
And other than that, the lyrics are great and match their line of songs. Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on February 24, 2009, 05:24PM I think it has to be "Someday" from The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. Chloe has recorded it already, so I think it needs to be listed in track 1.

Hmmm (sinks into thought).

So here are the lyrics:
Meav Deirdre Orla Lisa Alex Lynn Others All Ah, we are the daughters of Triton Great father who loves us and named us well He named me Aquata because I'm the firstborn With brown hair and white pearls as you can all tell He named me Andrina He named me Arista the second and third ones who came from a shell He named us Attina Adella Alana And he named our little sister Ariel In concert, we hope to enlighten The heart of the people with music's swell Aquata, (Ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah!) Andrina, (Ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah!) Arista, (Ah-ah-ah-ah!) Attina, (Ah-ah-ah-ah!) Adella, (Ah-ah-ah-ah!) Alana (Ah-ah-ah-ah!) And then there is the youngest in her musical debut Our seventh little sister, we're presenting her to you To sing a song Sebastian wrote, her voice is like a bell She's our sister, Ariel! Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on April 06, 2009, 08:01AM Oh, I love that! Way to go, Kim!

Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on April 12, 2009, 12:24PM I'm concepting "If You Can Dream"; a Disney princess song, so I have to select Chloe, Lisa, Lynn and Alex to perform. Oh, and here's my arrangement:
Chloe Lisa Lynn Alex Chloe and Lisa Lisa and Alex Chloe, Lisa and Alex Lisa, Lynn and Alex All There is a world where hope And dreams can last for all time My wonderous place to go You'll know it when your heart finds Singing this song as old as rhyme As I jump, I'm gonna fly It's a perfect flight and just a kiss away If you can dream The wish we're making on a star is coming true The land of life and hope will lead My heart right back to you 'Cause if you can dream Reflections in a diamond sky Come shining all through Romance will always be so new And love will save the day If you can dream Someday my prince will come It's certain as the sunrise Once day the slipper fits Then you see the love in his eyes It's the tale as old as time There's no mountain we can't climb When you're finally mine And just a kiss away If you can dream The wish we're making on a star is coming true The land of life and hope will lead My heart right back to you 'Cause if you can dream Reflections in a diamond sky Come shining all through Romance will always be so new And love will save the day If you can dream So the story goes Never die the rose There's a whole new world Waiting there for us Waiting just for us! If you can dream The wish we're making on a star is coming true The land of life and hope will lead My heart right back to you 'Cause if you can dream Reflections in a diamond sky Come shining all through Romance will always be so new And love will save the day Oh, love will save the day If you can dream You can dream... Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: MaryNorth93 on April 12, 2009, 01:07PM Gosh, I haven't seen this topic before ??? I love disney songs ;D
I see most songs are already picked... I'm sure that the songs Great Spirits, On My Way and Look Through My Eyes from Brother Bear would be wonderful by them! But who singing what... *thinks* Great Spirits by them all? And Look Through My Eyes by Lisa.. that would be stunning. And the soundtrack of Beauty and the Beast, Tale as old as Time (I dunno or he is called yet) by Chloë and Lynn would be fantastic. Such a mysterious, romantic song ;) Part of that World from the Little Mermaid by Alex, Two Worlds by Lynn and Strangers Like Me by them all. And Oh, I forgot.. I will always Return from Spirit, by them all with a big violin solo by Mairead ;D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Gail on April 12, 2009, 09:13PM "Once Upon a Dream" - is that the one that Aurora sings in the forest ? And does really high trills? That's the one I'm thinking of that Meav would be fantastic on with her high, clear, bell-like voice.
"Supercalifragelisticexpealidocious" - I can see and hear Mairead in my mind really letting loose on that one, flying all over the stage with it. Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: raven_christina on April 12, 2009, 09:52PM OOOH! Lynn singing "Two Worlds" from Tarzan would be splendiferous.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Trouble on April 12, 2009, 10:08PM Ohh "You'll Be in My Heart".
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: raven_christina on April 12, 2009, 10:16PM ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Yep trouble, that would be a good one. ;D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on April 12, 2009, 11:13PM That would indeed be good. ;D
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Lisa and Helen fanatic on April 12, 2009, 11:29PM Besides the ones that have been performed or are being performed, (though some have been mentioned), this is my list. I'm sure there are more that I'm leaving off. I <3 Disney. But here's what I've got:
Part of your World (Little Mermaid)-Chloe Tinkerbell Soundtrack-Mairead I'm wishing/One Song (Snow White)-Lisa I wonder (Sleeping Beauty)-Meav In a World of My Own (Alice in Wonderland)-Chloe For a Moment (Little Mermaid 2)-Lisa and Lynn (though it may need editing because it's Ariel and her daughter) When you Wish Upon a Star (Pinnochio)-? So this is Love (Cinderella)- ? Lisa..Alex...idk which. Little Black Rain Cloud (Pooh)-Orla Best of Friends (Fox and the Hound)-Alex Goodbye May Seem Forever (Fox and the Hound)-group number Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Jwad on April 14, 2009, 09:31PM This isn't a Disney song but I would love for two of them to do "For Good" from the Wicked soundtrack. It is the most beautiful song and it has an amazing message. I get chills everytime I hear it and I can only imagine how incredible it would be if they sang it. It would be amazing if Lisa and Helen could do it since they're sisters. How that would be amazing! YES! Lisa and Helen should do a duet!!!!!!!! That would be wonderful!!! Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Lisa and Helen fanatic on April 14, 2009, 09:36PM ... It would be amazing if Lisa and Helen could do it since they're sisters. How that would be amazing! I would LOVE to hear the two of them do a duet. I love both Kelly sister's voices and I'm sure they sound fantastic together. ;D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Bluefire on April 22, 2009, 03:17PM So far all the suggestions I've read would be wonderful fits (and I'm glad the orig. poster mentioned "Someone's Waiting For You" from Rescuers. That came to mind immediately!)
A side note (I'll run out of these eventually, I swear!): Mom actually asked me during the Isle of Hope tour show if they would sing "Circle of Life" from Lion King, since the group had the right sound for it. :) Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Vincanity0011210 on April 22, 2009, 04:50PM A Whole New World - Lisa
Arabian Nights- Alex It's A Small World - All I Won't Say I'm In Love - Orla/Meav/Hayley/Deirde Need to come back for a guest appearance with one of them as "Meg" While the rest are the muses :D. The Bare Neccessities - Chloe He Lives In You - All We Are One - All or Lisa/Chloe and Mairead in the background Under The Sea - it would be the next Orinoco Flow so whoever they choose to sing that one. Streets of Gold - Lynn You'll Be In My Heart - Lisa Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: jessicar on April 22, 2009, 06:11PM I agree with everyone who said songs from the Little Mermaid ;D I think they all should sing Under The Sea but who would sing Poor Unforunate Souls ????
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on April 22, 2009, 07:57PM Don't forget "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins! I think Chloe, Lynn and Alex can perform it. ;) :) Haha, that'd be fun to see. ;DTitle: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on April 23, 2009, 02:47PM I also made a version of "Love Will Find A Way" and it's from The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. I think Chloe can sing it with the great entertainer Donny Osmond.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on April 23, 2009, 03:14PM That's a good suggestion, Kim.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: celticheart18 on April 23, 2009, 03:33PM Don't forget "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins! I think Chloe, Lynn and Alex can perform it. ;) :) Haha, that'd be fun to see. ;Dand Chloe can sing Spoonful of sugar too! Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: The Leprechaun on April 27, 2009, 05:31PM Somehow the songs that I'm thinking of don't seem like Celtic Woman songs, like Pink Elephants from Dumbo or Status Quo from High School Musical. Serious choices follow:
You are the Music in Me: Lisa Reflection: Chloe Beauty and the Beast: Lynn Happy Little Working Song: Maried (no words) Part of this World: Alex You've got a Friend in Me: someone The Call: someone Also, someone mentioned that they should do You'll be in my Heart. They do in their new tour. I'm not sure who does it, maybe Alex. Also, maybe they could come up with a random new song called Celtic Woman for no good reason. Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: MaryNorth93 on April 28, 2009, 03:05AM Tales as old as Time, from Beauty and the Beast by Lisa would be stunning... ;D Lisa's warm and romantic voice would be perfect for that. And uhm... Great Spirits from Brother Bear by Orla,
Look Through My Eyes and No Way Out from Brother Bear by Chloë. I love the movie ::) And I think the songs would be gorgeous by them all. And Through Heaven's Eyes, from the Prince of Egypt by them all, that would be perfect ;D Colors of the Wind by Pocohantas, and than sung by Orla and Chloe. They have already prooved to sing fantastic together :D Although Lisa & Lynn & Alex could sing it also very well. Alex could do songs as Son Of Man and Strangers Like Me 8) She sings with very much joy and pleasure. I've read the whole topic, and I saw many songs like Part of Your World, Reflection, Two Worlds & Under the Sea returning.. Maybe someone has to call David :D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Bluefire on April 28, 2009, 05:50AM Given some of the girls' love of Disney music, I'm sure they sing a little on their freetime (when not resting their vocal chords that is).
Sadly, I think it's more an issue of what Disney would let them sing. I notice the two songs I've heard them sing so far were done as an end credit song. Even if they are reprises of songs from within the movie, I think legal ownership works differently on those, since they are usually done by a known artist... perhaps it's a type of cover. I could be wrong. Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: lisalover7 (LL7) on May 03, 2009, 07:53PM I vote for all the disney songs to be covered :D
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Ggunsailor on May 03, 2009, 08:22PM I vote for all the disney songs to be covered :D All of them? :oThat may take a whole anthology of CDS! Eh, it'd be worth it. ;D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Lisa and Helen fanatic on May 03, 2009, 08:29PM Tales as old as Time, from Beauty and the Beast by Lisa would be stunning... ;D Lisa's warm and romantic voice would be perfect for that. I've read the whole topic, and I saw many songs like Part of Your World, Reflection, Two Worlds & Under the Sea returning.. Maybe someone has to call David :D I agree on both! David once said Lisa's voice is like a motherly voice, soft, beautiful, soothing....that being said, that song would be PERFECT for Lisa. And David should read these. Great suggestions all around! ;D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: celticheart18 on May 03, 2009, 08:30PM I want them to produce an album with just Disney songs on it! all this talk of CW and Disney makes me want an actual cd to listen to!
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: raven_christina on May 03, 2009, 08:37PM I was going to suggest a couple of others:
"God Help The Outcasts" for Lynn. "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" for Chloe and Brian from THK to do as a duet. I had a few others, but I can't recall them, lol. Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Lisa and Helen fanatic on May 03, 2009, 08:43PM Ditto Sara, ditto.

Now, I have another concept you'll have to hear. I hope Chloe can sing a song that's called "Mickey Mouse Club". Wouldn't it be more fun? Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Jim M. on September 22, 2009, 04:50PM I think Chloe would have a lot of fun with the Mickey Mouse Club song. Maybe she could wear some mouse ears.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on September 22, 2009, 05:15PM Or a Mickey Mouse T-shirt, I think.
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Lisa and Helen fanatic on September 22, 2009, 05:16PM I'd like to see "If I never knew you" from Pocahontas sung by Lisa with David accompaning her like the Blessing.

I think Chloe, Lynn and Alex will perform "I Wanna Be Like Other Girls" from the second Mulan film dressed up in ceili dreeses they have worn before; Chloe in red, Lynn in goldenrod and Alex in blue. A Disney ceili number, now that would be awesome!Somebody mentioned it's small world. I would love for CW to sing the chorus in Gaelic. It's already sung in so many different languages. And as for the Mickey Mouse Club song, I could think of changing one part, "Now it's time to say goodbye to all our family C-E-L, T-I-C W-O-M-A-N" It doesn't flow as nicely but it could work! ;D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on January 02, 2010, 05:23PM Now that we've selected a ton of Disney songs for Celtic Woman to perform, how about a concert that will honor Walt and Roy Disney? Hopefully they would include Roy E. as well, as he was vital in saving the animation department in the 80s, and as he has recently passed.Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on January 03, 2010, 12:31PM I think we shall be able to ask the Disney family that Celtic Woman will be able to perform for us all in their honor.

(Sorry, don't know what it's called)Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kimberly AJ on January 30, 2010, 03:13AM I added in Orla Fallon's version of the "Second Star To The Right" from Disney's Peter Pan. I think it'll go into her album that inspires the sky full of stars.

Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Kakiya on January 30, 2010, 09:47AM What Disney song would you like CW to perform? Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: MikeyK on January 30, 2010, 11:22PM Don't remember if this has been mentioned before, but while waiting in line for Toy Story Mania at Disneyland (perfect place for inspiration :D) I was thinking how When Somebody Loved Me would make a great Lisa and David number!
Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: MaryNorth93 on January 31, 2010, 08:03AM There are great suggestions here around.
But there are two particular songs which I still see returning in this whole topic, Colors of The Wind and Tales as old as Time (theme-song Beauty and the Beast) I think those would be the greatest to do for CW. Both match very good with a female-voice, and both fit perfectly in CW's theme. What do you think about Colors of The Wind for Lynn? She can give it the mystical sound, the song usual has. And I think it would be great to make Tales as old as Time as a duet for Lisa and Alex, a combination of warmth and power ;D Title: Re: Disney songs...Celtic Woman style Post by: Godshorsegirl on January 31, 2010, 09:23AM Don't remember if this has been mentioned before, but while waiting in line for Toy Story Mania at Disneyland (perfect place for inspiration :D) I was thinking how When Somebody Loved Me would make a great Lisa and David number! I think Chloe and Orla can sing For The First Time In Forever from Frozen. So here are the lyrics:
Chloe: All the bunny rabbits and the panda bear Really need my tender loving care The real ones must be the ones I want to touch So far I had written my own songs Now with the rights I can stop the wrongs Goodness wins for people I love such I'll remember extreme softness Which will really make me bliss Oh, I will heed what I can't resist 'Cause for the first time in forever, I will treasure the real bunnies' love For the first time in forever Heaven will see above The fields of red, pink and purple flowers Will bloom into my way 'Cause for the first time in forever, I'm flying for a day I won't forget those who like me a lot As a best friend that they think they've got They'll call me the swan of wisdom with bright wings Garlands upon my hair can show Beauty that nearly all people know No one can stop me from singing songs life brings I think there'll be organic sugar To make a cake shaped like a heart Which makes the love make two into one part For the first time in forever, I will cherish the real fluffy place For the first time in forever, The fluff will be upon my face We may be split as individuals But in my heart, we'll all be one So for the first time in forever I'll sing songs to the sun Orla: There might be more than just one star I might ask them just where the spirits are Coinnigh do anáil, ní dhéanann deora caoin I may be sad, but I'll will stand and travel on But everything will be just fine Chloe: Everything will be just fine Orla: Hear me, God, that Earth will keep its joy Chloe: And mine For the first time in forever, Orla: There might be more than just one star Chloe: Everybody will all see Orla: I might ask them just where the spirits are Chloe: That my heart is not that different Orla: Coinnigh Chloe: As long as there's faith in me Orla: Coinnigh do anáil, ní dhéanann deora caoin Chloe: So I hope to keep on praying That every family will stay whole And for the first time in forever For the first time in forever Yes, for the first time in forever Both: I will sing my soul |
