So, I did it. Tried the non-fat, no whip white chocolate mocha.
It's not my favorite, but I can see why Lisa likes it. And the no-dairy thing is nice because she can't have any in order to sing. Still, not my favorite.
As my best friend put it, "Tastes like white chocolate dish-water".  ::)

I for one, along with a few others, really like it.  It's the only coffee drink I've tried, and probably the only one I will.  As a general rule, I'm not a coffee fan, nor tea for that matter.  Give me hot chocolate instead or hot cider, any day.  The Lisa Special on the other hand, I truly liked.  I haven't had one for a while (I only get the tall size though, not the Grande), but I'm sure I will have at least one this week!  LOL! ;D

I didn't mind it. I think I might cheat next time and get it with the dairy, just to try it.

I had one and LOVED it! shoulda made it decaf since it was about 10pm when i got it  buuuut still delicious! my fave starbucks tho is the Cinnamon Dolce frappacino

It's more like a white  hot chocolate flavor.

Unless you get it with triple expresso like I do  ;).


I just don't like real sweet things anymore, so I tend to have the LS once in a while.

whip cream makes it way too sweet for me. Yes, when I first started drinking any type of coffee/latte etc, I had lots of sugar, but now that has decreased.

Ok, so when I order a Grande Starbucks coffee, and order it with 5 creams and 5 sugars, believe me, that is how strong that coffee is. The 5 sugars BARELY make it sweet. This is compared to Tim Hortons, where when I get a EX LG coffee I get 2 creams and one sugar, unless its at the TH near me, they do it perfect with 2 creams and 2 sugars.

No Starbucks this morning while I am at the airport waiting for flight to Vegas, cause I refuse to use the ex small restroom on the plane if I don't have too. I drink Starbucks and I may as well sit next to the door  ;D.

I've gotten it hot a million and one times, just got it iced for the first time last week and LOVED it! It's especially awesome on a hot day. I have been dying from the heat lately, and this helped me a lot!

I like my coffee strong, with just a hint of whole milk,  But, I tried this concoction.  I guess we can't list "coffee drinker" among Lisa's myriad of talents and attributes. ;D

I think i've tried it before, but i didn't know lisa liked it.

I'm not really a coffee drinker I perfer Hot Chocolate in the morning. Wonder if Lisa has ever tried one at Starbucks. Its great with whipped cream on top of it.

I love it!!!! I haven't really gotten used to asking for it as the "Lisa Special" just because I don't want to sound weird because they probably don't know what I'm talking about. I tried once though and just got a weird look. I'll say Lisa Special from now on though.

Too bad I don't like coffee and these kinds of beverages.  There's a Starbucks on campus--well, more like a 2 min drive from campus--and I would LOVE to try this.  I'm sure its a bunch of college students who would look at me like I was retarded if I asked for the "Lisa Special."  haha!

Ontop of the Lisa special being the only thing I order from starbucks, I've also been influenced by Lisa to drink more hot tea.  I used to drink it every once in a while but after listening to her talk about how good hot tea and honey is for the throat in the interview with Jonny O, I drink it all the time.  And she's totally right.  It does do wonders!

Lisa had to start drinking Black coffee cause for a while after having Ellie, she was lactose intolerant, but now that she is back to normal and can have her Special, I am wondering if she doesn't add some milk to her coffee now..

I grew up drinking hot tea!  My grandmother did, my mom does, and my sister and I do now!  I drink it every single morning.  haha  I guess you could say I'm addicted.  I can't start my day without it!

Woot! Tomorrow is Monday!  Two weeks ago I deemed Mondays to be my "Lisa Special" day.  So I get a Lisa Special tomorrow!  And then after that, it's once a month on the first Monday of the month I get to have a Lisa Special.  So yay!

I had yet ANOTHER Lisa Special yesterday.  I tell you, I am quickly becoming addicted.  Never did I think I would drink Starbucks, and now I can't get enough!!!!!!!!!!!  Its just so good!!!!!

I love the Lisa special!!!  Never in a million years did I think I'd go to Starbucks, and now I've become "one of those people."  Bahahaha!!!  I never thought anything bad about Starbucks, it just always bugged me when people would tell you how awesome it was and blah blah blah.  It's not something that I have to do everyday, but if I ever need a pick-me-up, I won't hesitate to get the Lisa Special!!!   ;D

We have one right downtown from campus.  I never went before because I didn't drink coffee.  I've always loved the smell, just never liked the taste.  Our dad drinks his coffee black.  Bleh!!  Just tastes like something really watered down!!  So, I never was a fan of coffee, I'm a tea drinker.  I have to have a cup of hot tea every morning!  But, I drink the Lisa Special!!   ;D

I also have a cup of hot tea. Although I hate tea, I have to drink it every morning because of my early morning choir class, but every now and then I'll get a white mocha. But other than that I'm not a huge coffee person. I usua;;y only have it during the holidays.

Awwwwww, I love tea!!!  Not like green tea or anything strange, just regular hot tea!  This semester was the first time I've ever had a full cup of coffee (4 or 5 times now!!).  I mean, I've tried my dad's naturally, but never liked it!

I'm not a coffee drinker at all ... as someone else mentioned, I love the smell of fresh roasted coffee, but just don't like the taste.  I do have a coffeepot in my apartment, for those extremely rare instances I have company, and I've been known to put in a small amount just to have the aroma in the apartment, but I never drink it.

As for the Lisa Special itself, well, the closest Starbucks is around 70 miles away, almost an hour and a half drive ... so yeah, it's not likely I'll be trying it myself.  I do think its interesting reading all the discussions about it, though ... I wonder when Starbucks will actually get with the program and officially start using that name?

Wouldn't that be so cool?  Walk in to Starbucks, "I'd like the Lisa Special please."  And for them to know what you are talking about???  That is an exciting idea!!!  I wonder if there is a way to "submit" a name..... :D

I have given that some serious thought BOTH times that I went to Starbucks...I really should do that just to see the odd looks that i would get....knowing me, I will probably do it a few times just for fun.

My mom would definately use the words lisa special. all of this talk about lisa specials is making me want one. The problem is the only real practical way to get to the nearest Starbucks is by private plane, Which I do not own. Not that there is any airport to park it nearby. Its TORTURE...

At the high rize that my aunt used to live in in chicago, There was a starbucks on the bottom floor. Just go out the appaertment door and you are ten steps away from the starbucks door.

Where at in chicago? remember the place I said my aunt lives where the starbucks is at? that is downtown, within walking distance of the sears tower, John Hancock building, Shedd aquarium, navy pier, ETc. IT has a green roof. I could recongnize it from the air amid all of the high rizes. Yes, I love chicago and want to live there and already have plenty of family there.

I would love to live there. I'm going to try to get a job there after I finish college.

After never having anything from Starbucks before, I decided to give the Lisa Special a try, since there was a Starbucks conveniently located in the market I was in today. It wasn't the greatest thing I've ever tried but I liked it. I'm not a regular coffee drinker, and this won't turn me into one, but it's nice to know Starbucks has something that I like. It turns out my mom has these Starbucks gift cards from like 5 years ago that she never used, so I can get a few more Lisa Specials for free. The best kind. ;D

I heard Starbucks planned to increase prices on "special" orders by about 75 cents, while dropping prices on just regular easy orders by about a dime. Also heard they had a good quarterly financial report.

so there is a way to make the ORIG LKS less sweet, Cause I do love them but can't have them too often cause they are very sweet.  Well except when ICED, then it gets watered down a bit from the ice so it's not too sweet.

I am not much of a coffee drinker. When I was about 12, my mom gave me coffee (maybe that is why i am short :D). I always put lots of sugar and what not to make it taste better.. I prolly put like, a half cup in there :P  I drank it to a point of i hated the taste.  I  do have to say walking down the isle in the grocery store with the coffee beans, i was so... i dono, drool faced? I love the smell of French Vanilla...

Throughout my college life, I see everyone holding Dunn Bro's coffee, Caribou Coffee, and Starbucks.  I wondered why they were so addicted to it. It never keeps me awake... well...  My dear friends, Kris and Kath, kept sayin here and there that I should try the Lisa Special.  I finally gave in on January 19. I was out with my friend, shoppin at Target. We were walking around for a while, and then i said i was thirsty, and I knew I kind of wanted to at least TRY the Lisa Special. Went over to the Kiosk in Target, and first sip, HOLY BANANAS.... i was hooked.. I haven't had one since, but I only am going to treat myself if i do good on a test, Midterms, or something like that :) Although, Today, I walked by three different Starbucks in a 5 mile radius... and I got the hugest craving to have one. But, i didnt get one, because i only brought enough money for a samich at a samich shop near my school.

Anyways, I say, I will not drink other coffee but the LS... It tastes amazing! it has this smoothness to it, that I cannot explain! It is just, delicious!

OMG!! So tonight, I had my very first LKS 1.0!! The nonfat white chocolate mocha?? It was sooo good!! And believe me, I am NOT a coffee drinker. I cringe at the smell of it. I was really worried that I wouldn't like it when I bought it, but I knew that I had to try it for Lisa. ;) And I loved it! I'll definitely be going back for more soon.

my parents surprised me today by getting me a white chocolate mocha without fat, whip, and with soy milk at a coffee shop.... it wasn't the exact same as the Starbucks' LKS, but it was really good. :)

Nearly two months ago i finally got the chance to get a Lisa Special...
Well...
Uhm...
First thing coming into my mind: OMG that stuff is sooooooooooo sweet!!!!!!!! (for that you have to know that i usually have black coffee without sugar and just sometimes with some cream but that's all, so i got a sugar-shock) LOL
Well i drank it all and after the first shock it got drinkable and tasted really interesting!
I can see why Lisa does like/love this drink but i think i will stay with my latte's and coffee's with or without cream...
Lisa you never have to worry about me stealing your Starbucks!!!!  ;) :D ;D

Ahh!! So it was GREAT! Our hotel in Boston this weekend had a Starbucks in the lobby!! So I got to get an LKS EVERY morning!!! I loved it. :) PERFECT way to start each day.

I had my first LKS today... FINALLY!!!  :P thought I'd share what I thought about it:
I took my first sip and was like... OMG  ::) AMAZING!!!! then what came to my mind was: Lisa has good starbucks taste, then I slapped myself and was like: OF COURSE SHE DOES!!! LOL! It was amazing!!! Now my new fav to get at starbucks!!!  ;D

I can't believe this thread came up in my "New Replies to Your Posts" thing.  I was seriously laying in the dentist's office today and my mind was wandering a bit and I suddenly thought about the Lisa Special.  I am reeeeeally craving one.  Don't know when I'll get one anytime soon though. :(

I can't drink coffee, for some reason it makes me sleepy (unlike most people). So far the only drink I got at Starbucks was one of those non-coffee frappacinos (however you spell it).

Soo whenever I go to Barnes and Noble, I ALWAYS get an LKS. I just have to. :P But when I was there the other day, the Starbucks was out of them!!!!! :O I was totally in shock. So I got a chai tea instead. :) And I am just about as much of a tea person as I am a coffee person (in other words, not one at all) but OH MY GOSH!! I LOVED it. IT was AMAZING. <3 But I hope they have my usual again next time. Lol, it was just a refreshing change.

I've never mentioned Lisa's name, I usually ask for what I want specifically. I'm usually wearing a CW shirt and the people at the Starbucks don't say anything about it, so I doubt the people at my Starbucks even know who Lisa is.

I had a Lisa Kelly Special each of the last 3 days to go along with the 2 concerts I went to. The LKS's made the days even more awesome!

I had a Lisa Kelly Special before I had coffee. Loved the LKS, but hated the coffee. I'm not saying you'll definitely love the LKS, but it is possible for someone to hate coffee and love the LKS. I say give it a try, a tall is only $4. I also found I liked the tall better than the grande, though I don't know why, I thought they would taste the same. Good luck!

I have always hated coffee, myself.  But, I absolutely LOVE the Lisa Special. :D I honestly didn't think I would, and was pretty shocked when I tried it for the first time a year ago.  It was the first time I'd ever been inside of a Starbucks!!  I'd get the smaller version like Mikey said.  Although, I think the tall and grande taste the exact same, the tall is just smaller so if you don't like it, you won't be wasting so much. 

Its not for everyone, I'm sure, but I am pretty darn glad that I love it!!  Hope you will enjoy it as well! :)

No need to apologize! It's not a dumb question at all! The LKS is Lisa'a favorite drink at Starbucks. She starts out with a white chocolate mocha, but the request of non-fat and no whip make it a special drink, thus a non-fat, no whip, white chocolate mocha is the Lisa Kelly Special! (and by the way, Lisa usually gets a grande size.)

Tried it today for the very first time. I get why Lisa likes it, but I wasn't wild about it. To quote the first poster of this thread: 'tastes like white chocolate dish-water'  ::) It's nice, but doesn't have a strong coffee-taste and that's the main reason why it's far from my favorite starbucks-drinks.

Well, Lisa likes it. And it can surely be recommend it to people who usually don't drink coffee  :D

If it would have a stronger coffee taste I would love it. Well, my friend who is coffee-hater loved it, since than if we visit the Starbucks she always takes the LKS  :D

Ooooh, you should!  I know I've mentioned this way back when I first tried it, but I am not a coffee drinker!  My dad drinks black coffee, and it just tastes like some strange watered down drink to me.  But, the Lisa Kelly Special has enough other flavors to not taste too much like just regular coffee.  I love it!  And I'm excited to be possibly going to get one on Wednesday!   :)

Closest starbucks to me is like 30 mins away  :(thats the only downfall

Eeeheehee I had a mocha thing from McDonald's the other day, and now I'm not so afraid to get an LKS. I actually drank coffee without gagging!

I had my first regular (as in non-iced) LKS the other day, and it was fantastic!  Perfect for a colder day!  I generally prefer tea to coffee, but the LKS is just so good.

I've always been the same way! Never liked coffee. I drink a cup of hot tea every morning. Our dad drinks coffee, but always black, and I never could stand it (only liked the smell :D). But, the Lisa Special? It's just soooo good!! It's been too long since I had one!! 

I know!!! It's WONDERFUL!! but it's been too long for me too!!!!!

You're a bit better about coffee than I am - I generally don't even like the smell!   :D  But the white chocolate of the LKS makes all the difference!!!

I like both, but the hot tea was definitely an acquired taste for me. As a performer, I was forced to drink it by vocal coaches and theyre right: it really DOES work

I think it all depends on what you're used to! I've been drinking hot tea every morning for as long as I can remember! Our mom always has, so just took after her! As far as the Lisa Special, Kristine and I wanted to try it (OF COURSE-it's Lisa's favorite drink!!  :D), but we were nervous about not liking it. The very first time, we shared a tall just in case.  Ended up wishing we had our own!! 

LOL I wish my twin sister loved CW like yall do! Cause we do stuff like that all the time, but she wont try it cause i call it the Lisa Special  ::)

Aww, well, maybe you can get her to try it with you one of these days!

Funny Story:

           We were at the air port and Dad asked me if I wanted somthing from Starbucks.....I said " A Non Fat No Whip White Mocha" he just looked at me with this blank look. :D

He said he never would be able to remember that :D

Story is now over!  :P

It isn't my favorite, but I get why Lisa likes it. My problem with it is that it doesn't taste like coffee at all  :P

Lisa: I've totally modified 'the special" over the last year! I now get a triple grande, non fat, no whip, 2 pump white mocha!!! Hahaha!

Well I got the LKS Twice in one week!!!!!!!!

I got the modified LKS today (well, I forgot the 2 pump part, but I think they knew what I meant) as my first purchase on my check card ;D It is soooo good! ;D

OKAY GUYS... i REALLY want to try the LKS.  ::)
but i have one slight issue, im not exactly fond of coffee...Does it have a really obvious coffee-y taste to it or am i safe to try it haha!

DO IT! I cannot stand the smell  or taste of coffee , and once in a while drink tea.  Once you tried a lks or any starbucks drink, you will be addicted and not want to drink any other form of coffee products!! You might want to do what I did at first and that is to slowly get into it!  Like the first time I ever had a starbucks I had a vanilla frappuccino (sp) which is like an ice cream shake!  Then order different flavors that you like ... for instance I had strawberry and then mint chocolate chip (yuuummmy!) and then pumpkin spice.  which actually was my first hot starbucks drink, and it was brilliant a few sips of getting used to! and then I had then the mint hot chocolate and then got in to  the lks! I am hooked and I think you wil like it! their is something about starbucks coffee that is different!   good luck!  #  All my starbucks drinks are brought to you buy starbucks gift cards provided by my works christmas party!!

I had my first LKS last night and I thought it was quite delicious. Only was able to finish half, so I got to have the other half this morning :) I will now have to remember the modified version (I out it on the notepad part of my cell phone) to try the next time I am at Starbucks; don't know about the Triple Grande part though.........

awww! I will be in Ny for the concert for a few days so def. Mon. I will have a lks in honor of Lisa and the concert I *Believe!  LOL! #and out of all fairness to airports I will be dealing with in the next couple days cak, lga, and phil.  There better be a starbucks in at least one!
