Lucia Micarelli, wow is she an awesome violinist to watch! I have some of her music. I also have some of Hilary Hahn's music.

I only know this because last night, Trouble linked me to a YouTube video interview. And the answer is yes. She toured with Josh. Personally, I voted for Hilary Hahn. I might have voted for Paganini if I'd, say, been alive to hear him play.

Yes, you can nominate people and even start your own category. To do that you need to register and than it tells you how to nominate others. I registered last night. Also, I found that if I delete my history, I can vote again and again.

Have you noticed that you can open multiple ballots for each visit?  If you open a ballot, don't vote immediately.  Go back to the link, and open another ballot.  You can now vote twice (or however many times you opened ballots).
Now the question:  Do you think every ballot you just voted on got counted, or was that a waste of time???  I think they are counting, but I'm not sure -- the tabulation wheel spins.
In polls like this, for every vote, the pie gets bigger, so individual votes carry less and less weight; so you have to vote more often to make a dent.  How is Micarelli holding such a big margin?

It makes the whole thing useless as the result is artificial and flawed.

Yes of course I think Máiréad is a brilliant violinist. But I don't think she or her family would want fans to
stuff the ballot box.

  Of course you're right, Maggie.  Multiple votes skew the results, and yes, the outcome is flawed. 
  I will be the first to acknowledge that two wrongs don't make a right and that you can't justify bad behavior by pointing out others' bad behavior; however, in a poll such as this one with tabulations in percentiles of total votes, individual votes have less and less weight as the vote-total increases; and it is obvious that the two vote-getters ahead of Mairead are benefitting from multiple votes, too - otherwise, Mairead would be closing the gap faster.
  With that said, I confess that I am a multi-time voter; but this poll is all in fun - somebody started a "Greatest Violinist" challenge, and MaireadNation picked up the gauntlet.  Do I think Mairead would endorse our misbehavior?  NO WAY; but I believe Mairead would not be mad at us for having some fun on her behalf.

I agree with you about multiple votes.  The only significant thing that is good about this competition, just like the one that was for Hayley & Mairead on "Tweeter",  is that it's another opportunity for them to get their names out there.
I have no doubt there are some people who never heard of Mairead but know of her now.

Multiple votes in this particular case are part of the process, it's just a measure of the enthusiasm out there for one particular person or the other. 

Were this part of electing an official in any capacity, then yes, I would totally be against such a thing....

"There are lots of reasons to love Mairead.
1) I have never seen another fiddle player capable of flying around the stage, spinning soooo fast that it would make most people dizzy and still be able to play amazingly!
2) As someone else said, she truly cares about her fans.  She is loving and sweet and Mairead meet and greets are always awesome.
3) When Mairead is on stage, it is poetic.  The soft melodies are hauntingly beautiful and she pulls you in.  On the more upbeat songs, she is extremely energetic and you cannot help but smile.
4) She is INCREDIBLE with interacting with people during a show.  She smiles genuinely all the time and really knows how to connect with her fans.
