Doctor says the ears aren't infected, so they flushed the wax out of the ears to see if it would let out some pressure. No improvement so far, so I'm probably going back in tomorrow to see what the heck is going on. Feels like the world is spinning like a top right now. Weeeee.  Tongue

Sounds  like  some  kind  of  infection  though  ...  the  docs  ruled  out  your  ears. The  other  possibility  is  a  signifigant  drop  in  blood  pressure  or  a  medication  reaction .  Good  luck.   Smiley

as long as the DR. didn`t say, when looking in your ear"hmmmm..I can see the opposite wall from here"  ::)as far as the "world spinning like a top"....now you know what it`s like when you talk to Mairead, Eabha, Susan and Tara Grin...but, seriousely, hope you feel better.....being sick is no fun....coming from someone who spent 7 straight weeks in the hospital.

Thanks everyone.

So long story short they don't know what's wrong yet. Best guess is a viral infection of a nerve in the inner ear (rather than the drum). If that's what it is, it can last anywhere from 2 weeks (it's been a week and a half so far) to 3 months. Another possibility is that some of the tiny crystals that control balance and sense of motion got blown out into the ear canal from pressure from one of the three nasty colds I had this winter. If that's the case, there are ways to potentially get them to re-settle out of the canal, but if not, this won't go away. There are other possibilities but nothing that can be determined without an MRI or something.

As far as vertigo goes, it's relatively mild at the moment and it's mostly disorientation in one direction and plane (it's mostly a sense I'm leaning forward all the time, with impaired sense of motion and a moderate sensation of swaying. The main problem (aside from it being very annoying) is that my head seems to keep moving forward a bit after I would normally stop since my sense of motion is a bit messed up. Meaning if I bend down or forward, I have to be really careful since it's very easy for me to whack my head on something with force. Also, if I walk forward, I have to consciously stop a bit earlier or I walk into things / people.

If it doesn't get any worse, I'm going to the M+G on Wednesday and flying down to see Lisa Kelly on Thursday. I've practiced a bit so I (hopefully) won't head butt Tara in the event I start jumping up and down giddily like a child the moment I see her.

It definitely puts a damper on things, but I'm going to power through it and I'm still super-excited!!!  Cheesy

Oh it definitely was. A lot of CW stuff (including songs she didn't perform!), and then it was musicals and a few others. Oh, and Dermot sang too!

ETA: I got Heartstrings too.

Really wish I could have gone to that one. I don't think anyone else in the world does a solo show like Chloë. It got announced too late in my booking process and it also would have meant extending an already obscenely expensive trip for 2 more days. It breaks my heart I couldn't see her on this tour, but I sure did enjoy seeing her at the Fred with Lisa.

It helps that the Newberry Opera House is an excellent venue. It's pretty small, and as a properly built opera house, the acoustics are great.
