MEMBERS - START VOTING

For those who joined the IMA, you can now vote as a member. If you have not joined, it is not too late. For $25 you can join and vote as a member. As a member, your vote will carry more weight. Just go on the website and click the “join” sign. But if you cannot join at this time, please still vote... as a free member. There is only one week left for that. Keep the voting going. We need to get our friends to vote too. We need to make sure the Celtic Woman, Mairead and Orla win these awards.

PUBLIC VOTING

This is the last week for the public to vote. As of January 8 @ 12:00am central time, public voting is over. If you have not yet voted, you still have time. You also have time to register and vote. If you have voted, get others to register and vote. It is true that Mairead, Orla or the Celtic Woman do not need this award to be the best. As fans, we already know that. But there are not many awards offered where the “FANS” get to pick who they like. Usually it is someone behind closed doors who really know nothing about the nominees. So this is our way, the fans, to step up and honor these talented ladies with the Irish Music Award. This is when “you” get to speak.

MEMBERS VOTING
January1 to January15

You can join as a patron for $25.00 and vote as a member. I am not sure when the cut off to join and still have the chance to vote as a member, so if you plan to do this, I would not wait to the last minute. When I joined, I was a member the next day. So processing does not take that long. Vote as a member and your vote carries more weight. To join, click on this link.

When you join, you also get either a t-shirt or mug

Unfortunately I won't be anywhere Missouri during that time.

But at least the girls are ahead in most of their categories.

Paid Member Voting ends the 15th of January.  It is not to late to become a paid member and vote.  Some of the Voting is very tight for Orlagh and it is tied for top fiddler for Mairead.  Yes your vote counts! Join the paid members of the IMA and support your girls.

For those who plan to attend, these are the performers. Also, if I am not mistaken, it may be shown on their website.

For those of you who plan to attend, O'Malley's Pub is just north of the
Kansas City International Airport in the 1837 town of Weston Missouri.  It
is 60 feet underground with a series of 5 cellars, three of which are
accessible.  The presentations will be in the large Hall Cellar.  Music
performances will be featured by Rob Gavin, Irish Tenor Michael Coakley,
Button Accordionist John Whelan, Uileann Piper Tim Britton, Harpist Darren
Raliegh, and Fiddler Quinn Patrick O'Malley.  The entire event will be
streaming via the internet to USA, Ireland, United Kingdom, and the
European Union.  If you cannot attend we hope you will mark this date and
time and get on line.

An Irish music session following the event is planned for the Upper Cellar.
Members of the public and all Irish Musicians who wish to play at that
session are invited.   O'Malley's is the most unique place you will ever
stand a pint, and is the home of the Weston Irish Festival.

Hope to see you there in person, or in cyberspace, Wednesday, January 27,
2010 at 7 PM CST
