Greetings!
  Did you know that Mairead in its original Greek form means pearl? Just a tidbit I found in a book at the library at Dublin city university while I was waiting to go to the Christmas concert. The anglicized version is actually Margaret so it said.

Resurrecting this old thread because Máiréad just posted about the pronunciation today.

For those that are still wondering, it's pronounced like "Parade" with an "M."
