...URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT 5 DAYS...

.SATURATED SOILS AND SWOLLEN SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS FROM RECENT
RAINS HAVE PRIMED THE AREA FOR POTENTIAL FLOODING WITH THE
APPROACHING STORMS. A SERIES OF STORMS WILL BRING PERIODS OF MODERATE
TO HEAVY RAINFALL THURSDAY THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. THESE SYSTEMS
WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD NUISANCE FLOODING TO LOW
LYING AREAS, PONDING OF WATER ON AREA ROADWAYS, AND FLOODING OF
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS.

AFTERNOON FOR LOCATIONS BELOW 4000 FEET...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA...INCLUDING
  THE FOLLOWING AMADOR...BUTTE...CALAVERAS...COLUSA...EL  ...
  DORADO...GLENN...LAKE...NEVADA...PLACER...SACRAMENTO...SAN
  JOAQUIN...SHASTA...SOLANO...STANISLAUS...SUTTER...TEHAMA...
  TUOLUMNE...YOLO AND YUBA.

* FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON

* EXCESSIVE RAINFALL ON ALREADY SATURATED SOILS AND SWOLLEN SMALL
  CREEKS AND STREAMS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN FLOODING OVER THE NEXT
  SEVERAL DAYS

* IMPACTS INCLUDE: RISES ON MAINSTEM RIVERS INCLUDING OVERFLOW
  INTO THE BUTTE SINK AND THE SUTTER BYPASS. ALSO, LOW LAND
  FLOODING WILL IMPACT ANY OUTDOOR ACTIVITES. SMALL CREEKS WILL
  BE RUNNING HIGH AND FAST, AVOID PLAYING OR WORKING NEAR THEM.
  PONDING OF WATER ON AREA ROADWAYS WILL CREATE TRAVEL HAZARDS AT
  TIMES. REMEMBER...TURN AROUND DON`T DROWN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE

We have a Hurricane Wind Warning for this evening -- winds of 80+mph expected.  So far today, we have had 50+mph winds.

Yesterday we had the most insane thunderstorm. The lightning was so constant that the sky was pretty much constantly light, even though it was dark out. I was a little nervous because at that time my mom was on a plane flying home, but luckily the lightning stopped before they got here.

The temperature has been in 90's all week and has even reached 100 F. where I live! Shocked
