A big storm headed this way overnight and lasting several days -- forecast is for 4 to 6 inches of rain over 3 days with high winds, too. Temp. here today was about 53 F. The Portland area still has snow and ice from last week and has not warmed up and now will get more ice from this storm, which will head east to the mountain and plains states for more nasty weather there. www.kptv.com

Last week they had 50 closed for avalanche control over Echo Summit, I've only seen that a couple of times, usually 80' is the one that gets shut down all the time.

Our tv weather lady says 2.41 inches of rain here in the last 24 hours. Lots of wind, too. And, still raining. Several highways in Oregon and Washington are closed by snow, ice and landslides.

I think this is round 4 or 5, lost track
The National Weather Service in UNLOCALIZED SITE has issued a
* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in... Colusa County in central California... Yolo County in central California... Sutter County in central California... Solano County in central California... Plumas County in northern California... Alpine County in northern California... Placer County in central California... Shasta County in northern California... Lassen County in northern California... Amador County in northern California... Tuolumne County in northern California... Sacramento County in central California... Lake County in central California... Stanislaus County in central California... San Joaquin County in central California... El Dorado County in northern California... Calaveras County in northern California... Tehama County in northern California... Butte County in northern California... Glenn County in central California... Sierra County in northern California... Yuba County in central California... Nevada County in northern California...
* Until 400 PM PST Thursday
* Interior Northern California will experience another significant uptick in flooding problems starting late Sunday Night and continuing through Monday Night as an intense Atmospheric River type storm arrives.
* Our entire region has saturated soils and many flooded areas already...this will enhance the impact of additional heavy rains.
* Additional stress will be placed on levees, rivers, creeks, and streams.
* We may see flooding in locations which haven`t been impacted in many years.
* We are strongly advising all residents in interior Northern California to be prepared for flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be prepared to evacuate if flooding should affect your area. Gather a "go bag" with important items like medications and hard to replace documents. Don`t forget to plan for your pets and animals.
Please never drive across flooded waters...especially flowing water. Most people who are killed or injured during floods are attempting to drive through flooded waters.

Yeah, we've had thunderstorms and threats of tornadoes here as well. Very unusual for here in February (in fact, I don't think we've ever had a Tornado watch in February before). Fortunately, nothing serious materialized here.

The finally shut down the main spillway at Oroville, and this shows the power of water.

Local weather forecast for Voices of Angels day next week:
12:00 PM .. rain 01:00 PM .. rain 02:00 PM .. rain 03:00 PM .. rain 04:00 PM .. rain 05:00 PM .. rain 06:00 PM .. rain 07:00 PM .. rain 08:00 PM .. showers 09:00 PM .. showers 10:00 PM .. showers 11:00 PM .. showers 12:00 AM .. showers
If that holds up, I'm not keeping the girls out in that, so no stage-and-greet and likely no greet of the street variety either.
Unfortunate, but I'll still have the M+G 2 weeks after the first show, so everything that needs to be will go in the letters. Probably just as well. I don't trust my brain to communicate things verbally. Important things are best written.

Thunder ...and presumably lightning with downpours just as last nights CW show started....you could HEAR the thunder rumbling, even over Ray`s drums. By shows end , there was only a very light mist in the air.

The tv weather lady says we had 58 mph winds here today. A peak nearby recorded 91 mph. Lots of trees and power lines down. We are having a hailstorm right now.

It's been really windy here too and the temperature's been all over the place. We had a thunderstorm here back in February which is not normal for winter.
