This is a new documentary, hosted by Moya Brennan, that is set to premier on PBS stations throughout America in March 2010. The list of talent featured in this documentary is unbelievable! Orla will be interviewed along with many others. Much more information is here. Oh yes, and the amazing Denny Young is the producer! I'm so excited!!!

"While we seek Myrth and Beauty and Music light and gay, there are frail forms waiting at the door.....though their voices are silent, their pleading lips will say, "Oh, Hard times, come again no more..." Thanks so much Orlagh! I will always remember...

"A sequel to Music of Ireland - Welcome Home is planned for late 2010 spotlighting more recent artists including U2, Celtic Woman, The Cranberries, The Corrs, The Irish Tenors, and singer/songwriters like Glen Hansard and Damien Rice, as well as the rise of Irish music festivals and the use of Irish music in film and television. Yes this will be a great CD and DVD.....it's good to see Órlagh and Celtic Woman will be on it, although I think they will be on the follow-up CD. Make sure you are getting the right CD.....there is a mediocre CD called "Music of Ireland" that's been out for a few years. The one you want has "Welcome Home" added. Also, there is a weekly radio show called "Music of Ireland". I wish they had come up with a more unique and dynamic title. CD Track List: Music of Ireland: Welcome Home [Barnes & Noble Exclusive]
1 Óró, Sé do Bheatha 'Bhaile / The Welcome Home Party 3:11 2 Song to the Siren / Sinéad O'Connor 4:49 3 Lullaby for the Dead / Moya Brennan 4:22 4 Under the Tongue / Damien Rice 4:47 5 The Parting Glass / John Sheahan 3:26 6 Forgotten / Moya Brennan 3:46 7 High Hope / Glen Hansard 3:47 8 Maasai Returns / Damien Dempsey 4:16 9 Oh Brother / Andrea Corr 4:09 10 Blacksmith / Dónal Lunny 5:19 11 Dreams Will Come / Paul Brady 3:57 12 You're the One / Moya Brennan 3:43 13 Is Mise 'n Ghaoth/The Lass of Aughrim / Moya Brennan 6:10DVD cover:

Adding that to the growing DVDs/CD that I need to save for. First is Songs of the Heart.

So, if I understand this right, the documentary is a two part. The first part is airing in March, and the second part with CW will be aired later in the year?

This tells all about it:http://pr-usa.net/index2.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=330708&pop=1&page=0&Itemid=96Summary taken from that piece: The Music of Ireland - Welcome Home CD and a DVD of the program bundled with an exclusive public television bonus CD will be available during the public television broadcasts to viewers who make a donation in support of their local station. The CD bonus tracks include additional songs by Órla Fallon (formerly of Celtic Woman), Ronan Tynan (formerly of The Irish Tenors) and others. Barnes & Noble, Music of Ireland's exclusive retail partner, will feature a nationwide, in-store promotional campaign starting March 2 that will promote the TV show and feature a special, exclusive deluxe edition combo pack of the CD and DVD. The exclusive deluxe edition will be available both in Barnes & Noble stores and online at Barnes & Noble.com (www.bn.com). Amazon.com is Music of Ireland's digital music partner and will feature all CD tracks digitally, on a 45-day exclusive basis starting March 2nd. So it's a PBS production that's going to be part of a bundle deal for pledges. http://www.billboard.com/news/u2-pete-seeger-sinead-o-connor-in-pbs-music-1004066386.story?tag=hpfeed#/news/u2-pete-seeger-sinead-o-connor-in-pbs-music-1004066386.story?tag=hpfeedLook for it in Barnes & Noble from March 2nd, and on: http://www.amazon.com/ You can pre-order now from Barnes & Noble.
