It's far beyond the stars...

« on: November 02, 2011, 08:10PM »

I sang this song in choir once and thought it would make a great Chloë/Lisa duet with the awesome choir backing them up! What do you folks think? (Here's where all the "New Song?" thread people jump in Wink). I can't remember who wrote this, but I will post his name once I find it! The parts are kind of complex, so I color coded them:
Chloë
Lisa
Chloë with choir
Lisa with choir
Choir being awesome by itself
Lisa and Chloë (no choir)
Everybody

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carols play
And wild and sweet their songs repeat
Of peace on earth, goodwill to men!

And the bells are ringing, "Peace on Earth!"
Like a choir the singing, "Peace on Earth!"
In my heart I hear them
Peace on earth, Goodwill to men!

Then in despair I bowed my head
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth goodwill to men!

But the bells are ringing, "Peace on Earth!"
Like a choir they're singing, "Peace on Earth!"
Does anybody hear them?
Peace on earth, Goodwill to men!

Than rang the bells more loud and deep
"God is not dead nor does He sleep!"

Peace on Earth!Peace on earth!
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With Peace on Earth, Goodwill to men!

Goodwill to men!

Then ringing singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day

A song, a chime, a chance sublime
Of peace on earth, goodwill to men!

And the bells are riniging, "Peace on Earth!"
Like a choir they're singing,"Peace on Earth!"
With our hearts we'll hear them
Peace on Earth, Goodwill to men!

Do you hear the bells? They're ringing, Peace on Earth!
Like the angels singing, "Peace on Earth!"
Open up your hearts and hear them
Peace on earth, Goodwill to men!

Peace on Earth
Peace on Earth
Peace on Earth
Peace on earth, Goodwill to men!

So I discovered after posting that a group called Casting Crowns has recorded this song! They have it as a solo with a kids choir, but it at least gives you the idea of what I'm thinking here. If you want to hear it, click here!

YAY! I'm not the only one who hears it! I get strange looks when I'm listening to it and say things like, "Oooh! Chloë would be perfect here!"

Unfortunately David isn't on any of the social networks so there's no way of getting in touch with him.

You're correct. At the time of my post he hadn't signed up yet.  Smiley
