So a little while ago, I went to one of the most beautiful places in Oregon. It's a little hillish mountain, called Black Butte. For the day I was there, we all decided to climb it for the first time (If you ever come to Oregon.. it's a MUST). So when you finally get to the top, you have this amazing view, all looking out over the Willamette Valley. You see all these rolling hills covered with pine trees, Mt Jefferson, Hood, the Three Sisters, some others I couldn't name, and a drop off cliff into the Willamette river. Plus all these gorgeous shimmering lakes, hawks flying, and blue sky (very unusual for that time of year). Well anyway... to the point: The wind was blowing in my face, I could smell that Oregon smell, like Pine and Rain, and all of a sudden, "My Land" came on my Ipod. I got this huge deep feeling welling up inside of me, part patriotic and loving the place I was in, part like Orla was standing there right next to me sharing in the moment. It was totally incredible, I just burst into tears!
Orla Fallon. You. Are. AMAZING!!!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

That is beautiful!!!  And the EXACT same thing happened to my sister and me!!!  Last Fall, we went up to the mountains to see the leaves changing. The entire trip we listened to Orlaghs' cd, Distant Shore, which had just come out in September right before our trip.  We were watching the sun set over the real Cold Mountain, when "My Land" started playing.  It was such a perfect song for the moment we were experiencing, admiring our own beautiful landscape here in America.  Our friend ended up making a video using photos we took on that trip and set them to that song.  It was perfect. Yeah ....Orlagh's music can do that to you....Always There and Hard Times get me going. Cry
Hard Times especially holds a very special place in my heart...the memory of the last time Orlagh sang it and dedicated it to me in Maryland with our dear friends Kelli, Zee, and Mike there will be a very special moment I'll cherish for the rest of my days.
I even have to be careful listening to it when driving...it's kind of hard to drive with blurred vision!!!!! Wink
Thanks Orlagh! You are beyond compare!

Thanks so much Orlagh!
I will always remember...

Wow, what a moment to experience. I'll have to be sure and listen to "My Land" during my trip to the Grand Canyon later this year, and see if I can get the same emotion.

It is a beautiful song sung by an incomparable artist who puts her heart and soul into everything she sings.

Sounds like the kind of moment that you hold on to for the rest of your life.
