Anyhow, is Lynn Hilary Irish? Yes, Kim, Lynn is Irish. Now this is wonderful news. I do believe that whatever else should be true about the five members of Celtic Woman, they really should be echt-Irish. It bodes well. Just two blondes, now -- Chloe and Mairead.

I'm sure that Lynn is good. However I'm not sure which one is bothering me more right now. The 2nd degree burns on my shoulder or finding out that Meav is taking a break. This is just gonna leave me sad with everything else going on in my life right now. All the best to Meav.

I'm very sad to see Meav go. She was the first person to get me to love a song that wasn't in English (Dulaman)! I hope that she will come back to Celtic Woman soon! But I understand that she as a family and wants to spend time with them. I can't say that i wouldn't do the same if I were in her shoes. Meav, we will miss you greatly! But I did watch the video of Lynn and she does have an wonderful voice. I think she will fit into the group very well. So welcome to Celtic Woman Lynn!

I am absolutely devastated to see Meav go. I thought she was an integral part of Celtic Woman and I think the group will most definitely lose a certain something with her departure. Please come back soon Meav, please.
That's not to say anything against Lynn. The youtube video won't work for me so I can't find out whether I like her or not yet. I will wait to pass judgement on her till I hear her. But Lynn, welcome to the CW family. I hope you fit in perfectly!

Welcoming Our New Celtic Woman Hi Everyone, Meav has decided to take a full time break from touring with Celtic Woman, to spend time with her family and to focus on recording a new solo album. As a result of this we are very excited to introduce, our wonderful new Celtic Woman, Lynn Hilary. Lynn Hilary trained as a classical soprano at DIT College of Music in Dublin, graduating with honours in June 2004. She has been a member of the renowned choir ‘Anúna’ for 5 years, performing with them as a soloist on 'Songs of Praise', 'BBC Proms in the Park', and numerous other television appearances. With 'Anúna' she has traveled to all corners of the world and features as a soloist on many of their albums. Lynn was the lead vocalist for 'Riverdance’ at the Special Olympics opening ceremony, performing to a live audience of over 85,000 and a television audience of millions. She has also been the lead vocalist for 'Riverdance' at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin for a ten week run and on tour in the USA, Canada and Europe, including six consecutive full houses at Radio City Music Hall, New York. She features as a soloist on the 'Riverdance' 10th Anniversary CD and DVD. Lynn has worked with many artists such as Daniel O' Donnell, Luka Bloom, Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club, and Don Mescall, to name but a few. Lynn has already started working with the Girls readying herself for her debut performance on the 10th October 2007 in Estero, Florida, USA. At this time we would like to thank Meav for her contribution to Celtic Woman over the last three years. We know Meav will be missed by Celtic Woman fans as much as she will be missed by us. We wish her every success in her Solo pursuits and we look forward to working with Meav in the future US Tour Dates 2007 Support your local PBS station, and get the best seats in the house! It's very sad that Méav is leaving, I wish her the very best in the world. We should be happy for her, she can spend more time with her family and do her own thing, make another CD. Whatever she chooses to do, she will be a success. We love you Méav. HOWEVER, as Méav is leaving, there could not be a better replacement than Dubliner Lynn Hilary. I know she will fit in well with the other ladies. Here is a piece written in 2003 about the Special Olympics opening show: Riverdance producers undertook a search for a young Irish female solo singer to perform Bill Whelan's haunting Cloudsong. The search began in January of this year, and after auditions in March, the numbers were whittled down to six. Bill Whelan attended the final auditions, and the panel was unanimous in its choice: Lynn Hilary. Lynn, 20 years old, is a Dubliner currently studying for her Bachelor of Music degree at the Dublin Institute of Technology. A member of Anúna, she has performed with them in New York, Amsterdam, Morocco and elsewhere, and won the R&R Cup (Solo Singing) at the Feis Ceoil 2002. You can hear her beautiful vocals on three of Anúna's CDs, including the 2003 version of "Behind the Closed Eye," now available in the U.S. See the Anúna.ie website for more.Lynn at Croke Park Stadium with John McColgan, Director of Riverdance: And here's another piece about Lynn: Lynn Hilary has recently completed a Bachelor of Music Degree at DIT, where she studied voice with Jody Beggan. She was the winner of the Rathmines & Rathgar Cup at the Feis Ceoil in 2002. Lynn is a member of Anúna and has travelled with them to such countries as America, Morocco, the UK and Holland. She has also made numerous television appearances as a soloist with Anúna for The Late Late Show, Open House, I.D., Songs of Praise and BBC Proms in the Park. She performed the lead vocal with Riverdance at the Opening Ceremony of the 2003 Special Olympics in Croke Park to an audience of millions.

To be honest, Meav leaving is not a complete surprise to me. Even in Tempe, she looked very very tired off the set.
Being away from her young child is also very trying. Meav, I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope you will return sometime.
Lynn. Cead mile Failte.
