Imagine Méav reading some of those posts in her section.....do you think she wants to read how upset you are? How disappointed you are? Sure, everybody likes to be missed when they go away, but they don't want to leave you down in the dumps. As a Military wife, the first thing you learn is.......how to say goodbye with a cheerful smile when your heart is crying. I have this funny picture in my head of Méav dressed like Vera Lynn, singing to us: "Wish me luck, as you wave me goodbye,
Cheerio, here I go,on my way.

I definitely think we should have a good attitude about this...it is both a chance for Meav to live her own personal dream and a chance for new talent to come into CW.
I hate the idea that someone could be "counting down" till the next CW's departure. What Katie said -- Let's just enjoy them.

I predict this current set will be together for a few years. Meav has always been sort of part-time, and the others seem very committed to the group. Plus, if one was to make a move toward a solo career, this would be the smart time to do so. But I would think there is also risk to trying that, whereas staying with CW is still almost guarenteed money in the bank for another couple years. Certainly anything can happen, but I think odds are they remain together in the near future.
But maybe just wishful thinking on my part too.

The way I see it, CW is a stepping stone in these ladies professional career. If it wasn't for CW, non of US would of heard of them, let alone look forward to when they possibly will strike out on THEIR own, and give us solo shows. I for one hope to see Meav, Lisa, Orlagh, Mairead (and family), and even Chloe and Hayley in solo shows. I will definitely go to each of them  |
