Hi

Michael McGlynn has asked me to drop a note to the forum regarding Lynn Hilary and Anuna.

"We have received some queries as to the connections and history between Anuna and Lynn from various sources. Anuna is a group of singers that usually numbers around 14 while performing, but we draw on a pool of up to 26 singers for our performances. The singers we use are trained by us to work to the very-high standard of performance that we require for our projects, the most recent of which is Anuna : Celtic Origins, now broadcasting on USA TV Nationwide and on CD and DVD in Borders - see http://www.anuna.ie for further details.

Lynn joined Anuna in 2001 and has sung with us all over the world. We are delighted that she will be getting the opportunity to further her career in this manner. She is an exceptionally talented young lady, and we don't say such things lightly in Anuna.

If you would like to hear solos that feature Lynn on iTunes here is a list of them - while she does not feature on the new Celtic Origins project on PBS, she does feature as a soloist on the forthcoming DVD provisionally entitled "Invocation". We hope that she will continue to work with us as her schedule permits.

She appears on the following tracks on iTunes as lead vocalist:

From Invocation
The Last Rose
The Song of Oisin
The Wild Song [shared with Sarah O Kennedy]

Behind the Closed Eye
Midnight [shared with Meav Ni Mhaolchatha]
Annaghdown [shared with Lucy Champion]

Sensation
The Road of Passage

From Christmas Songs aka Winter Songs
Codhlaim go Suan
O Holy Night
Silent Night

The Anuna link on iTunes is here

Best of Luck Lynn!"

Thank you, and thanks to Michael McGlynn for his explanation.

I guess some members were curious about Lynn's connection with Anúna.

Best wishes to all the Anúna Team, and thank you for your generosity and good wishes to Lynn.

She is in good hands, and Anúna has some new fans.

If I could tell her something in Meet and Greets, I think she will even know what I have.

Thank you for writing to the forum and telling us more about Lynn.  I am excited about her addition to Celtic Woman.  And to add to what Maggie said, yes Anuna has gained a lot of new fans recently.  They are superb!

Thank you CelticOrigins and Michael for an interesting and informative post.  I've just posted a note of appreciation on the Anuna forum, expressing my gratitude for taking the time to provide us this insight.

Sounds like Anuna and CW are great stepping stones for some of Ireland's best female vocalists...and fiddlers  Wink Grin

Here's the longer version on YouTube, introduction by Pierce Brosnan, then Jean Butler.
Lynn is the principal singer, Lisa is behind her with the pony tail.

Thanks for letting us know this information!

Maggie, could you possibly link us to the video on youtube of Lynn and Meav singing together (if I'm not mistaken)?  I was unable to find it.

I would change only one word....'Ireland's'. It would be 'the planet's'.

Thank you for the posting. I hadn't really known much about Anuna but it is nice to know that teh best of the Irish singers work with them. 14 regulars but a group of 26 sounds like Lisa, and the other CW ladies are part of that group. Wonder if some day they will include Chloe.

makes me want to see them in October.
