GO Celtic Woman

When I listen to You Raise Me Up on CD, it sounds like it's sung by Lisa only.  Does anyone else notice that?

yes I noticed that too, but I believe Lisa sang it as a solo before it was sang as an ensemble.

Acutally, Lisa sings it and is accompanied by Chloe, Orla, Meav and Mairead on the first cd. Then for the tour they changed it.  I like both versions. They have done several versions of this song on tour.

Okay according to the first cd the inside jacket says "lisa and mairead featuring chloe, orla and meav" You have to listen towards the end the Gilrs join in.

Kyra,

Lisa sings a solo version of the song on her CD.

I hope they never stop doing that song in concert. It is Lisa for the first chorus for sure. The second chorus almost sounds like Meav. The third and fourth chorus' sound like all the ladies plus the choir. I sing along with that piece nearly every night. When you see them do it in person at a concert it is obvious they are very aware of what they're singing and moved by it.

No, not her self titled cd. The first cw cd they recorded. The self- titled one from the Helix.

BTW I LOVE Lisa's version of YRMU. I think I even like it better!

Kyra,

Oops. When I said that I wasn't actually looking at the album in question. The song I was thinking of was The Soft Goodbye, which she sings solo on her album. Sorry!
