Hey guys.  I'd like to learn "Harry's Game" so I can sing it.  But I really need help with the pronunciations of the Irish words.  I've tried looking on websites that are supposed to help with Irish pronunciation but they confuse me to death lol.  If you know how to pronounce the lyrics, will you please post how to?  Thank you so much!!!

Giving phonetic pronunciations is always difficult, because of accents.
For example, Moya Brennan has a different accent to Órlagh. They come from opposite ends of Ireland.
So their pronunciation is slightly different when singing this song.
Anyway, the phonetic below is as close as I can get to Órlagh's.
It was written as the theme of a sad TV Series about the Provisional IRA, with senseless killing.
So it should be sung in a sad way, just as Órlagh and Moya sing it.

***Please Note: The "fol lol" bits are just mouth music with no meaning.

IRISH LYRICS:

Imtheochaidh soir is siar
A dtainig ariamh
An ghealach is an ghrian

(Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the doh fol the day)

Imtheochaidh an ghealach's an ghrian
An Daoine og is a chail 'na dhiadh

(Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the doh fol the day
Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the doh fol the day)

Imtheochaidh a dtainig ariamh
an duine og is a chail ne dhiadh

(Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the doh fol the day)

PHONETIC PRONUNCIATION:

IM UHOY-ee SHARE iss SHEER
uh daw-NEEG uh-REE-uv
UN YAH-lag iss un GHREE-un

IM UHOY-ee un YAH-lag iss un GHREE-un
uh DEE-na OHG iss uh KHAYL nuh YEE-uh

IM UHOY-ee uh daw-NEEG uh-REE-uv
un DEE-na OHG iss uh KHAYL nuh YEE-uh

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

I will go east and go west
From whence came
The moon and the sun

The moon and the sun will go
And the young man
With his reputation behind him

I will go wherever he came from -
The young man with his reputation behind him
