To me, I think "The Call" song is about God calling & reaching out to you. I thought deeply about it & this is my opinion of what it means.

Sometimes in this life we hear
Calling from somewhere

Sometimes it is loud and clear
Sometimes it's so softly there

Sometimes it is in the sea
Sometimes in the sky
Sometimes it's in you and me
And sometimes it's a cry

Open your heart
I am calling you

Right from the very start
Your wounded heart was calling, too

Open your arms
You will find the answer
When you answer to the Call

Sometimes it is in desire
Or in the love we fear

When the Call is calling us
'Till the fear will disappear

When we have no dance to dance
The Call is in the song

When we have no voice to sing
Then the Call is calling strong

You're being called, but you don't know what it means.
You are either aware of the Call or you cannot see the Call.
Sometimes the Call will call you in something as big as the sea or sky & sometimes it takes something as little as a cry. & when you are crying God will carry you through the hard time.
God is calling you & telling you to trust him.
Your heart was hearing the Call all along, but you didn't realize it because you hadn't opened up to God.
God wants you to reach out to him & when you have faith in God you'll understand the Call.
Sometimes the Call is satisfying & sometimes your scared of opening up to God.
God will keep calling you until your fear of opening up goes away.
Comparing the Call to music. Sometimes the Call can be in music.
If your hurting so much God is calling you extra strong.

So that's just the way I see the meaning of the song.

I like  your  interpretation  Chandler.   This is something I didn't think of right away- but later I did.  I think it could also be about a general yearning for spiritual connections- to something bigger than ourselves  which is communicated through our Celtic Cuties.  It's a great song whichever way you look at it!   Smiley

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, but I'm curious. Did David Downes write "The Call"? I apologize if this question has already been answered.

Thanks Wink I was wondering because I've never heard that song sung by another musical band or singer besides Celtic Woman.

I always felt like it was the girls calling out to the fans.

I think, whether intentionally or not, the meaning was left open to interpretation.

And I think that's great!

Everyone can find their own special meaning in it (or perhaps just enjoy the tune).  Grin
