The mention of "Special Guests" on my ticket for the september 20th concert in London made me think about which artists I would like to see as guests in a CW concert. So here are my three choices.
First, Susanna Seivane. This galician piper (gaitera) is very talented, very cute, and she could bring a bit of spanish spice to the group. I can envision her doing a duet (duel) with Mairead, and then leading all the girsl in a rousing rendition of "Rianxeira" (known also as "Guadalupe" on the Chieftains "Santiago").
Cécile Corbell. This breton singer and harper has had tremendous success in Japan in recent months, thanks to her participation in the soundtrack of "The Borrower Arrietty". She could easily take the place of Orla.
And last, but not least: Sissel. No explanation needed, I presume.
Any other ideas ?

I totally agree about Cecile Corbel and Sissel--they're both amazing singers. Another harpist/singer to think about is Siobhan Owen--she'd be a great guest too. Loreena McKennitt and Secret Garden would also do wonders.  |
