Of course...Mairead has a small speaking part at the end of the Helix Christmas concert. "Let it snow".....she whispers in a sweet sultry voice at the end of the song "Let It Snow".
Of course , yes, Mairead can sing. Below is a poem to honor Mairead for her singing part in "Let It Snow".
I wrote and posted it here several years ago. You can find it if you searched long enough. Anyways here it is below.
I'm going to have to write it out and put it in a Christmas card for her. I'm sure I'll find someone attending a Symphony
concert that can get it to her.
Here it is for those who have not seen it. I love it. This snowflake, this fiddler, this tinkerbell,
this singer, is simply incredible. Everyone loves Mairead.
It helps if you've seen the Christmas DVD track of "Let It Snow"
Snowflakes and Fiddle Players, Dear MaireadCome my children and listen to me
A story to tell you, like a wonderful dream
About a beautiful snowflake, she sings you see
Once upon a time on a joyous Christmas Eve
I sat in silence, above a Christmas stage
To hear her voice and the fiddle she played
Celtic Woman and Christmas, and a song they sang
Let it Snow, say Lisa, and Orla, and Chloe and Meav
No Dancer, or Prancer, or Vixen on parade
But a lovely snowflake, dear Mairead, center stage
Her voice a soft silence, but she danced her strings, she played
And like a snow princess, she waved and she waved
Her magic wand you see, and the big band played and played
An angel smiles, and she sings, tell ‘em Lis,
And snowflakes released, softly floating, floating, floating down
Mairead just smiled and smiled and smiled, her snow friends come to town
Then the piano man with his ivory keys to lead, to lead
On Lisa! On Orla! On Chloe and Meav, they plead
And all the merry singers dashed away, dashed away, to please
And Mairead, center stage, the most beautiful thing
She twirled in joyous laughter, then smiled to sing!
“Let It Snow” My heart was pounding, my eyes began to tear
She smiled once more, and in a twinkling, disappeared!
The warmest and softest voice you could ever hear
What is a snowflake but perfect in every way
A gift from the heavens, come Christmas Day
With strings of crystal, a fiddler’s perfect play
Snowflakes and fiddle players, Oh dear Mairead
You are our music, this love you play
“Let It Snow”So sang Lisa, and Orla, and Chloe and Meav
And a lovely snowflake we call Mairead
Once upon a time, once upon a time one Christmas Eve
