2 more people bailed on me for the Celtic Woman show so I've 2 more tickets to give away by Tuesday and absorb the cost.
You know, I get that stuff happens and people have to back out sometimes, but I'm really upset:
- Firstly, I have to spend time trying to give the tickets away ... time I really couldn't afford to spend right now.
- Secondly, they were good seats, so it's financially painful.
- Thirdly, one of the points in having all these extra tickets was to get some people I know interested in this group I love soooooooo much.
- Fourthly, and I spent a lot of time on social media promoting this tour and literally nobody that wasn't already a fan expressed interest. I don't know whether to be more disappointed in my marketing skills or to be offended on behalf of the girls that nobody expressed interest in their beautiful music. Personally, I think I did a good job of promoting them and way more than was reasonable, so anyone that wasn't interested or didn't even read my posts, it's their loss.
- Fifthly: with the time and money spent on these extra tickets, I could have gone to see one of Chloë's shows.
- Sixthly ... and this one hurts me the most: I am more stressed out because of these tickets and other things related to all the shows in April than I've been in about 2 years. If you know any of my backstory, you know that is NOT good. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
It makes me so sad that one of the things I love the most in the world is causing me this much stress.
Oh...and guess who has a sore throat as of yesterday. If this is contagious I am screwed because I'm not giving a throat infection to the girls.
I've just got to get over it, let all this anxiety go, and find a way to enjoy it all. I'll get there, it's just really sucking right now.

Sounds tough Tom.... Hope things look up soon. Thanks. Fortunately it appears to just be a nasty cold at the moment, so the M+Gs are still on! However, I've decided that before anything else goes wrong, I'm going to try a (relatively) unplanned Stage and Greet on Tuesday instead of waiting for the M+G in three weeks. Wish me luck! |

...when the forum seems dead ... Sorry about that. It's been a crazy-busy couple of months and fighting a wicked cold all this week. This one's packing serious wallop, complete with significant dizziness and energy dips that seem to come out of nowhere. The time I normally spend on the forums seems to have been consumed by an annoying urge to sleep. I had to have 2 cups of caffeinated coffee at 6:30 PM just to get home earlier in the week and I still fell asleep a few minutes after I got home. Time to give the forum some love before I doze off again. |

If it was a Celtic Woman show I would promote it anyways. Riverdance? Sure I'm looking forward to seeing it but to invest my time promoting a non-CW show for the venue whose genius sales and marketing team left the venue half empty for our girls including 75% of the first 4 rows and then booted me out of the venue during a stage and greet attempt? No, sorry. They can promote this show on their own.
