They run a contest to give away free tickets to a show after I already have paid tickets to said show.

If it was a Celtic Woman show I would promote it anyways. Riverdance?  Sure I'm looking forward to seeing it but to invest my time promoting a non-CW show for the venue whose genius sales and marketing team left the venue half empty for our girls including 75% of the first 4 rows and then booted me out of the venue during a stage and greet attempt? No, sorry. They can promote this show on their own.
Some  of  our  Celtic  Cuties  did  Riverdance  including  Lisa  K. ,  Lynn  and  Meav as  well.  Smiley

Yep. I can't recall if Deirdre was in Riverdance at one point or just Lord of the Dance.

Sadly I won't recognize any of the performers in this 20th Anniversary Riverdance tour, but it will still be nice to see a show that's been an important part of the careers of so many of our lovely ladies (and of course, in the career of David Downes).

No  Deirdre  was  only  in  LOTD  and  Anuna  like  Meav.  Meav  is actually  the  only  vocalist  in  all  4  CW,Anuna, RD,  and  LOTD  , though  our  various  CWs  have  been  in  different  combos  of  the  above, but  only  Meav  in  all  4.   Cool

Sounds  tough  Tom.... Hope  things  look  up  soon.    Smiley

Thanks.

Fortunately it appears to just be a nasty cold at the moment, so the M+Gs are still on!

However, I've decided that before anything else goes wrong, I'm going to try a (relatively) unplanned Stage and Greet on Tuesday instead of waiting for the M+G in three weeks.

Wish me luck!

It`s when you meet the girls at the stage door AFTER the concert......it`s a GREAT time to see and chat with them....they`re dressed in their street clothes and will chat with the fans, sign autographs and let you take pics. Even though they must be tired after the show, they`re ALL sweet enough to chat with the fans. It`s soooooo cool to see them up close and chat with them....and yes, they`re just as beautiful up close and in person as they are on stage. They really are super, super SWEET in person.

I'm working an on-call rotation and I get called in on 2 hours sleep to cover someone else's rotation because they've already been on the call for 14 hours.

Well. It's fixed. It took all night and all day and I am really tired and cranky right now, but it's fixed.

11:00 PM here. Time for that breakfast I was going to have...

I thought that's what you were talking about, I call them bus and greets. I've been doing them for the past few years

The US Postal Service loses my mail.  A package was mailed to me from Toronto on Oct. 29th.  It was in Chicago on Nov. 4th.  Now, they have NO IDEA where it is. Angry
This was not some small item but is a LARGE box.  And, they can't find it!  Idiots!

I empathize, my friend.

I've been waiting since the end of August for a poster from one of the Chloë concerts.

International package. No tracking. The couriers have had a nasty habit of leaving packages in the hallway recently, so it's very possible it arrived but got stolen. Haven't completely given up hope, but I think my best hope at this point is that the shipper forgot to ship it. Will have to wait until the shipper is back in the US to find out...should be quite a while longer while I wait in suspense. It's got sentimental value too so really hoping it finds its way here eventually.

I still haven't received my Chloë poster, by the way. I am a patient person, but I ... wan't ... my ... Chloë poster!!!! It's only 3.5 months now until I'll have been waiting for it for a whole year. I just need to go to the venue and pick it up myself if it's still sitting around there somewhere. Only 7.5 hour solo-drive each way with no stops. No big deal.  Roll Eyes

I hate it when people call them:

Celtic 'Women' (plural)

... OMG, it's singular!

It's:

Celtic 'Woman' !!!

If you're going to be interviewing or promoting the group, please pronounce it right.  Roll Eyes

Another annoying one is:

'The Celtic Woman' (or 'The Celtic Women')

I get that it's a bit counter-intuitive for people that don't know the group that well. You'd think there are multiple women so it makes sense to call them The Celtic Women. Or for people that maybe are somewhat familiar with the backstory of the group name, 'The Celtic Woman' (singular) kind of makes sense. But it's not the name of the group.

I also know that people will most likely understand the message regardless of how its pronounced (mispronounced).

But it bugs me so much!

I'm an 'on-call' rotation at work (or as I call it, an 'in-heck' rotation).

Constant stress, severely interrupted sleep, and I can't go out and do anything after work all week or weekend.

Another one starting on Monday. Arghh!!!

when we have "normal" spring weather...rain, rain, rain, rain and rain....then it rains....that`s followed by rain, after which it rains. The forcast is for rain. In April and May, we`ve recieved over a foot of rain.

We sometimes get a foot of rain in 1 week. Wink

Just remember:  You don't have to shovel rain.
