I am thankful for the car accident that caused my disability. When I was still in utero, my birth mother was hit by a drunk driver. Her belly hit the steering wheel and the placenta seperated, cutting off my oxygen. I was delivered two and a half months early, at a scant 3 lbs and the size of a cabbage patch doll.  Doctors told me there was so much I wouldn't be able to do, and sometimes I was able to prove them wrong like when I graduated from community college last May with highest honors (3.88 GPA), a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and I walked across the stage independently to get my diploma,  And though I cannot do everything my able bodied friends can, I have been given many unique opportunities such as being a public speaker for a charity for people with special needs, and being one of very few martial artists who is in a wheelchair. I currently hold a brown belt (assistant instructorship) in both Combat Hapkido and Synergy Tai Chi Qigong. I was certified in Tai Chi as an orange belt, which is unusual because typically you must hold a black belt in your primary style before you can qualify to teach another. The Grandmaster certified me himself.   So while I wouldn't wish the disability I have on anyone, the opportunities that have opened up as a result are awesome |

WOW! I am so thankful that Misha has accomplished more than most people most people with no diabilities have done. You are an inspiration to everyone, including me.

Gee post a few pictures and the thread goes way off topic! I am thankful for my friend Master Woodworker Brian Letourneau who made me these awesome tippers so I could learn to play bodhran! (They are hand made/custom made to work with the deformities in my hands thanks to the cerebral palsy)  |
