SQUIRRELS!!!! Did you see the stories about the aggresive squirrels in Chicago? I know of some in Rhode Island ...one climbs the wooden molding next to the sliding door and STARES at me....when I open the door, she comes in and gets a walnut in her mouth, then spins around , brushing my hand with her tail and looks at me....that means another one in her claws....then she goes out, eats them, then we repeat the whole thing three or four time. that`s Evita van Eekhoorn. . Another one comes in and sticks her head in the bag of walnuts and gets her own. They`re not aggressive as much as they`re SPOILED. Can`t imagine how that happened |

Finally solving a problem that's been bugging me for a while.
In this case it was figuring out that the Golden Ticket posts were hidden from Canada (or at least from my normal public IP address). They're visible through a US or UK proxy (maybe other locations too). That was really getting me frustrated. Glad to have the mystery solved!

This is going to be a bit of a long ramble again. Sorry. The happy part is at the end but the story may be required to fully appreciate it.
So depending on how many other threads you've read before this one, you'll know that I went to see Celtic Woman Home for Christmas tonight.
I wasn't aware of any M+G before this despite a bunch of time spent searching for one. So I had regular tickets
In a desperate attempt to meet them anyways, I showed up at the venue hours before the doors opened. There were a few places I thought the girls might go if they were to venture out into the bitter cold. Two prime candidates were closed, so I decided to just walk around the area hoping they were out exercising or something. I walked back and forth a cross a bridge a few times because it had a good vantage point and I thought there was a chance if they would go out walking, it would be near the frozen Saginaw river (quite pretty).
I was bundled up pretty well, but the wind chill was still brutal on the face.
The majority sidewalks were not shoveled and there was a lot of snow here over the past few days. So I was walking through a foot of snow at times in my dress shoes.
Anyways, I saw the tour bussed (and the venue staff saw me and eyed me suspiciously). But I didn't see the girls after about 2 hours and I was out of time...also my GPS suddenly divided it was low on batteries so I had to find my way back to where I parked from memory, which is sketchy at best.
When I got to the venue, I found out there was a M+G after all. Unfortunate I didn't know, but I already went into that in other threads.
After enjoying the concert more than any concert I've ever been to or even dreamed of, I went out back after a while in the hopes of meeting them. At this point though it was even colder than before. Fortunately for the girls, the tour bussed were very close to the back of the building. Unfortunately for me, there was no way I could intercept them without essentially walking right up to the tour bus. I thought about it and walked around the block a few times in case they came out. I didn't see them, but I decided not to wait any longer. It was so cold at that point I couldn't bear the thought of keeping the girls out in it for even a few minutes.
So I left.
Now for the happy part.
I Tweeted during intermission how much I was loving the show. Tara replied after the that she was glad I liked it. When I got back to the hotel, I Tweeted her back saying what I had planned to say to her: that she was amazing and they couldn't have picked a better person in the world to be a part of Celtic Woman and take over for Mairead Nesbitt. And I told her my only regret from the evening was not meeting her. She replied saying was sorry she didn't get to meet me but she saw me in the audience. The way she said it I could tell she genuinely meant it. And that little thing, the simplest of Tweets made me so very happy.
The little things matter.
