Made it to ForumFest 2012 in Chicago!

« on: September 23, 2007, 09:43AM »

With all the comments centered on ANJ and the new Christmas DVD, I decided to get out the original Helix DVD this morning and listen to and watch some "classic" Celtic Woman.  I can now appreciate more than ever the abilities of these young women (and David, the choir, and the orchestra, of course).  Just a few practices and they were able to create a performance that has changed the musical listening habits of thousands of people!  Grin

This music is ALL SO WONDERFUL!!!!   Smiley Smiley

THANK YOU!!!   Orlagh, Meav, Lisa, Chloe, Mairead, (Deirdra, Hayley and Lynn) David, the Choir, the Orchestra, the entire CW family for bringing the world such a wonderful gift!  It brightens my day, soothes my soul, brings chills to my spine, and makes me happy!

You've been told many times before how much your music means to so many people - it's worth repeating one more time!

It just shows that a group's very first start can be really memorable.  Wink

Reaction on CWF when Isle of Hope CD comes out

This DVD was a permanent resident in my player for a long while, until I wore out my first copy.  Thank goodness for Amazon!

The ladies connected with each other musically and emotionally even on that first DVD, and it was a joy to see that affection for each other grow.

Thank you David, for bringing these wonderful women together, and also introducing us to the wonderful talents of Deirdre, Hayley and Lyn!   Smiley

Well when I forst got ANJ i relized that the girls had changed since the first Helix performance. So I got out that DVD and saw how much of a change there was. Chloe looks older now, Meav has longer hair and different style, Lisa had lost weight for her second child and new hair style and Orla has longer hair and seems more happy on stage now. Also the CW girls have a better bond on stage now

I love keeping this DVD in my listening rotation because there are  songs I enjoy that aren't on the others-like "Jesu Joy" "Nella Fantasia", "She Moved Thro' The Fair" etc. The talent level remained excellent but there is a marked improvement in the production qualities of the later DVDs.

Name the Aontas Choral Ensemble members for the 2004 Helix cd/dvd.  They should be identified and recognized for their contribution to what is now Celtic Woman.   12 members in total.  I can name a few:  Rosemary Collier--Choir Master, Kira Deegan, Daire Halpin, Julie Feeney, Simon Morgan, Andrew Nangle.  Photos of the chorus are on photobucket.  Please, let's do this.  Celtic Woman 2005 is my most favorite.  Sure miss Orla and Meav!
