The Little Prince

I recently acquired the DVD of "The Little Prince", a children's opera produced by the BBC a number of years ago. It is based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and the opera music was composed by Rachel Portman. A couple of interesting people have significant roles in this opera:

The part of The Rose is played by none other than Mairead Carlin -- then only 15 years old!

The other character of note is The Pilot, played by baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes. Teddy was a guest singer for a couple of numbers (How Many Stars? and Hine E Hine) on Hayley Westenra's DVD.

An enjoyable musical story!!

I read The Little Prince in French class, so it will be interesting to see the DVD.  I didn't know it existed.  I am excited to see Mairead.  Thanks for posting!
