Chloë Agnew will always be my VBIF forever~!

« on: June 28, 2014, 09:33AM »

I listened to both their solo versions of this song, so I'm arranging a duet for them. Here's the color key and the lyrics:

Chloë Agnew
Méav Ní Mhaolchatha
Both

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.

Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of China blue.

Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

And now I understand
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how

Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you (They could not love you)
But still your love was true (Your love was true)
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night.
You took your life as lovers often do;

But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful
as you

Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget

Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

Now I think I know
(Yes, I really know)
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they're not listening still
Perhaps they never will...

I  think  that  the  contrast  of  their   lovely  voices  would  be  perfect.   Smiley

Seems like Vincent Van Gough in heaven would like to hear these voices.

Even though he did his work, it was a deep grief that some people humiliated him by hatred. Sad But, I have sympathy of this guy. Did you know that he had a brother named Theo?

I    did not  know  about  his brother ,   Kimberly.    I  do  know  that   suffered  from  what  we  call   "clinical  depression"   and  other  kinds  of  mental  illness.  People  in  his  day  did  not  understand people  like  him  and  often  treated  the  sufferers  of  those  things  badly.  Vincent  was  not  appreciated  in  his  day. It  wasn't  until  after  he died  that  he  was  appreciated. Sad  story  was  his.     Hopefully  he  is  at  peace  now.

I know that both their versions are on youtube so it's very possible that someone may make a mashup like they did with Susan's and Lisa's the voice and Lisa L's and Meav's Dulaman

Wonder what a mashup means. Roll Eyes
That mean's  when  two  different  versions  of  a  song  are  played  together   or  back to back.   Cool

Oh. It's just like Sarah and Amelia Brightman both singing "Moment of Peace" with Gregorian?
