Oh you have made me very angry, very angry indeed!

I was just trolling around Twitter and Mairead's N and C both commented on Decade being Number 3 and saying it was released through Decca. Has CW changed labels from Manhattan? (I only point this out cuz people have expressed frustration with the label in the past)

That is a bit of a complicated question. The simple answer is, CW records under Celtic Collections in Ireland. Celtic Collections then licensees the recordings to other companies in other countries. The tweets you are referring to are talking about Decca as their Australian label, in the US they are licensed to Manhattan records, a division of EMI. Does that make sense?

The more complicated answer is... Decca is owned by Universal Music. EMI, and therefore Manhattan, was sold in 2012 to Universal Music. My understanding is that by this point Universal has already finished shuffling things around and will continue to operate all remaining labels (including Manhattan in the US) as is for the foreseeable future. In other words, CW is publishing under two different subsidiary labels of the same company.

OMG, I was actually planning to research all this label stuff a few months ago and then it totally slipped my mind until I stumbled across this post.

Thank you!

So In the VOA program, the record listing says Capitol Records in LA. Are they still with Manhattan?

I think Capitol Records and Manhattan Records are both sub-labels of Capitol Music Group:
