Old and current news at the same time. Look at this:

So sad, but it's important to know about this. Can someone see the full article?

I cannot read it, but I think it's not unlikely. After all, there must be a reason why David left CW when everything was going great - and after that they had to re-do every arrangement of the old songs (except maybe Orinoco Flow, but we'll see in the future). If his parting was a peaceful one, CW would have been allowed to keep his arrangements.

David  left  CW so  he  could  concentrate  on  his  newer  production  :The  Bloody Irish" .    I can't  imagine  David  D.  stooping  to  the  level  described.    Undecided

I'm not sure whether there's any truth to this or not.

A few things to think about though:
- I'm sure there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes we don't know about. I think it's possible bitterness accumulated over the years.
- Did he get sort of a grand send-off like Mairead Nesbitt did?
- We don't see him supporting Celtic Woman at all on social media.
- But that could be a result of the mentality that Lisa K and Chloë had when they left: done is done and when you close the door behind you, you don't look back through the window

It sounds to me like a similar situation as when Phil Coulter left Celtic Thunder. The difference is that Phil must've left on slightly better terms cuz they did still use a few arrangements he had. But Phil left shortly after Damian did in 2012-ish. At that point, CT was only 5 years old. With CW, David's departure hits harder cuz he was with them for 10+ years seeing as he left during the middle of the Anniversary Tour.

It could very well have been bitter split seeing as how CW had not released a truly new album since Believe and he up and decided (during the Anniversary time) to do a new show completely outside of CW. I understand wanting to expand creatively, but at the same time, it'd been nearly 4 years since a new show was recorded. Let's not forget how much all us fans on the Forum were lamenting the lack of new material.

It also explains a lot about VOA and why they chose to revisit so many old songs with new arrangements. And the full orchestra also gave us the opportunity to truly appreciate Gavin's abilities as a composer.

This one has some actual numbers:

Reading the full article requires an account, so all I can see is the start of the article.

Could this be the reason why CW switched record labels here in the US?
