One CWazy Canadian! Chlovër for life!

« on: September 05, 2016, 05:09PM »

On September 6-7, 2011, if memory serves, Celtic Woman performed live in Atlanta, Georgia and recorded the PBS special / DVD Believe.

That would make tomorrow the 5th anniversary of that incredible show.

They took a bit of a chance performing a different style of music, but it ended up being one of the most beautiful and uplifting productions I've ever seen. The set and the dresses were stunning. The music was unforgettable.

You'll Never Walk Alone, Follow On, The World Falls Away ... just some of the masterpieces from Believe.

The Parting Glass was the most epic and bittersweet endings ever. The Celtic Woman arrangement is the best arrangement by far. Such power and beautiful harmony. Such simple but potent words. I eventually came to associate the Parting Glass with a farewell to Lisa Kelly (and later Chloë). The way they embraced at the end...it was just so touching and perfect.

Believe also introduced a lot of the general audience to Lisa Lambe. What a gifted performer and rare treasure. I'm really sorry I never got to see her live with Celtic Woman.

Believe is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen or heard.

Thank you, Celtic Woman and Happy Anniversary!

My goodness, that is so cool!

I probably saw you but I've got serious problems associating names and faces (especially from people I know online).  Wink

I hardly recognized anyone at the Chloë concert in Indiana last week even though there was quite a few significant fans there. Roll Eyes I've honestly worked with people for 6 years and I know their names or faces, but rarely both.

Thank goodness I recognized Chloë though, huh? Lol.

I imagine there were a ton of super-fans present for Believe. Must have been a really special couple of days.

I don't know what it's going to take to get to the next DVD recording (hopefully next year), but I have to find a way. I love them too much to miss any more of these for anything.

I've been curious, did pretty much everyone in the audience already know the lyrics to Green Grow the Rushes or did they teach the audience the chorus before the song?

Oh, to have been there...
It was fun -- and after the show on the second night, the ladies, David and some chorus members stopped and talked with a few of us on the sidewalk outside. Wink

Were there any differences in the set list etc. between the first concert and the second?

I don'i recall any changes.  They recorded both nights and I think they used different camera angles each night, then edited it all together for the dvd.  There are several good reviews posted on the forums. Smiley

really think Believe was the last grand show.
All the shows after Believe have been smaller in scale.
