Does anyone know if that's Tara's vocals in the first 20 seconds of "For the Love of a Princess?"

I asked Tara (well, technically the Tara Forum asked Tara) and Tara asked Mairead Carlin.
Let's see where this goes...

It sure sounded like Tara! It really, really did. She did say she didn't sing on the album though. My best guess (and Glen's as well) is that it's Mairead Carlin. Tara seemed to be leaning in that direction as well, although we're waiting to see if Mairead confirms it.

You know what, if I listen closely, it almost sounds like it could be Eabha. It has that sort of profound resonance that Eabha's has. It sounds like it's been adjusted a bit in editing to make it sound different though. I'm really curious now. Lol.

Thanks for asking, Tom - I'm SO curious! It doesn't sound like Mairéad to me, either. But I hope we'll find out soon!

Just listened to that singer part for the first time . not the song though & it certainly resonates (Eabha) to me. I'd assume Tara's voice far lighter.

In their song teaser video for the album they put out yesterday, it lists the names of the principal performers on each track.
For the Love of a Princess only has Tara listed.
So maybe it was just one of the choir members.
But I asked Eabha anyways, so we'll see.

If you go to Mairéad C's Twitter page, she confirmed that it was her singing at the beginning. I'm very surprised because it didn't sound like her at all to me!

Mairead is one talented woman. Not only does she sing amazingly well, but she can change her voice. She did it for one of her recent videos too (made it sound wider / flatter because it was a native song and it made it sound really cool when she sang it that way.
