Voices of Angels has made a comeback on the Billboard charts for a few weeks.
I have some theories as to why:
- Some consumers thought Voices of Angels was the album for their latest special / DVD (it's actually "Homecoming"). Many of the songs on Homecoming are VoA tracks and was based on the VoA tour, so the confusion is somewhat understandable.
- Year end Christmas shopping (The Best of Christmas was also available, but I suppose some people got VoA instead because The Best of Christmas was a compilation album).
- The album was #1 on the 2017 Billboard year-end World Albums Chart, which attracted some additional interest.
- Celtic Woman finished 2nd in the 2017 Billboard year-end World Albums Artists chart and VoA was the group's most recent studio album at the time of that announcement.
Side-note: in case anyone is wondering, Voices of Angels didn't get nominated for a Grammy. I'm not really surprised. It was a crossover album and may not have peaked the interest of pure Classical Music or World Music voters. Their loss
