Today is my first Forum Fanniversary!!!
It's hard to believe it's been a whole year, yet only been a year. A lot has happened since then.
When I joined the forum, it was at the tail end of a long string of rough years for me, so bad I was barely even following our lovely ladies for a while. I spent the start of the year catching up on a few years worth of missed material, particularly the solo material. At the time I joined, it had only a couple of months since I saw the Destiny tour, the first time I had ever seen Celtic Woman live. I had seen Chloe's online shows, but I hadn't seen her in person yet. I had never met any of the girls. And aside from a couple of people in my family I had introduced to the group, I didn't know any other Celtic Woman fans.
Since, then: - I've joined 8 other forums - I saw Celtic Woman live 3 more times (4 total now): Destiny, Home for Christmas, and Voices of Angels (twice) - We welcomed Tara as the newest member of Celtic Woman - Our ladies past and present released a bunch of singles and albums: Voices of Angels, Mairead Carlin (Songbook ... still think it's a shame what they did to Mairead), Mairead Nesbitt (Hibernia and Devil's Bit Sessions), Orla (Sweet By and By), Chloe (Heartstrings EP), Edel Murphy (Bluebonnet Spring EP), Lisa Lambe (16 Dead Men, The Thorns From Your Heart), Mairead Nesbitt (O Come, O Come Emmanuel), Chloe (Pray for Peace, We've Got Tonight) - Mairead Carlin, Eabha, Lisa Lambe, Tara, and Amy Rivard started working on new albums (maybe Hayley too) - Alex, Lynn, and Edel formed a new group called CaraNua - Glen and Ronan went viral with their Adele medley (fun fact: the Destiny show I saw was the first show they performed their medley as part of the tour, as far as I know) - Chloe and 3 of her friends dedicated a song to me on YouTube <3 ... Mary Bee, one of those friends, dedicated a second song to me on YouTube <3 ... I saw a lot of their live online streams on Facebook, Periscope, Concert Window, StageIt, etc. - Susan did the 17 weeks, 17 songs project - Celtic Woman was nominated for a Grammy - Susan and Eabha got engaged and Mairead Carlin got married (Tara was already engaged by the time I joined) - I finally saw Chloë live and met her at one of her solo shows - I finally saw Lisa Kelly live - I went to a fan gathering in Peachtree City - I met Mairead Nesbitt (twice) at Rocktopia shows - I met Susan, Mairead Carlin, Eabha and Tara - I met a lot of Celtic Woman fans through the forums, social media, and concerts. I finally have a group of people with whom I can share my love for Celtic Woman!
But most importantly, the last 18 months or so, I have been the happiest I've been in a long time. I owe so much to Celtic Woman for that. But I also owe a lot to all of you. You have made me feel so welcome and appreciated over the past year. Thank you so much! <3
I can hardly wait to see what the next year has in store for us!
