In the intro of Chloë's "Brahm's Lullaby," about the first 15 seconds, there's a woman singing "aaa-oo's." Does anybody know where this is from? I know that I've heard it somewhere before, and it's driving me crazy! Cheesy

I thought it was part of the soundtrack from The Snowman, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the short (original or TV version), or the soundtrack. It actually sounds a bit similar to the way Peter Auty or Aled Jones sang Walking in the Air, but I haven't been able to find a clip of either one of them humming a similar tune. For a while, every time I heard this intro part, my initial thought was it was the intro to Walking in the Air, only to realize it was a different song after the intro ended. I'm not really sure why. She sings both in that sweet, high voice, but they're in a different key.

It also reminded me of a horror tune, like Children of the Corn or something, but it's definitely not from that and I couldn't put my finger on what horror film it reminded me of. It definitely wasn't the intent of the song to emulate a horror theme, so I abandoned that angle.

I even let Shazam have a go at the intro, but it just identified it as Chloe's Brahm's Lullaby.

I'm pretty sure Chloë's singing that intro part herself, but I'm not sure why the tune sounds familiar.

Thank you very much for your reply, Tom. Smiley I can hear how it sounds familiar to the Walking in the Air intro.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!

End of Days was 1999 ... well before Chloë recorded it. So they certainly could have used that theme.

Now the question becomes: did they leverage that tune intentionally or was it coincidental? A lullaby is of course appropriate to the end of a day, but the movie End of Days was basically about the apocalypse. The movie and the song are not related, as far as I know.

Maybe there was some significance to choosing that part of the tune. Maybe they just liked the tune itself.
