It looks like the show at the 3Arena in Dublin on September 2, 2017 will be recorded as the next Celtic Woman PBS special / DVD!!!

https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2017/0703/887332-celtic-women/

As it is part of the Voices of Angels tour, I expect it will be a Voices of Angels DVD (although there is precedent for it being named after the next tour, as was the case with Emerald, which was recorded during the 2013 World tour).

Honestly, I thought since the announcement of this concert that it may very well end up being the next DVD special. I just hope they give Mairead A Time For Us and not Dulaman. Wonder if they'll have the orchestra?!

Can Meav do Dulaman & join for Amazing Grace than or O America if used?

I Don't think this time another title is as better than
Voices of Angels. Celtic Woman by the Angels(?)
Emerald was fine it wasn't the Anniversary nor was the tour to do with Believe.

All good thoughts.

Given the size of the venue I suspect there will be a live orchestra ( probably not a 72-piece orchestra  Cheesy ), but it's hard to predict those kinds of things in the post-David-Downes era. Orchestra and a massive choir, I'm hoping. A full choir really fills out the sound, especially with just 3 singers. They all have strong voices. But even Lisa, Meav, Chloë, Alex etc who excelled at projecting their voices, still benefited from a rich, full sound supporting them.

Yeah, I suspected this might be the DVD, but couldn't count on that being the case.

I'm Entirely Surprised There Hasn't been a video or clip of Susan's She Moved thru The Fair Lavish  Smiley Choreographed  Day Dance Performance! * I really hope they capture this stunning story telling song come to life on the Voices of Angels DVD PBS Special*! Roll Eyes

Well, this isn't an easy post to type, but I can't go see the VoA DVD recording at the 3Arena in Dublin.

I could still win the contest, I suppose, but that is the only foreseeable chance of me going at this point.

This one falls in the category just short of devastating, but:
- I've already seen Voices of Angels twice this year. If it was 'pre-tour' DVD recording rather than a 'post-tour' one, I would want to go even more, so it's probably for the best.
- I have to imagine most of the good seats are gone by now. If they're not, don't even tell me ... I don't want to know.
- Pretty much everyone I was planning to travel with bailed ... again.
- It's too short notice.
- If I'm going to go to Ireland, I want to go for more than just one show.
- I can't go for any more extended trips any time soon after burning through my budget several times over this year...
- ... and at the end of the day, going to Ireland on the fumes from the dying embers of that budget just so I can say I was in a big audience for a CW DVD recording can't be reasonably justified.
- Lastly, I want to go see Lisa again next year and I want to go see Celtic Woman at Red Rocks should I have another chance. This dream of seeing a CW DVD recording has to die so I can live another dream some other day.

I feel like I'm letting the girls down by not supporting them. I'm also really worried I might not get another chance to see them record a DVD.

Typing out the justification makes me feel a bit better.

Sorry if I'm away from the forum for a bit folks. I might be in bad shape for a while.

I'm hoping I get over this before I see the DVD or PBS special, because if not, it's going to be painful to watch it.

I am curious if they'll be some new songs or is it pretty much like HFC with A Time For Us and O America as extras. This is the 1st Time ever we have a tour before a DVD PBS Special under the Same Name other than HFC! Emerald tour only had Susan solos, & Mairead's being different plus Lynn of course in there adding changes the rest was exact to the Special. Same Dresses or Different as Emerald (few girls same others not.)

Interesting........predictions Wink

I am SO excited about this! Here is what I'm hoping for.

1. I hope they let Mairead sing A Time for Us instead of Dulaman. I LOVED watching her perform that, but I want to see her perform ATFU in the DVD.
2. I hope Meav guest stars. If she does, she'll probably sing Dulaman. If not, I hope they keep Dulaman, and let Tara sing it! It's about time they give her a SINGING solo, because she has an AMAZING voice!
3. I hope they perform the new arrangements of The Voice and The Parting Glass, as well as Eabha's Sean Nos song (I don't know how to spell it lol).

At some point, I REALLY hope they have Tara play harp and sing on a new version of Shenandoah. I want this for 2 reasons: First and foremost, it's a beautiful song and the fact that it's a slower song means the harp will add an extra layer of beauty along with whatever orchestral accompaniment they choose to give, in addition to Tara's beautiful voice. Secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, it can be done as a sort of dedication to Mairead Nesbitt, who played that song for multiple tours over the course of her CW career, from her predecessor, but it'd be done in a completely different way!

That would be AWESOME!!!!! Plus Tara deserves a singing solo!

I agree completely. It would also be nice because it's a passing of the torch song but it'll be different.

Glad you guys like the idea! And I really do think it'd be great cuz Tara could also mention her harp playing on Destiny and her dream of performing with CW one day.

I also wish, more than anything else, that Celtic Woman would consider tapping a different former member for every special. Not to tour! Just to record a solo on the DVD and a group song with the girls! Like how Meav has done with Destiny and VOA. But not just Meav. Surprise us! Like if they did a Christmas show and Alex randomly popped in to sing a few dongs. Or if on VOA Lynn would take Meav's solos.
