Glad you guys like the idea! And I really do think it'd be great cuz Tara could also mention her harp playing on Destiny and her dream of performing with CW one day.

I also wish, more than anything else, that Celtic Woman would consider tapping a different former member for every special. Not to tour! Just to record a solo on the DVD and a group song with the girls! Like how Meav has done with Destiny and VOA. But not just Meav. Surprise us! Like if they did a Christmas show and Alex randomly popped in to sing a few dongs. Or if on VOA Lynn would take Meav's solos.

I so agree! I would LOVE to see Orla perform with them again, even as a guest. I'd REALLY love to hear her sing with Eabha!

Alex Lynn as next guest DVD, Susan LL next Castle

I Definitely Agree! For Christmas Lynn or and Alex absolutely. As for VOA Special I would want Meav on O America if they did it it since Meav she was not on SFTH while Lynn was plus Meav would pull the lead on the 2016 version Best! However for Dulaman let have Lynn instead we are very familiar watching Meav on Dulaman already on ANJ. Plus Lynn is the only Dulaman Dynamo not to have had a DVD or CD recording of her CW Dulaman if you aren't counting the video footage in Caranua version!
Grin I was thinking how beautifully Lynn could pull off those VOA versions, but let's have Meav for O America with Lynn. Is that too much!
Alex would be perfect for it too I Believe. Lets give her DulamanVOA Grin

Actually Lynn's not the only Dulaman soloist who didn't get to record a DVD/CD of it with CW. There was Hayley, Alex, and Mairead Carlin.

Yes that's correct!
You are right, the reason I only mentioned Lynn was she was the longest time second CW after Meav who performed it for several years. Lisa L came third and even though Lisa's was really special wish Lynn would have credit for all those 4-5 years doing it on her own.
Hayley & Alex were very short fill in's & Mairead is not yet until whether she does it on The VOA taping or not or for the future!
I really wanted to hear Alex though so bad when she toured & done it for CW ten years show the two images are fantastic!
I wonder if we will get a full track to CaraNua's version! Tongue

So here's a question: Do we think they'll have the orchestra for this show? The VOA cd specifically featured the orchestra as part of the production. The only thing of it is, I have NO idea of the size of the 3Arena.

Further, will they change the stage up a bit if they have the room? After all, the PBS Specials usually feature a more elaborate stage than the tour. And will they include the giant monitor in the background? Personally I hope not cuz I don't care for the monitor. I think it's a waste and a bit of a distraction.

And will Meav be in this show? Cuz I REALLY wanna hear Mairead perform A Time For Us. I love that song and thought she sounded heavenly on it. And if Meav joins, does this mean all new costumes? And would she join them on Oró?

So many questions! What do you guys think?

Great questions!

My thoughts:

* I don't think there will be a full orchestra, but I think there's a very good chance they will have some string accompaniment on stage. It was very effective on Saturday Night with Miriam (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8pW4aOKqC4).

* Yes, I think Méav will be in the show in some capacity. I think she'll only be in one or two songs and I don't think she'll insert herself in a song the girls already sang on the VoA tour, except for Time to Say Goodbye or perhaps The Parting Glass, those being potential closing numbers. Although I agree Méav in A Time For Us with MC would be pretty spectacular. O America is a possibility.

* Yes, I think they will have a video screen of some sort. The team designing their sets seams to like the video screen. I think it added to the show for a lot of people, but personally, I didn't pay hardly any attention to it. I didn't find it distracting either though.

* I think there will be differences to the stage setup. I don't think there will be a complete overhaul. I'd expect the main architecture of the stage to remain intact, with multiple levels of stairs and some central extending platforms. I think the minimalist set of the Destiny DVD turned off a lot of people, so I'd be surprised if they rolled out the exact same stage as the VoA tour without at least some elegant curtains or something. I would also be surprised if it was as elegant a set as Believe though. Somewhere in between, like Emerald.

* Re: costumes, I'm really not sure. I don't think Méav joining in itself would necessitate a complete wardrobe overhaul. I wouldn't be surprised to see them have similar dresses to the tour but with some tweaks. I also would be surprised to see them come out with completely new outfits (or at least a new set for one of the acts), but I think it's a bit less likely considering there's still more of the 2017 VoA tour left this year. Does anyone remember what they did for the Emerald recording? Were they wearing the same outfits as the Believe tour, or did they have new ones for the recording?

* We've already heard the girls tweaking some of their arrangements since the North American tour (ie. Time to Say Goodbye) and I would be very surprised if they left out some of their newer fancies ("Water Under the Bridge" or "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"). I would like to hear this arrangement of Shenandoah (https://youtu.be/BKvGMAtFVps), but I don't think it will happen.

Certainly lots of intriguing possibilities.

I know a few people from Facebook that are going, but they're not on the forum either, at least not frequently. For a while, I was seriously considering going, but it turned out to not be feasible. Oh well, I'm happy for the people that are going and I'm excited for the DVD!

I'm not able to go, because 1, it's too expensive/far away, and 2, I already have plans this weekened for another trip. But I'm excited for the DVD too!

This answers some questions:
http://www.irishnews.com/arts/2017/08/31/news/world-beating-irish-ensemble-celtic-woman-brings-voices-of-angels-tour-home-1123266/

...
Celtic Woman always perform a show rather than a concert and the Dublin event, which will be recorded for television broadcast in America by the PBS network, will include a fresh stage design, breathtaking choreography, and brand new costumes.

The live concert will feature many songs from their Voice of Angels albums, as well as a large ensemble of equally talented musicians and dancers whose exceptional skill and high energy bring a fresh fusion to centuries of musical and cultural tradition.

During each show the girls have three or four costume changes and Tara is looking forward to getting into Simon O'Mahony's latest designs.

"They are simply stunning. He knows what works for us, but we can also say what we like and he can make it accordingly. We are very lucky. Mine is slightly shorter to enable me to skip around the stage – but I still get the sparkle," she laughs.
